((OOC: Rashida's Journal: X
Rashida's Previous RP: X
I was a member of mpinzani and since it has been disbanded I suppose that makes me a rouge again. ^^; I'm looking for rp and maybe a new pride. Anyone want me? biggrin ))

Rashida woke to find something distinctively different about her surroundings. There was a sense of coldness, where once there had been warmth ; a sense of darkness where once light had shone.

She was still there in the jungle, nestled in the little mountains, by the river that ebbed lazily. The small hares and ground birds still rushed in and out of the bush. But there was definitely something different.

Rashida felt her heart beating faster and faster, it felt like it might beat clean out of her chest. She tried to stand, dizzily, and nearly lost her balance.

Once she righted herself, her large lean pink form, finally coming out of her deep sleep, she looked around. Where had everyone gone?

She remembered the kindness of the king who had shared his meal, the warmth of his touch, the unmistakable scent of others like herself. Now it was gone, everything she worked so hard to find was gone. She was once again alone.

She was safe here for now, but it hardly seemed the same. Should she wait here? Would the others return? There was still plenty of food here, and protection from the outside... but... What if the others were in some kind of danger. What if the others were looking for her as well. But if she left, could she ever find this place again, especially with everyone's scents removed.

Unable to think further, she collapsed to the ground in defeat. The warmth she had shared was short lived, bittersweet. Now that she knew what kindness and family felt like, she did not want to face the world alone. She remembered the simple hug, her first hug. The way the hairs of the other interlaced with her own, pushing her fur forward, intertwining, mixing, and pressing against her skin. It was the first time she had felt connected and welcome. For someone that never even had parents, the sensation of another's touch was so strong that it was firmly burned into her mind.

Not knowing what else to do, Rashida let forth a long howl that ringed against the mountain walls, bouncing back to her ears. She just howled and howled and howled hoping someone would still be there and hear her cries.
