Midgar, the Floating City Shinra Corp. Officers Hojo A mad scientist with a God complex, Hojo works for the ShinRa Corporation as their chief researcher and developer. A man who will do absolutely anything in the name of science, he has used live humans and Cetra as test subjects, injected Jenova cells into a child in the womb, and even tried to destroy all of Midgar to prove his hypothesis correct. And if that wasn't enough to convince you the man was crazy, not only did he shoot and then experiment on Vincent Valentine when he was still a Turk, but he is also the biological father of the Black Wizard, Sephiroth. Heidegger The Head of the ShinRa Public Safety Maintenance Department, or otherwise, the head of the ShinRa Army. This includes the elite SOLDIER unit, and the Turks. Heidegger is Rufus' right-hand man when it comes to giving orders around ShinRa Corporation, and is known best for his violent temper and his ridiculous horse-laugh. Scarlet Head of ShinRa's Weapons Development Department, Scarlet aspires to create the perfect weapon. Unfortunately, she doesn't trust her colleagues to use it properly even if she does. Scarlet is actually very clever, and is also cunning and ruthless. She assisted in the design and creation of the MAKO Cannon, and is responsible for several of the reactors throughout the world. She is also known quite well for her own peculiar laugh. Reeve Tuesti Head of ShinRa's Urban Development Department, Reeve Tuesti is one of the few members of the company with a genuine concern for the people of the world. While he often disagrees with Rufus' decisions, he lacks the authority to overturn them. Instead, he uses the robotic cat-moogle Cait Sith as a way of keeping an eye on things around the world...all from his seat back in Midgar. Palmer Palmer is the Head of the now-defunct ShinRa Space Program. Other than serving as a "yes-man" to the President and begging for scraps of money in hopes of one day reviving the program, Palmer serves little purpose in the grand scheme of ShinRa. He wields a MAKO gun for protection, and was once hit by a truck running away from Cloud and his friends. Turks Tseng Tseng is the longest-tenured of all the Turks, and the de-facto leader of their group. Serving directly under Heidegger and Rufus, Tseng is often given the most dangerous and important duties of all the Turks, and often accompanies SOLDIERs into battle as well. Powerful, brilliant, and chillingly cold, Tseng is as good as his job as one can get. HOLY Commander Martin Zigmar, Captain of HOLYAltar Power: ??? (S-Class) The oldest known altar user, Martin Zigmar was chosen to become the captain of ShinRa's HOLY Unit due to his knowledge of altar and the S-Class power of his altar. Still, few if any have ever seen his altar at work, and what exactly his power is remains somewhat of a mystery to even the members of HOLY. His wisdom and power is respected throughout HOLY nevertheless, and his commands are followed without question, as they are usually relayed from the President of ShinRa himself. Asuka Tachibana Altar Power: The 8 Treasure Balls, aka: The Eternity 8 (B-Class) A respected and honorable member of the HOLY unit, Asuka Tachibana has the ability to wield the 8 Treasure Balls, or the Eternity 8...a versatile altar consisting of 8 green balls coursing with altar power. Each Treasure Ball floats and flies at the will of its commander, and can be used for several purposes. One of which is altar-weaponry, in which Asuka can form a staff or a bow using his treasure balls that contain a great power. Another is shielding, in which the balls circle and create a shield of altar and energy that protects him from attacks. Yet another is flight, in which the same idea as the shield is used, only Asuka places it below him and controls it to lift him into the sky. And a final use is mind control, in which a single ball touches a person's forehead and grants him access to their mind and control of their body. Tachibana believes strongly in the mission of HOLY, but his true purpose in joining them is to prove his power and worth to a girl... Elian Altar Power: Absolute Perception (A-Class) The product of a cloning project on the mainland some years ago, Elian is unaware of the details of his upbringing, only that his biological father is Martin Zigmar...something he keeps well hidden himself. Elian is always watching the events of the world using his Absolute Perception, which allows him to tap open video and audio feed to just about anywhere on the planet, as well as read an opponent on the battlefield. Quiet and obedient, Elian is useless on a battlefield, but from the sidelines, can have quite an impact if he so chooses. Urizane Altar Power: Unnamed (B-Class) A young HOLY member with a very unique (versatile) altar power, Urizane is fiercely loyal to the ideals of HOLY, perhaps even moreso than to the commander or Ryuho. Urizane is unafraid to throw himself into battle if he feels he is needed, but prefers not to mix it up when others have it under control. His altar power allows him to manipulate watermelons from a sack he carries on his shoulder to do many different things. He can fire them as a powerful altar powered attack, detonate them, make them grow to enormous sizes, travel via a strange form of teleportation through them, and even create a makeshift communications tower out of them. But mostly, he just likes to eat them... UnkeiAltar Power: Mad Sprict (B-Class) The self-proclaimed "World's Greatest Playwrite", Unkei has the ability to write a script and make the unwitting around him act according to its design. He usually remains in the background of HOLY, but when called upon, he plays his part to perfection. Scheris Adjani Altar Power: Eternal Devote (C-Class) Scheris Adjani is a newer member of HOLY who joined when she was saved from a band of thugs by the HOLY captain Ryuho and his altar, Zetsuei. Since then, she has fallen somewhat in love with the green-haired captain, and serves him far