At the heart of Ghaleon's regime is this secret location, which is unknown to the entire world. It's existence has been long forgotten, and the fortress itself lies hidden beneath the earth. None can reach this fortress save for the Emperor and his closest warriors, and it is here that the mysteries of the past may be uncovered.

The secret to the power of the Magic Empire, the slow decay of the rest of the world, and the great battles of the past all lie here. However, discovering these things, one can never return to the life they once knew. It is then, that they must stand and fight, once and for all, for the life and future of the world against the dark forces of the Emperor.

The Fortress has nine levels prior to the top, which house several deadly creatures and the final Generals of the Magic Emperor. And then finally, atop the Fortress, is the Goddess Tower of Althena, the pinnacle of the power of the Magic Empire.

The history and the secrets of the Goddess Tower is retained by the Magic Emperor alone, and his late apprentice, Nash.

It is impossible to enter the Fortress (unless you are Ghaleon or one with his permission) until it has been raised from beneath the ground, and even afterwards, a special mode of transportation (Key Item or Event) is required to reach it.

(Official battles of the few residents of the Grindery and Althena's Fortress are held within the walls of this castle.)

With the Gardens finally empty and the Grindery standing like a silent Guardian to the south, the time which Ghaleon had always waited for had come. No more would the ignorant creatures whose aimless wandering had been leading to the slow decay of his beautiful area of repose. The same creatures whose pathetic lives had lead to the slow decay of the very world...

At the top of the Fortress that once played home to the Goddess Althena sat the tower of the Goddess, the pinnacle of power for the one who wields Althena's power. The Goddess Tower rose high into the clouds, as the floating Fortress of Althena loomed ominously in the dark skies above the Grindery tower. And in that tower, atop the staircase which had once been ascended by the late Dragonmaster Dyne and the Goddess Althena, stood a single man whose silver hair lifted lightly with the breeze.

His name, was Ghaleon. The Magic Emperor Ghaleon.

Raising his long, lithe fingers to the sky, an inward rush of power began to flow from the world into a glowing ball at his tips. The colors were simply amazing as they flew into his magical summoning, and the world itself seemed stripped of its life as he did so. A cool smirk sat upon his lips as the magic finished gathering, and he looked down towards the world below evilly.

The time of Judgment was at hand.

"Althena's Light, Shine Forth!" he called simply, before releasing the magic back out into the world in an overwhelming rush.

And then, all that everyone knew was gone...

Moments seemed like minutes, and minutes seemed like days as the nothingness of the world lingered. All that remained of the existence that was rested calmly at the fingertips of the man known as the Magic Emperor. He gazed out upon the remnants of what was, and idly he wondered how he should replace things.

The decision was ultimately his, and he knew somehow that he must make it better than it was before. He would give it order, he knew...the random dispersion of that which was would be replaced with an ordered existence...10 known areas of the world would house all the different types of people that would be reborn.

10 cities, villages, or whatever else he deemed suitable would be the template for his recreation of the world. Those whose attitudes could not be trusted would be created this one last time, a final mercy of the man whose noble intentions had been mutated by a lifetime of hatred and pain. They would be seperated from his followers, however, and would be subject to the scrutiny of those in whom he believed.

Those who believed would be graced with the most beautiful of existences, and cities that were wonderful beyond their imagination. The others would be placed accordingly, and then finally, the world would have the order it had so desperately needed.

A fresh start...a Magic Empire...that was what he would give this world which he could now call his own. Those who believed would flourish and those who did not would soon be eliminated.

Gazing out upon the world one final time, the Emperor's eyes softened. None would disgrace his home and Garden without punishment any longer. They would be permitted to keep their own lives, so long as they did not cross him. This was his gift...this was his mercy.

He lowered his hand and the magic rushed outward again...a wave of recreation for the world which he loved. When the beautiful light atop the tower of the Goddess dimmed, the world had been changed.

The age of the Magic Empire had begun.

His will done, and his power spent, the Emperor fell to a knee atop the Goddess Tower. The scabbard of the sword hit the ground with a clang, and his breath was deep and labored. Sweat beads rolled down his head, but a satisfied smirk sat upon his lips. A shimmer of deep purple around him the only sign of energy still in his pale body.

He glanced out from his elevated throne and saw the world which he had created and smiled slightly. Satisfied for the moment, a small light shined with the last of his energy, and the Emperor was gone.

*Sephiroth stood at the foot of the mountainous throne of magnificance and merely thought to himself where his Emperor is.*

Master Ghaleon... what am I to do? My time is little, and my responsiblity so great. Will you allow me to float as I have been, or will my loyalty be enough until my complete return? I do wish I could serve consistantly again... truly.

*Sephiroth walked and then took flight leaving his leader's greatest home in the dust.*
