Even though I've never held a true firearm in real life, I find then in the video game realm I am a hardcore first-person shootem' up chick. So, in light of this, I thought I'd start a thread to see what other people thought of them. My Personal FPS
F.E.A.R.
I'm a horror flick/gore whore girl and this game still made me jump out of my seat like a pansy.
Bioshock
Big a** dudes with drill arms who demand you call them 'Daddy,' creepy lil girls with glowing yellow eyes, screwed up mutated people with psychosis, and syringes that makes bees shoot out of your arm- what isn't win about that?
Call of Duty 4
Insanity addictive multiplayer with amazing graphics, controls, and features WITH a badass story mode for good measure. All around this game pwns the FPS military genre.
Jericho
Plot was alright, but the gore, oh the gore! How I adore it so. The creepy crawlies, distorted bosses, and crazy a** possession ability was pretty hardcore. It's worth a play.
House of the Dead 2 and Duck Hunter
Classic, nothing more to say.
Anti-Favorites

Get over yourself. You paved the way for others and for that I'm grateful, but other then multiplayer in the first two you're nothing special. You're like the FF7 of FPS; everyone praises you but in reality you're just overrated. Stfu and go to the nearest gamestop to retire yourself to the ages. Anyway, that's just my opinion. xd Post your favorites, b***h at me for being an a**, it's all good.

I dont see the point in that game, you just sit there for hours at a time picking on someone who has just started and doesn't even have most of the decent percs yet... But thats a matter of opinion... Oh and also, the knife just makes CoD and BF2 unbalanced... Come on, a knife can kill you one hit but bullets to the heart cant. That's screwed up... But I do know one FPS that can beat CoD... Yep, you guessed it, Counter Strike. I prefer to have a decent game of CS rather than have some random 12 year old noob camping in one spot with a auto sniper while being hidden by the grass. Ok, this rant has gone on for long enough, if someone disagrees, tell me so I can think of more arguments...

If someone knifing is that big of an issue, then you need to work on your game.

- Halo 1&3
- Honestly, it might be overrated but it has to be one of the best stories that could be told in a first person shooter. The helmet cam video from the first Halo? Made that ******** game for me. The fact that you flew off that ring alone and the feeling I had when I beat it...can't be beat. Though you're right, it is the FFVII of FPS which is a bad thing. I won't touch it now unless it's to beat the story again, I loved the multiplayer but only so much. I'll still look back at it being one of the greats. It had it's own drink too, how can it not be great? Halo 3 Game Fuel? I lived off that this entire winter. (Plus, the books were the only reason I did any book reports in school. The Halo universe it amazing to me.)

Yep, I'm another generic Gamer. I played the hell out'a this. Going back on veteran and attempting Mile High Club? The AC 130? Every moment about this game was classic. The multiplayer took a lot from the single player and...made it multiplayer and it ********' worked. I hate the multiplayer now just because it's too easy. I only hop on with my friend to screw with the serious players in Hardcore S&D. RPG to the floor right off the bat? Hey-o! I love XBL for that soul reason of trash talk and racism.

I still haven't beaten the single player of either, but multiplayer is all I need to have that game on the top 3 of all time. I'll still pick that game up and kick a** any day. last years Gamebattles Tournament we made the top 5. It's too bad we all went our own way once other games came out. And just so we're all clear, I was telling everyone how amzing the FAMAS was the 1st few days but nooo. " I wike teh mp9 homo gun." Now it's not cool too use...posers.
-Farcry: Instincts
Great Story, and great Mutiplayer with the map editor. Plenty of hours perfecting maps.
-Medal of Honor
I was raised on these games. My dad would pick me up, we'd rush home and just take turns beating it. All of them are classics to me.
I'm sure there's plenty more.
@Achikah: F.E.A.R. was awesome, it truly was, just not a classic for me. And I couldn't get into Bioshock. I don't know what I missed seeing how much it was nominated for and ish. I started 15min in and played it for a few hours...couldn't get into it. It wasn't bad, just didn't like it. Graphics didn't even seem all that good. Maybe it was the weapons were a little over the top. With the shotgun thing...and what not...at least in Halo they were generic but made sense for the most part.

I mean, the story is so great, and it was one of the first games to use cut scenes as we know them today, to tell that story. Battles don't get more epic than Cloud vs. Sephiroth. Halo dose not compare to FF7 in anyway, Halo has and anti-climactic story that ends in the 3rd game, the way it should have in the second. FF7 = Halo's story x100, and all in one game, not three. Quit hating.

For the record, though, Crisis Core's soundtrack can take me to bed any day. Seriously, I get my headphones and PSP, lay down, crank it up and I'm all set.

...and you like Genesis? But he's Gackt? Gackt is like one of the most plastic Japanese men out there. And he does questionable things. For a person like me to refer to questionable things in a negative light is bad. >_>