more loyally than she does HOLY itself. While she is usually non-combatant, she can always be found on the scene of HOLY missions, either working on clean-up or public relations. Scheris has a quick tongue to those she dislikes, but beneath her fiesty exterior, she really is a deeply caring woman. Scheris has never mastered her altar power, but practices it regularly in the event Ryuho might ever need her. She would give her very life if he needed it... Mimori Kiryu Altar Power: None A scientist researching native altars, Mimori is the only member of HOLY without an altar of her own. Still, her research has proven valuable in the understanding and development of altar powers, even if her actions have grown more and more suspicious of late. She is a childhood friend of Ryuho, and came to Midgar to see him again...hence why she joined HOLY. Her loyalties, however, are very questionable, and she is to be kept under silent observation at all times. Sou Kigetsuki Altar Power: Dream Girls aka: the Tokonatsu Sisters (A-Class) Sou Kigetsuki has only the second altar power capable of independent movements and thoughts. The Dream Girls, or the Tokonatsu Sisters as he has named them, were created out of his desire to be loved by the perfect woman...and his hatred of the complicated women of the world. Each beautiful sister has her own personality, looks, and abilities, which include a sly ability of persuasion which can trick the unwitting into abiding by Kigetsuki's will. The three of them together have the ability to fuse and become a hideous, but powerful monster which also acts according to his will. Sou himself is somewhat egotistical, and believes his Dream Girls love is all he needs to be the strongest altar user alive. Emergy Maxfell Altar Power: Super Pinch Crusher (B-Class) Emergy is a weak kneed, English accented member of HOLY who joined for the more comfortable parts of life, rather than scraping for a living in Lost Ground. Despite his appearance, however, he will accept any challenge and once cornered, his altar ability summons the powerful Super Pinch Crusher. This altar was created through his subconcious fears of the past, when he was cornered on the edge of a cliff by his own family and friends who thought that his ability to use an altar power were abominations and attempted to remove him. In reaction to his fears, his altar powers took on the form of his favorite toy, the Super Pinch Crusher, and since then it has only spawned when he feels a danger equal to that of the past. George Tatsunami Altar Power: Big Magnum (C-Class) George Tatsunami is your average everyday badguy with one acception, his altar ability. Once enlisted into HOLY he was able to push around any non-city residents using his status. His altar ability, Big Magnum, summons a large 6-shooter that can easily destroy a house with it's bullet, and is controlled by what is normally a toy gun at his side, but transforms into the controlling device once he has activated his altar. Darths Altar Power: Unnamed The Darths are the special tactical unit of HOLD, and are deployed in almost every HOLY related mission. Despite the belief that all altars are unique, the Darths seem to have the same abilities in that they can summon large hands. While this altar ability on it's own does not seem exceptional, together they can be a formidable force. Where the Darths come from is an enigma, and the process by which they get the same altars is one of the greatest mysteries of HOLD. Tsviets (Deepground Captains) Azul the Cerulean A hulking beast of a man at 9 feet 8 inches tall, Azul (33) was once a prized SOLDIER recruit who was placed in the Deepground program by the mad scientist, Hojo. Regarded as a warrior of amazing skill and power, even amongst the Tsviets, Azul uses his amazing strength to wield a tank-barrel cannon as a weapon. He was also one of three Tsviets on whom the Metamorphose testing was done, allowing him to transform into his Behemoth-like ArchAzul form. Azul also possesses something like the Final Attack Materia, in that once each time he enters battle he revives from a fatal injury. Shelke the Transparent Though she appears to be the age of 11, Shelke Rui is actually 19 but has had her physical development halted by the experimentation on her as a member of Deepground. Shelke wields two EM sabers and possesses extreme speed in battle. Her greatest ability is the SND (Synaptic Net Dive), however, which allow her to create her residual image and dive into the network to negotiate with data on the subconscious planes of sentient life forms. Shelke is the only member of the Tsviets who remains "colorless", and has a sister named Shalua Rui. Rosso the Crimson Rosso (25) is the third recruit of the Tsviets and has a psychotic lust for bringing death and pain to those whom she encounters in battle. Wielding her double-bladed weapon (which is also capable of gunfire), and acting with exceptional speed and skill, she is capable of fighting on level with just about anyone she comes across. She is fiercely loyal to Weiss the Immaculate, and has no conscience about who she kills or what she destroys in his name. She is also very egotistical, and would likely take her own life simply to deprive another the "honor" of taking it from her. Nero the Sable Nero (23) is the second recruit of the Tsviets, brother to Weiss the Immaculate, and has been known to secretly act as their commander in Weiss's stead at times, when he has been incapacitated. As the only successful subject of the G Substance Project at the fetal stage (his mother was sucked into the darkness upon his birth), Nero's body is covered in darkness at all times and can never be clearly seen. Nero the Sable has the ability to draw anyone around him into a black hole that can only be escaped by his will, or if that person has a greater darkness than himself. Also, as a participant in the metamorphose experiment, he is capable of transforming into Arachnero in battle, a large, mechanical spider-like being which is just as deadly as Nero himself. Nero's arms are bound to his body the majority of the time, and it is said that this is to restrain his dark power. Weiss the Immaculate Weiss the Immaculate is the Emperor of the Deepground as he is the strongest of the Tsviets and contains all of their abilities within himself. A former SOLDIER who wields two katana/rifle hybrids, he is both feared and respected throughout Deepground...though few can claim to have ever actually seen him. Most Wanted!!!! 