Then what the heck is this tax about? He mentions two different type items. He is trying to prevent the lower items for being priced higher than they already are.... or something like that. Im too lazy to go look again. I will later. Anywho... people dont care about the lower items. As far as I have seen, people only complain about the older MC's. Not the lower ones... unless you count the MC now being up to 15k instead of 4k.
(Yeah run on sentences... sue me) xd

It's about making things as stable as can be so they can be "enabled to do amazing stuff" (or something to that effect said by Lanzer by way of explanation)... I read that to mean all sorts of promotional schemes which he can count on Gaians taking part in predictably for want of gold, which he wants to be more valuable.
