Okay, since everything here is slower than molasses in January somewhere under the surface of Alaska while being kept in a refrigerator at nearly 0 Kelvin, I would like to start working on something of my own.
The problem being... I'm a complete retard, and can't do it by myself. mrgreen
This is where you sci-fi/mecha/ghostintheshell/whatever fans come in and save my sorry butt! ^_^
I'd like to start up some kind of science fiction RP here in the guild. I would prefer it not be another gundam spin-off, but if it must, it must! Anything to get a good, fast-paced RP going!
I don't have anything tangible yet to throw at anyone, but its definitely in progress! Anyone with ideas, suggestions, or whatever, either PM me, or post it under here, I don't care. Of course, that doesn't give anyone free reign over this thread.
I don't wanna be a strict grumpy-butt about this, but please don't put random crap or negative feedback on here, 'kay? If you've got time to tell me my idea sucks, then you've got time to tell me how to un-suck my ideas! So nyeh! xp
Anyway...yeah, that's it. I hope this goes places, 'cause nothin' else is! XD

Okay, just a note for anyone who might wanna help me...
I like cybernetics. I like cyborgs, prosthetic humans, nanomachines, anything that can make a human... less human. We don't need 100-foot tall robots to be tech-junkies. Even androids or humanoid computers wouldn't be all that bad. I wanna make Star Ocean look like old-school star trek.
Also, I've been bouncing the idea back and forth that the U.S. should be on the verge of a second civil war. Considering how far in the future this would be, a war within the country would be monumentally catastrophic, including but not limited to the destruction of the place entirely.
sadly, that's all I have for now. I need help, guys, c'mon!

I tried to start a semi-futuristic RP. I'd be willing to give one a shot, at least. I'm pretty interested in the notion of artificial life or people who are controlled in some aspects by a computer/machine.

See? Thinking, I like that! And so soon, too ^_^ I's a happy nooblet.
Synthetic humanity, hm? I don't ponder it too much, but hey... its just a little push beyond prosthetics, so why not! Also, the computer control factor can be accessed easily with the concept of nanomachines. Once those get into someone's bloodstream, you can basically hack their systems, so to speak, and do to them whatever you want. Nanomachines are a scary thing, in the wrong hands. eek
More, I want more!! C'mon all you sci-fi nerds out there, contribute to the madness! twisted

This is no white cross, it seems we're out of class...You had me at nanomachines. I was entered in an RP that never got off the ground in another guild that was set in the 3100s. Everyone but the extremely poor had nanobots in their systems, and the higher the level of nanomachines, the higher the suicide rate was. The idea was to figure out why. It sounded like so much fun; too bad no one in the other guild was interested. sad We all are fragile, like statues made of sand...

Yeah, nanomachines rock. Nanomachines causing suicide... yeah, maybe later. not this time. heart
I would like this to NOT end up like the song "The Year 2525". It's a really creepy, depressing song, and basically predicts the world's doom through technology. Yeah... let's not be so grim, yes.
I would like a bigger focus on prosthetics/cyborg-y-ness. I always just called 'em BT's, or BioTechs. Words like "prosthetic" and cyborg are so overused, they almost feel cliche. So, I made up a new one. ^_^
It'd be another race to cause conflict with, it blurs the lines between humanity and technology, and it leaves space for all kinds of cool side-stories. not to mention the main story, if I can get a good one settled on!
One more note: while I want BT to be a factor in this RP, I don't want it to be the FOCUS of the RP. In the time I wanna set this at, having a BT limb, or being almost completely BT is commonplace, whether its accepted or not. This isn't some new "holy assimilation, Batman! yoo'za sai-boh-erg!" kinda deal. Or so I hope.