5) Dr. Lucrecia Crescent Whereabouts: Unknown Status: Unknown Lucrecia was a longtime scientist in the ShinRa's Scientific Research and Development Department before she left the company due to the guilt she felt over the death of Grimoire Valentine, the suffering of Vincent Valentine, and visions of the ill-deeds of her biological son, Sephiroth. Since she has Jenova cells in her body, she cannot die easily, and therefore, is known to be still living somewhere in the world. Reports indicate that she is somewhere in the Gold Saucer area on Ordalia Continent. "Operation Crescent Dawn" has been issued to locate and recover her to continue her work for the company. 4) Jean Havoc Whereabouts: Midgar Slums Status: Located in Sector 4 Jean Havoc was a Lieutenant in the State Military of Callisto for a short while under Lieutenant Colonel Roy Mustang during the reign of the Fuhrer. Unfortunately, with the loss of Callisto came the disbanding of the State Military, sending its former soldiers either into the service of the Resistance in the new Costa del Sol, or out of the city without a job. It seems that Havoc has made his way to Midgar and is trying to raise support for a new State Military Organization in the slums of Midgar. Though it is estimated his threat is very limited, it is best to n** these things in the bud before they can get a chance to grow. "Operation Passing Storm" has been issued to see to his capture and break up his fledgling group. 3) Rory Childers Whereabouts: Tokyo Status: At Large Rory Childers is an environmentalist leading a video campaign against the ShinRa Corporation's Makou Reactors and our worldwide expansion. He had posed very little problem to us in the past, but has stepped up his anti-ShinRa activity since seeking the protection of the Tokyo Government and making his base in an underground facility there. His videos are turning citizens worldwide against the company, and therefore, his work must be brought to an end. "Operation Smooth Descent" has been issued to destroy his anti-ShinRa campaign and to capture and/or eliminate Mr. Childers. 2) Kazuma the Shell Bullet Whereabouts: Unknown Status: At Large Kazuma is a Native Alter whose anti-HOLY actions have garnered him a reputation as the most powerful and dangerous of all Native Alters in and around Midgar. His attacks against HOLY and ShinRa have left several company employees and officers severely injured, and several of our expansion points from Rocket Town to Luca to Junon have suffered losses at the hand of this man. His power is known as the "Shell Bullet", and he is considered armed and extremely dangerous. By the command of Martin Zigmar he is to be taken down on site, but kept alive if at all possible for return to the HOLY offices in Midgar. No mission has been posted for his capture, and his location remains unknown. 1) Kongol Whereabouts: Outside Rocket Town Status: At Large Kongol was a high ranking member of ShinRa's SOLDIER program for several years before, for whatever reason, he grew disillusioned with the company and left. After avoiding the eye of the ShinRa for some time, he has now been located outside of Rocket Town and is rallying support for an anti-ShinRa campaign. He is a warrior with exceptional skill, and could be a very dangerous foe if he is able to mount an offensive against us. This is why "Operation Black Dagger" has been posted, to eliminate him before he raises enough support to become a true threat. Deadly force has been authorized...Kongol is wanted dead or alive.

Status: President of the Shinra CorporationAppearance: Name: Rufus Shinra Race: Human Player Level: ElitePower Level: AveragePrize for Victory: Keys to Shinra Tower (The power of the Shinra becomes yours! Command the Turks, the Shinra Army, and even wield the unstoppable MAKO Cannon and Junon Cannon!)Height: 6'2 Weight: 145 lbs. Bio: Rufus is the owner of the Shinra Company, who ruled the world and built the amazing mako reactors that brought energy to the world. Under its monopolization it was able to take over cities, build more mako reactors, secure jobs, destroy anything that got in its way, and single handedly rule the world, though it always managed to retain its popularity with the world by showing a nice face. However, when Sephiroth reappeared he killed Rufus' father, Rufus threw away the customs, deciding to rule it in fear. During the upheaval that Sephiroth caused in the earth however, many Weapons were summoned, and during a great raid on the city of midgar the Diamond Weapon managed to land a hit, supposedly killing Rufus. It was found nearly two years later though that he had lived, and in one amazingly bold act he threw himself, along with a prized posession of the current threat to the earth out of a window, leaving us to wonder on what might have happened to the bold man...until now. He has come out, reasserting his dominance and lending his reestablished power to Ghaleon's regime. As a player, Rufus is much as he was in the Final Fantasy game. He is cunning, brilliant, and willing to do absolutely whatever it takes to execute his will to its fullest. The Shinra President is amazingly resourceful, almost never failing to find a way to escape whatever calamity may threaten to befall he and his empire. Though his personal, physical power has always been a question, his ability to win and exert his will have NEVER been in question. Attacking Rufus is like attacking an army...a huge and powerful army...with tazers...

