The year is 2007. During the summer, several rumors about sabotage on military bases circulated globally. Few actually noticed that every country's military bases were somehow involved, yet all these issues were minor to the global community and were soon forgotten and replaced by other, more glamorous news items. Naturally, the military never divulged anything nor gave any public credit to the rumors, as it always does. Several months later, on May 13, every capital and major city of the world experienced what started as mass riots and degenarated quickly into mass cannibalism. Soon, the whole world realized the threat that had beset him- the dead were coming back to life to haunt them. After the cities were nearly decimated, the zombie plague soon made it's way to the countryside and rural areas of the world, seeking to eradicate all human life. The military could have easily stopped this thread with the available firepower- but it was rendered incapable. Witnesses reported that at the same time the riots started, lightning raids by small groups of black-clad soldiers sporting skull-like helmets dropped from helicopters, appearing out of nowhere and decimated what little military personnel remained unaffected and had set up resistance points. All of said soldiers were highly trained and efficient, and some of them were reported to even be invincible to gunfire, shrugging anything short of .50 caliber machineguns. Several months have passed yet again, with survivors running away from zombies, alone or in small groups, attempting to maintain their existence. Whenever survivors managed to band together in sizable groups numbering in the dozens, driving away zombies and establishing a fortified community, they were attacked by helicopters dropping dark-clad warriors who were aided by hordes of zombies, both manlike and horribly mutated- zombies whose form was drastically altered into a more deadly form. Everything was burned to the ground and survivors that fled these slaughters were talking about things never heard before- that the leaders of these groups wore some strange, ornate armor with a skull-faced helmet, armor that shrugged off small arms' fire like an umbrella shrugs off rain, and that they were armed with large-caliber pistols and surprisingly, large swords of various designs which they used to cut down whoever was lucky enough to get his hands on bulletproof and tactical armor. What was more frightening, however, was the ability of these men, whose face was hidden, to command the zombie hordes that aided them...
....
In short, I'd be interest in this being a great zombie campaign with a slight twist. Who's up for a zombie campaign? I'd really prefer someone else took the mantle of GMing for this one, I'm itching for some serious zombie action.

cool. I am in, too. I had an idea long ago about a zombie RP. It was during the cold war nuclear missiles were launched and blew up most of the US and USSR. soldiers invaded and were killed by zombies. Basically a night of the living dead (radiation causing zombies) with post-apocolyptic scenery.
But I am interested in hearing your story..

1. Chino, it's not open.
2. Odysseas, your story seems rather square, and lacks detail into the "why" of anything. Have faith in the Military, they are there to protect the people, not attack random countries like you seem to believe.
My story isn't set in 2007, or even in America. It will most likely have alot of to do with the Chernobyl Disaster and Survival rather then a Zombies-Up-The-Arse-Killing. Yes, a very simple Dice System will be involved, a precursor to the Brandish System. Things I intend to do is punish RPers for not thinking outside the box and for not considering their actions.

"Zombies have a Kill-Rank of 4. In order to kill a Zombie, you must roll a 4. "
You mean, we have to roll 4 or higher, right?

hey, not to dish on X's story line, but everyone is making a story. I wanted to show you guys the story I made a while back. Tell me what you guys think:
The Cold War. Today, no one knows or even cares why it began. The only thing any one knows is how it ended. It ended in the early 1990's when both the American Military and Soviet Military were whipped out. It started with the launch of a nuclear warhead. One country launched, then the other, back and forth it went for almost a year. The blasts whipped out almost half of the population of either countries.
The second blow came from the military invasions. Both countries ended up sending both of their armies to attack each other at the same time. Both attacks were initially successful until the soldiers reported being attacked by monsters. Some said monsters, others claimed that the dead bodies got up and attacked them.
That was a couple of years ago. Today the survivors have banded together in packs, killing the already dead. The news report still stuck in their heads: "Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills! The people it kills get up and kill! The only way to to exterminate them is take off their heads. Shoot 'em in the brain!"
The survivors who are left either stick around and fight, or run away and look for peace. The ones who run have followed this faceless, nameless voice who announced: "Yah, Ya I got us an idea, Let's get in that ol' whirly bird there, find us an island someplace, get greased up, and spend what time we got left soakin' up some sunshine! How's that?"
The ones who do fight either find a fortified location and stand-off with the dead or they travel, scavenging for food, clothing, shelter and weapons.
