But I only recently found out that Canada invoked the War Measures Act in 1970, which basically means Martial Law. I never knew that. Under Trudeau of all people, who was Prime Minister for like 20 years cuz he was so popular. (And yes, our system is different from yours in the States.)
It surprised me, cuz I never knew that.

I don't know anything about Canadian history but why did they invoke it in 1970. Something about October Crisis is all I have heard.