Status: The 5th ChildAppearance: Name: Kaworu Nagisa Alias: Tabris, The 5th Child, The 17th Angel Race: Human and Angel (Not part, but completely both.) Player Level: ElitePower Level: Super ElitePrize for Victory: Adam's Will (Grants the ability to control those who contain the cells of Adam), Kaworu's Free Will (Grants the ability to resist all forms of manipulation or control, and to retain free will of mind and body.)Height/Weight: Unknown Eyes: Red Hair: Silver Weapons: None Bio: As the last Angel spawned from Adam (the 1st Angel), Kaworu holds the power of the other 16 Angels of Adam. However, while the other angels chose forms that were not quite humaniod, Kaworu chose a completely human form for reasons that are not known. With an ability to hold an AT Field for as long as he is living and the ability to control anything that was either spawned from Adam or is vacant of soul, the reluctant Angel holds near ultimate power. However, it would appear that Kaworu is quite fond of humanity, and is more willing to sacrifice the lives of the Angels than to kill those who are human, or "Lilan" (e.g. "Of Lillith", the 2nd Angel) as he calls them. Kaworu is the only Angel of Adam to escape his ultimate programming (to recover the embryonic form of Adam and begin the process of Final Genesis) and act according to his own decisions. In his past life, he allowed himself to be crushed by Shinji (an EVA pilot whom he befriended before Adam activated his true objective) and Evangelion Unit 01 (a living creature created from the cells of Adam, covered in state-of-the-art armor and controlled by EVA pilots.) as opposed to living out his otherwise immortal existence, despite his opportunity to destroy humanity. His reappearance in the Grindery, however, can only mean trouble for whomever Adam's cells deem "the Enemy". As a player, Kaworu has proven himself to be very capable of handling himself when the chips are down. He is extremely intelligent, wise to the world, and controls a very volatile power of his own. An ominously calm person, Kaworu's demeanor belies a person who was given life for the single purpose of destroying the human race, and a person with easily enough power to do so. He is the angel of free will, and so he chooses not to destroy human existence...for now.

Status: The 3rd ChildAppearance: Name: Shinji Ikari/ Eva No.01 Race: Human and Eva Player Level: GoodPower Level: Very StrongPrize for Victory: Lance of Longinus (A long, celestial lance that can pierce through anything, straight to the heart of an enemy.)Height/Weight: Unknown Eyes: brown Hair: brown Weapons: Assorted weaponry Bio: Shinji is the son of Gendo and Yui Ikari, a great genious who is the head of a large military institute, NERV. NERV was built after the Second Impact, in which the First Angel detonated itself and destroyed the polar icecaps, destroying the current geographic outlines and having the fallout destroy half of the human race. Shinji was chosen to pilot Eva No.01, supposedly the most powerful of the three, and arrived on the day the Third Angel appeared once again, fifteen years after the Second one. He is generally quiet and questions many orders that he is given, if he sees something wrong with them. He has come to the guild under mysterious circumstances, perhaps having to do with the reappearance of the angels. As a player, Shinji is very timid and prefers to be alone most of the time. However, deep down, he really wishes for a friend who understands him, and understands his desire not to fight. Yet, Shinji always seems to find himself being forced to fight, and he is no stranger to combat. With EVA Unit 01 in his control, he is always ready for combat.

Status: Captain of HOLYAppearance: Name: Ryuhou (Also: Ryuho) Race: Human Alter-User Player Level: StrongPower Level: StrongPrize for Victory: Gale Crest (Launches two attacks before his opponent can use one!)Height: 6'1 Weight: 152 Weapon: His Alter, Zetsuei Bio: After watching his mother and dog die at the hands of an Alter user, Ryuhou's latent alter power awakened, fusing the bodies of the dead to create Zetsuei. Because of its origin, Zetsuei is blessed with unimaginable power, superior to that of nearly any other alter. 6 years after the incident, Ryuhou is found to be part of an organization that tracks down and captures rogue or native alters, called HOLY (a smaller branch of the organization HOLD, for those with Alter power). He was without rival on the scale of alters until one day he meets a man named Kazuma, who he defeats soundly...at first. However, Kazuma refuses to give up, and after two more fights, the two seem to be dead even! In their third battle, their amazing power rips open a gate to the "Other Side", a dimension that is the source of Alter power, increasing their power even more. After a series of events, Ryuhou is forced to work with Kazuma to defeat and even more powerful Alter user, and rescue a mutual friend of the two rivals. After the gruelling battle, which they barely managed to win, the Ryuhou and Kazuma still never managed to reconcile, and it is said their rivalry rages on to this day. When word reaches Ryuhou's ears of an amazing power in this area of the world, he cannot help but wonder if there are more rogue alters stirring up trouble. It is his personal mission to defeat any rogue alter users, and prove once and for all he is the superior warrior to Kazuma. As a player, Ryuho has not been very active, but his strength is certainly unquestioned. With the thinking alter Zetsuei, Ryuho's skill is amplified by his own abilities' skill. Experience in the system and in the area is his biggest downfall, so using that to your advantage might put you over the edge against this foe.

