{rules and guidelines} o1. Follow all Gaia T.O.S. and their Rules & Guidelines.
o2. Recall the requirements listed on the homepage- you will be held up to those standards, so don't slack off.
o3. Bumping in the threads is prohibited. If you want to advertise your roleplay further, create a thread in the OOC subforum.
o4. Image size should be less than 500 pixels. This is covered in the Gaia Rules & Guidelines, but I want it to be extra clear.
o5. If you have a question or need assistance, please post all queries in the Help Thread of the Main Forum. Do not PM guild moderators or myself with questions, as you will be ignored.
o6. As for reporting abuse, please see the "reporting abuse" topic below for appropriate proceedings.
o7. Keep in mind that this is literate to advanced literate roleplaying guild. Therefore, all roleplay threads should be created accordingly. Within those guidelines, you are free to create whatever kind of roleplay you want! (Provided it adheres to the Gaia policies as well: PG-13, no flaming, etc.)
o9. Different roleplays will often have further rules. It is important that you read and follow the rules as posted by the thread's owner. Note to owners: You may have as many 'extra' rules as you want, but please do not alter the basic set of Guild Rules.
o8. It is of the upmost importance to me that all members follow the "Golden Rule". Meaning, be respectful and courteous to ALL guild members. Everyone deserves to be heard and we're all equal here, so no flaming and no bullying.

{thread indicators} Okay, this actually is important to know. I've seen quite a few threads rise and fall because of a lack of participation. Why? Because no one joined or people weren't willing to look hard for the thread.
But, Yumi, how could anyone not know that my thread titled "Sacred Hearts of the Apocolypse" is actually a Full Metal Alchemist RP?
I know, I know- We all love to have our creative names and catchy phrases to promote our threads. But, because of convenience, people are more likely to join an obviously labeled "Full Metal Alchemist" thread than something under a more cryptic name.
I love my thread's name, though! I don't want another generic roleplay like everyone else!
This is a reasonable request and because I myself am a sucker for random wordy roleplay titles, I've decided to use the old fall-back of indicators (snagged this idea from another successful guild). These indicators are bracketed letter tags that will indicate what kind of roleplay yours is. This is not mandatory, but it will greatly assist potential players in finding your RP.
[R]- Romance [C]- Comedy - Action/ Battle/ War [SF]- Science/ Futuristic [M]- Modern [A]- Adventure - School/ University Related [H]- Horror [O]- Occult/ Supernatural [F]- Fantasy [MD]- Medieval [H]- Historical
Example: [SFF][Chobits] The One For Me The thread title indicates that 'The One For Me' is a Futuristic Fantasy and based off of the show Chobits.
Many roleplays will fit into more than one category. Therefore, it is recommended that you use the indicator that most relates to your topic. If your RP does not fall under one of these categories, please feel free to suggest new ideas for indicators in the "ideas/ suggestions" thread.

{reporting abuse} Unfortunately, I can't monitor every guild member at all times to make sure they abide by the rules. Some of the craftier Gaian's may find ways to escape my watchful eye, but fortunately there is a way for you to help stomp out the weeds (for lack of better terminology). If you see someone who isn't acting up to guild standards or if you personally experience abuse, please take action.
Fill out the below form and PM it to me.Username: Reason: Evidence: Username: Who you are reporting. Reason: Why are they being reported? Evidence: Link to post(s) that led to their being reported.
This form can be used for any complaint against another user and can be modified to make it appropriate for your situation. Your complaint will be reviewed by crewmembers and if we see fit, the user in question will be given a notice or warning, depending on the severity of their case. If they are reported again after having been warned, they will be banned. We do not take rulebreaking and harassment lightly.

{roleplaying} Making a thread is simple. Making a good roleplay thread is an entirely different matter. Though simplicity is always great, there are some things that you must keep in mind in order to make a successful roleplay.Creating a New Roleplay Title. Okay, you may say "Duh" now, but it's very important as it's the first thing that catches a potential player's eye. Make sure your title gives at least a vague idea of what your RP is about. If you really want to use a completely random name, consider using the indicators listed above to help players find your thread. Introduction. The introduction can be brief, neccessary information should be covered in more detail through the plot summary and story setting. Here you can introduce key details that will quickly help the player decide whether or not they want to join. Plot Summary. One of the most important things to keep in mind is plot summary. It's much easier to start roleplaying if everyone is on the same page. By giving people a general idea of what is going on at the start, players will have something to work off of and build their own story from. Story Setting. Another important part of your roleplay is giving a setting. Where is the story taking place? What is the state of the world? What is the name of the town, city, forest, planet, etc? What kind of imagery can you give them to help convey this setting? Profiles. You don't neccessarily need a profile page, though one can be easily created in the OOC thread. A simple list of character names and players assigned to them will make it easier for everyone to know who's playing who. It also helps to separate canon character profiles (characters from a pre-existing story) from those of made-up or original characters. Rules. Make sure that your roleplayers know what is expected of them. Rules for joining, requirements for posting, and literacy standards are a few of the things you may want to address. Make use of the OOC. The Out Of Character Subforum is a Roleplayers best friend (aside from the actual roleplay thread, of course). Use the OOC to keep your players updated on events, news, character information, plot development, etc. Creating a Character Uniqueness. Here the word has a connotation I do not wish for it to have. Let me make myself clear- Unique does not mean perfect. Maybe in the real world, a girl with an outrageous body, cute temper, and magical powers is unique. Not on Gaia. Anyone can create a Mary-Sue and they aren't always bad. But, try to expand your horizons and make a truly different character. Not everyone is beautiful-- so maybe your character has a serious deformity. Not everyone has an attractive personality-- you could have a character that is greedy or envious or snobby. Most people don't have impressive powers-- Maybe he or she is weak in a world where everyone else has Magic. The idea is that you create a character that is entirely your own, someone who is recognizable and believable.

{faq} Can I create my own roleplay? Certainly. In fact, I would encourage it. You don't even have to ask, just come up with an idea and start your thread!
How do I become a Crewmember? There is no process or applications. Crewmembers will be chosen based on their level of activity and how knowledgable they are.
Are there going to be more subforums? Yep. I am currently open to suggestions for subforum ideas.
Can I create a private roleplay? Yes.
What happens to inactive threads? Threads that are inactive for more than two months will be deleted. If you want your thread to be deleted sooner, change the title to DELETE or PM a crew member to delete it for you. If you want your thread to be saved, change the title to DO NOT DELETE or PM a crewmember to have it locked.
