Rules and Guidelines
- Bumping goes in the The Offical Bump Thread.
Literacy counts! Proper spelling and punctuation is a must. A few spelling mistakes are okay, but don't come in gung-ho with 1337 and chatspeak.
Include a poll with every thread. After all, this is a poll guild.
RPs should have the [RP] tag in front of the thread title (For example, "[RP] The End of Days").
Quests should have the [Q] tag.
Trading threads (trading gold, game items...anything, really) should have the [T] tag.
Thread games (word association, etcetera) should have the [G] tag.
Two-Strike System
The idea is pretty simple. You get strikes for breaking the rules. Once a member earns two strikes, he or she will be discharged from the guild.
Here is what will help you get out of the guild fastest:
- Making bump threads or bumping outside the The Offical Bump Thread:
Violating the Terms of Service: automatic ban
Consistent infringement of proper grammar and spelling: 1/2 strike
All strikes are reset after three months of the most recent [fraction of a] strike. Banned members will be able to reenter the guild after a week.
Unallowed Threads
- Bump threads (excluding The Offical Bump Thread)
Invectives against other members
Guild Voice Recordings
We have voice recordings made in the guild. Think of these as podcasts that aren't updated on a daily basis. The voice recordings are made in mp3 and recorded at 64 kbps. They cover topics discussed in the guild, members, and other requested topics.
Please visit the Official Guild Voice Recordings thread for more information.
IRC Channel
We have a new Intellectual Idiots Poll Guild IRC channel for you guys to hang out at. You can kick it here when you're taking a break from pollwhoring or posting or whenever you like. Here's what you need to know:
- Server: chat.serenia.net
- Channel: #ennui
If you are confused and you still want to enter the channel, you should click here: http://urlcut.com/1bsuh
Use this if you do not have an IRC client. But if you do plan on looking for some clients, here is a very small list of some:
- mIRC (http://www.mirc.com)
Chatzilla (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/16/)
Xchat (http://www.xchat.org)
Xchat 2 (http://silverex.info/download/)
A list of IRC clients
Note: XChat is apparently only a trial version for Windows. mIRC says it is a trial version...but in actuality, it is not. XChat2 is supposedly a free version of XChat for Windows; I have not yet confirmed this, but it's worth a try.
There is another Java client at http://www.serenia.net that allows you to connect there. However, after signing onto the network, you must be sure to type /join #ennui.
How do I connect with a client?