Bio: ...As a player, Reno had been relatively inactive until he appeared to serve the orders of his President Rufus, single-handedly dispatching two high-ranking members of Cyril's Althena's Chosen without breaking a sweat. Though not as outspoken as the others, he will fight just as hard (and well) for his president's cause. Appearance: Name: Leos Klein Race: Human (Raven) Player Level: StrongPower Level: GoodPrize for Victory: Raven Status (Gains a liscense to pilot the awesome mecha fighting mobiles known as Ravens. Without it, piloting is impossible. Buy your own Raven.)Height: 62 ft Weight: 5000 lbs. Bio: After the worst was realized and an apoctolyptic battle was fought, the human race was left in a state of turmoil. In the recovery process many corporations rose to power, creating advanced technology and taking over the monitoring of basic human needs. In an attempt to increase their personal power and wealth, the companies employed Ravens, or advanced mecha-combat units to battle for them. The newly restored government, seeing the damage these battles were doing to the average citizens, employed the company's own source of combatants, along with their own Special Forces developed from ex-Ravens of top class, to put a stop to the wars. When peace was finally obtained a ceremony was held to announce the disassembling of the Raven mercenary fold: Enter Leos Klein. Leos had been the best Raven of his time, undefeated and extremely intelligent. When the director of the new government arrived to announce the restoration of peace, Klein and the Special Forces revolted, slaughtering those in charge of the government and leading a revolution throughout the planet. After a series of battles for the space station Raptier, a military fortification and even the STAI floating Military Station against an unlikely hero, the Ravens, Leos was at last located on the Martian moon of Phoebos. Leos stated that humans could not rule themselves or the past would keep reoccuring, and humanity would be eliminated. In the end a heroic Raven pilot went in to challenge Klein, finding to late he had merged with the control center of an ancient weapon and a unique race of combatants known as Disorder units. The ancient weapon turned out to be Phoebos itself, but Klein was never able to activate it as the Raven at last beat him in the very hall where the weapon could be activated. Klein has since allied himself with Midgar, apparently due to the war it's sure to bring, and the money to be made in the deal. Although he's yet to win a battle, his control over many Special Forces makes him a deadly foe.

Status: Turk of the Shinra CorporationAppearance: Name: Elena Noel Alias: Reno's Backup, The Girl Turk Race: Human Player Level: GoodPower Level: AveragePrize for Victory: Turk Sunglasses (Defends against most forms of light/holy attacks/magics.)Height: 5'6 Weight: 125 Weapons: Special Abilities: Materia Use, Turk Training Bio: (I hope nobody minds too much, but I took a few liberties with my character to make her more interesting! Nothing major though, I promise! She's still the same Elena. sweatdrop ) Elena Noel was a young girl who lived in Midgar from the time she was born until she was sixteen with her parents. Growing up in the industrial city, she watched as the skies darkened with the growth of the Shinra Corporation. This never bothered her very much, as her entire life had been quite rough from the very beginning. Her father was an alcoholic who hated the Shinra Corporation while her mom was a low level employee who was constantly being berated and beaten by her father. Elena was relatively untouched by her father, but occasionally when she would try and help her mother, she would be shoved to the ground and scolded...this was all very normal to her. She watched as her father's hatred of Shinra caused him to slowly become less and less of a good person, and more and more of the monster that would come home with beer on his breath and torture her mom. She hated her father for that, and she admired her mother for her strength to endure it. While Elena would spend her days in the low-budget schools of Midgar, her mother would go to her job every day while her father would dissappear. From what she gathered, her mom was often questioned about the marks that marred her appearance at work, but she rarely spoke about it...but this was the Shinra Corporation, after all, and it wouldn't have been hard at all for them to find out what had been happening. And find out they did, after her mother's ambition rose her all the way to the desk of the President's Secretary. The President Shinra immediately took interest in his newest underling, and with his the same sly charm with which he cajoled the public into believing all his lies, he tricked her into telling him about her husband and his hatred of the Shinra. A few days later, a man named Tseng...a Turk of the Shinra Corp...came to Elena's house looking for her father. He'd told her mom that they'd discovered he was working with a terrorist group who intended to destroy the Shinra Corporation and bring fear to the entire City of Midgar. It was hard to believe, but both Elena and her mother agreed that they had no reason to distrust the man. So, that night they waited in their home with Tseng until their father came through the door, drunker and more violent than ever. Blood was on his clothes as he burst through the door, grabbing his wife by the throat and choking her while screaming, "You told them, didn't you! They raided our base and arrested and killed them all! You b***h! I'll kill you!" Hearing the commotion, Tseng and Elena ran from the living room just in time to see the last bit of life drain from her mother's body. As the man turned to Elena with