Introduction~Ever had a really great avitar that you put into the arena and it hardly got noticed. Well for those avies you can bring them here and have a better chance of them getting noticed and possiby winning. The GGOA Arena is a monthly Avitar Contest that gives you a chance to win. Process~If your going to enter send me a trade for 1k titled 'Avi Fee', i will then send it to the guilds mule. You may do your avi on tektek so that you can you that imagination of yours. Sometimes I will have a set theme others will be whatever and however. Though I will have a set price range. You also need to include a description for it as well with a name for it everyone loves being creative with designing it but other people might like to know a story behind the avi so tell a story pertaining to whom or what it depicts or tell us how you where inspired by it....and no three letter ones either come on get creative!!! If its too short I'll kindly ask you to make it longer blaugh So simplified... 1. Send trade titled 'Avi Fee' 2. Send your tektek avi with a description for your avi 3. Relax until voting begins While a contest is in progress I will accept entries for the next month, the voting will begin the first week of each month and end the 2nd week. You may edit your entry up until I close it for voting (means no changing once voting begins). If there is a shortage of entries each person may create another entry for the contest. But that is only if we have 7 or less. The amount of contestants will vary though one week it could be 7 the next 17 so there isnt a set number. If you have comments suggestions, questions and concerns pm me. The prizes will vary and be posted in the Prize post in decending order The process when I do not enter will be by popular vote of a poll and there will be times that I enter to boost up the numbers since I buy most of the prizes. But each contest I wont be listing who did it so it will be completly unbiased.

Description razz oem, by Edgar Allen Poe: Israfel In Heaven a spirit doth dwell "Whose heart-strings are a lute;" None sing so wildly well As the angel Israfel, And the giddy Stars (so legends tell), Ceasing their hymns, attend the spell Of his voice, all mute.
Tottering above In her highest noon, The enamoured Moon Blushes with love, While, to listen, the red levin (With the rapid Pleiads, even, Which were seven), Pauses in Heaven.
And they say (the starry choir And the other listening things) That Israfeli's fire Is owing to that lyre By which he sits and sings-- The trembling living wire Of those unusual strings.
But the skies that angel trod, Where deep thoughts are a duty-- Where Love's a grow-up God-- Where the Houri glances are Imbued with all the beauty Which we worship in a star.
Therefore, thou art not wrong, Israfeli, who despisest An unimpassioned song; To thee the laurels belong, Best bard, because the wisest! Merrily live and long!
The ecstasies above With thy burning measures suit-- Thy grief, thy joy, thy hate, thy love, With the fervor of thy lute-- Well may the stars be mute!
Yes, Heaven is thine; but this Is a world of sweets and sours; Our flowers are merely--flowers, And the shadow of thy perfect bliss Is the sunshine of ours.
If I could dwell Where Israfel Hath dwelt, and he where I, He might not sing so wildly well A mortal melody, While a bolder note than this might swell From my lyre within the sky.

1. Description: her boyfriend said, "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate: Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer's lease hath all too short a date: Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines, And often is his gold complexion dimm'd; And every fair from fair sometime declines, By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd; But thy eternal summer shall not fade Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest; Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade, When in eternal lines to time thou growest: So long as men can breathe or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee." she said,"i love you! happy valentines day!"

maybe we should try alternating between tektek created avatar contests and true avitar contests or maybe we could do themed avitar contests.....??? I know I don't have the stuff to really compete in an true avi contest.... maybe the prize for the tektek contest could be a pinch smaller than the true avi contest??

Like the idea! Though, I don't know about constructing the avvie entries out of inventory items... we all have really varied inventories and some of us may not have enough dough to get stuff, or may not have very large inventories sweatdrop The tektek contests you set up in the Cupiding thread were very successful and you got a lot of participants. We really had fun with the themes, too! I think it's because the entries could be "conceptual", i.e. just on tektek so you could be really creative and not actually have to buy some stuff. So we're not limited by our imaginations, it's our budgets. lol retro and I posted a couple of other suggestions in your other thread, if you wanna have a look smile http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=11949721I hope this is succesful, because it's a good idea!