a snarl, he lunged at her screaming just the same, but Tseng was faster. With a single well-placed bullet to the head, Elena's father fell to the ground dead. Shocked and now suddenly scared for her future, Elena found comfort in Tseng's weak embrace. He knew that she now had no means by which to take care of herself, so he did something which he was not normally accustomed to doing...he gave her a break. By offering to help her get hired by the Shinra Corporation and pay her rent until she was on her feet, Tseng became somewhat of a hero to her...if not something more. Though a bit traumatized, Elena used her love of the Shinra, her hatred of her father, and her idol worship of Tseng to fuel her work in the company. She quickly gained rank and obtained better jobs, until she finally neared her goal...becoming a Turk, just like Tseng. She was told that she would have to undergo a long, extremely trying training period which few had ever completed, but Elena had no doubts about it...she wanted to be a Turk, no matter what. It had been everything they'd promised and more, and it had taken every last ounce of her strength and will to stay in the program. When she finished, however, she was finally prepared to join the group. There was only one thing standing in her way, however...the Turks were full, and in no need of an extra member. She'd come so far, and she was on the verge of joining Tseng, the man who'd saved her life...so she waited until her time would come. And come it did, when Reno was injured in his first encounter with Cloud and his gang. In need of a temporary replacement, it was Tseng who handpicked Elena for promotion to take his place while he was gone. That was how it started... Now, Elena has become a full-time Turk, and works her best to keep up with the dynamic duo of Reno and Rude. Though she is a bit prone to screwing up ( sweatdrop ), she's a hard worker and is a valuable asset to the Turks and Shinra. She's willing to do any job just to prove herself to the other Turks (especially Tseng, who she still has somewhat of an idol worship of, though she doesn't really "like" him like him as much anymore), and can always be counted on to lend a helping hand.

Status: 1st Class SOLDIERAppearance: Name: Zack Race: Human enhanced with Mako and Jenova Cells Player Level: Power Level: Prize for Victory: Age: 21 Height: 173 cm Weight: ??? Weapons: Buster Sword, Hard Edge, Special Abilities: Incredible agility, speed, aptitude for magic, and other skills due to materia, mako, and Jenova cells. Bio: Zack was an aspiring SOLDIER from the village of Gongaga who always dreampt of becoming SOLDIER 1st Class. When he was 17 he finally reached the prestigeous 1st Class, but the Wutain war had ended, leaving him with no opportunity for glory. Desperate to prove himself worthy of the same class as the Legendary Sephiroth, Zack saught a mission to prove himself. His chance came at last, when a report was issued saying that a makou reactor in Nibelheim was malfunctioning, creating powerful monsters that terrorized citizens. Zack, along with the legendary Sephiroth were assigned to the mission with a small number of normal soldiers, and went to investigate. Accompanying them on their mission was one of Zack's closest friends in the Shin-ra, the private first class Cloud Strife. During the mission they met up with Tifa Lockheart, whom Zack had also been friends with, and investigated the makou reactor on Mt. Nibel. What they found was disturbing to say the least. It was revealed that average soldiers were being experimented on inside the reactor, producing blood thirsty monsters, and more importantly that they were implementing the creature JENOVA in their experiments. Sephiroth, who witnessed these events, pondered his own knowledge, revealing that his mother was called "Jenova" and that he may have been created in such experiments. Driven mad by the ideas, Sephiroth burned the town, and once confronted once more in the makou reactor at Mt. Nibel, Sephiroth and Zack battled. Although Sephiroth was victorious, Cloud Strife took up Zack's sword and ended the nightmare, leaving the near-dead SOLDIER and private to the Shin-ra's descretion... 5 years later, in an attempt to be free of the Shinra once and for all, Zack broke out from the underground laboratory in the Shinra Mansion, taking along with him Cloud Strife who seemed in a vegetative state. Although Zack fended off multiple SOLDIER 2nd classes, along with average soldiers, he refused to abandon Cloud and at last made it to the main Midgar-Kalm highway. Once there, he managed to hitch-hike in a truck for the better part of the last trip, revealing to Cloud his plans to be a mercenary if they escaped. As fate would have it, however, they were attacked again and Zack took a sniper's bullet for Cloud, severely injuring him. During this last assault Zack attempted bitterly to protect Cloud, but in the end was gunned down by Shin-ra's superior numbers, while Cloud was left for dead (although, as seen in FF7, he lived and took on Zack's persona.). Now, alive once more (although how this is possible is yet to be determined), Zack works for the Shin-ra once more. As a SOLDIER 1st Class, he is a powerful general and is willing to do anything as long as he gets the glory that comes with the assignment. His ultimate ambition is to be held as Sephiroth's superior, and while this may be a hard task to accomplish, he is never the less wiling to give it his all. The makou treatments he received and the fact that he made SOLDIER in the first place are proof that he is more than able to handle adversity (You must be of a physical and mental degree to become a SOLDIER in the first place), and the treatments have made him a warrior worthy of legend.

Status: Turk of the Shinra CorporationAppearance: Name: Kano Alias: The Turk Race: Human Player Level: GoodPower Level: StrongPrize for Victory: Turk Sunglasses (Defends against most forms of light/holy attacks/magics.)Height: 5'10 Weight: 176 Weapons: Twin guns, mako rounds, materia, exlposives. Special Abilities: Materia Use, Turk Training Bio: Kano was born into a poor family in the former city of Callisto under the reign of terror wrought by the Red Dragon Syndicate. At a young age, the boy learned that in a world so corrupt as this one, a man had to fend for himself if he wanted to get by. His parents were cowards in his estimation, and paid protection money to the Syndicate in order to live without incident. It made him resent both his parents and the Syndicate. At the age of fourteen Kano joined a group created to oppose the Red Dragon Syndicate founded on was used to be known as Moroccan Street, and began taking part in missions to slowly eat away at the foundations of the syndicate. Casinos, banks, even once or twice striking the lowest levels of Red Dragon HQ...the group did everything in its power to bring them down. His skill with a gun was exceptional, especially given his age, and his calm in the heat of a firefight was unlike anything those around him had ever seen. Though he never enjoyed the thought of taking life, he knew it was necessary and it just so happened that it came quite naturally to the young man. At the age of sixteen he began to lead missions for his "gang", as he called them, and was handling the complete planning of strikes by the age of seventeen. It was in that year that he made his biggest move...and biggest mistake. Everybody knew back then that the Opera House was neutral territory, and there were none who dared to cross that line with the Syndicate, knowing that the reprecussions of such and act would be far too great to withstand. Kano remembered his parents cowardice, and decided that it was time for some trends to be broken. His plan was to take out Vicious, the new boss of the Red Dragon Syndicate, by bombing his booth at the old opera house. Three hours before the start of the play that night, Kano lead a team of resistance members in through a back door at the Opera House and up to the booth where Vicious held reservations and planted a very complex explosive underneath the chair of the new leader of the Red Dragons. As soon as he sat down, it would be all over for him. With their leader fallen, the resistance would have their window of opportunity, and strike out at the Headquarters of the Syndicate and catch them in complete disarray. It was to be their greatest triumph... Unbeknownst to him, the Syndicate had been keeping a close watch on the Opera House. With the growing courage of the strikes of late, Vicious had been expecting something drastic, and his net of spies finally struck paydirt when the spotted Kano heading into their neutral ground. The syndicate leader wasted no time surrounding the theatre, capturing Kano and his men as they tried to escape. It was, in fact, their greatest failure. Kano's men were killed, though he never felt all that loyal to them to begin with. Fighting with them had been more of a birthright than a conscious choice...it was the only way if he ever hoped to escape the oppression of the Syndicate. Still, it bothered him a little to see them go. However the leader of the Syndicate had kept him alive, telling him that he saw something in him...the look of a true warrior...and the blood of a beast. It meant nothing to him at the time. He was put to work then for the Syndicate, and from there his quality of life improved drastically. Though he still hated the Syndicate, it was by their will that he lived in a fine place near the Beaches of Callisto and ate as he wished on any given night. The company he kept with them was surprisingly friendly, though he never really grew close with any of them, either. They were his enemy still, even if he wore their garments. He reminded himself of this every night when he went to bed on his satin sheets, emblazoned with the seal of the Red Dragon... And then, as quickly as it had come to him, it all vanished... It was literally an overnight change when it occurred, as he woke up one morning to report to the Headquarters only to find the massive building abandoned of all life. No one was there...not a janitor, a secretary, or his 'comrades'. It was as if the Red Dragon had vanished. More likely, he knew, it was that they had relocated or gone underground to side-step the intrusiveness of the State Military which had gained power in Callisto. Vicious had never been one to share power, and the Military was branching out faster than even the Syndicate could check. He knew, because he had been in conflicts with several of them over the course of the past year...he turned 18 a few days later and was arrested by a State Alchemist known as Armstrong as he was picking up a birthday cake and a pack of cigarettes from the local convenient store. His crime was treason against the state, and an accomplice to several incidents of organized crimes such as assault, grand larson, kidnapping, and murder. His sentence was to be life imprisonment... That was when they came calling... The ShinRa Corporation, largest company and energy producer in the known world, struck a bargain with the Fuhrer of the State Military in order to secure his release, which was given upon the agreement that he would serve under them now. A beautiful blond named Scarlett had been the one to inform him of his fate, and for a moment, she had appeared to him an angel in a red dress. Life imprisonment or work in a legitimate company in a city far away from the decadence of Callisto...it sounded too good to be true. And of course, it was... Kano returned to Midgar and was immediately introduced to a man named Heidegger, one he would learn was his new boss in an organization known as "Turks". The job description was nothing new to him. Murder, kidnapping, intimidation...all the things he had done so well with the Red Dragons he would now be doing for the ShinRa Corporation. It was enough to make him sick...but yet, he went on. With the Turks, his apathy for his work changed over time into something of a passion. His mind, it seemed, was changing. So long had he toiled away in the service of causes that he failed to believe in with people that he cared so little about that he began to adapt in the only way he could...he began to enjoy his job. Each new mission posed a challenge which he would attack with a fresher, more intense fervor. After a while, it became about more than just completing the mission. It was about completing it his way, and enjoying every minute of it. His desire to make things flashy grew and grew until it was beginning to affect his work. Putting on a show, or making big waves on the news had become more important than completing the job, and often, his mission would be failures as a result. Heidegger and his Turk Bosses, Verdot and Tseng, were growing more and more irritated, until finally, they came up with a solution to keep his flare for the dramatic in check. Tseng suggested to the other two that he be paired with Roka, a katana-master with one of the most business-like attitudes out of the whole Turks organization. Roka was the no-nonsense type whose cold and calculating demeanor belied a fierce determination to complete a mission as brutally efficient as possible. Nothing got in the way of Roka and completing a mission on time...and it was their hope that this attitude would rub off on Kano. It was anything but a match made in heaven...still, the two somehow managed to find some common ground. As it was with most Turks, the two became regular drinking buddies, frequenting Gren's Bar when off-duty to chat and relax away from their hectic work schedules. The missions the ShinRa assigned a Turk often had the effect of driving them to drink...and Kano was no exception. On the job, however, things were a bit more rocky...and continue to be so. Kano's desire to add a flare to each of his mission often leaves Roka frustrated, wishing for another partner in the field. Likewise, Roka's cold, efficient manner often leaves Kano wishing for a partner who was a little less uptight about the whole thing. Nevertheless, they have managed, and when fighting together are a force to be reckoned with. And, strange as it may seem, Kano seems to have finally found a comrade with whom he has finally developed some sort of bond of friendship...no matter how ridiculous or alcohol-induced it might be.

Status: Turk of the Shinra CorporationAppearance: Name: Roka Alias: The Turk Race: Human Player Level: GoodPower Level: StrongPrize for Victory: Turk Sunglasses (Defends against most forms of light/holy attacks/magics.)Height: 6'1 Weight: 189 Weapons: Katana, Materia, Etc. Special Abilities: Materia Use, Turk Training Bio: Roka was born into a prominent military family in Upper Junon to a General in the ShinRa Army to whom discipline was a religion and a mother whose loyalty to the ShinRa was without question. In fact, if you take a glance at his roots, you might say that Roka was destined for distinguished service in the ShinRa Corporation. That Roka has achieved that is questionable, but only due to the fact that the Turks are a covert organization. Raised by the belief that ShinRa was the only right and true power in the world and that those who opposed them were worthy of the horrible fates which befell them, Roka went into a ShinRa Training academy at an early age. Amongst his classmates, he was amongst the best in each and every subject. To accept less would have been unacceptable to his father, and therefore, unacceptable to Roka. His earliest years flew by in that manner, the young prodigy never truly facing competition at any level of his education. At the age of 17, Roka had graduated a year early and top of his class in the academy, and was well on his way up the ranks of the ShinRa Corporation. In fact, it was whispered he was in line for a big promotion further up the ladder in the ShinRa Military before Heidegger came calling. He was the head of an organization known as the Turks, which carried out important and covert operations in the name of ShinRa to elminate those who foolishly opposed them. The Turks were known and feared throughout the cities of Midgar and Junon as the silent enforcers of the will of the President...an extention of his own will, even. The idea of performing at such an important job under the direct orders of the President and Heidegger was too much to pass up, and so Roka forewent his opportunity further up the military ranks to enlist. Roka's impact was immediate. His record in his earliest days was impeccable, having spent three years without a single failed mission. It seemed that the prodigy was, indeed, living up to the high standards his family had set for him. For his own part, the quiet and disciplined Turk was listening to the whispers of those around him that hailed him as a superior Turk...possibly the one in line to replace the Vardot following his imminent retirement. Those whispers became louder, and the rumors began to swirl. The child prodigy of Junon was all but packed to change offices when word came down that Tseng had received the promotion instead. The news was a heavy blow to the psyche of the 21-year old youngster who had never tasted defeat in his life. Surely, he felt, he had proven his worth...at least moreso than Tseng? Unfortunately, the decision was no mistake, and it was Tseng's experience that had won him the position. Coping was not easy for Roka...because for as much as his father had taught him about success and victory, he had foolishly omitted the lessons on defeat. Roka's mission success somehow managed to remain at the top of the heap, but problems coping began to build up inside...and it would be outside of the office that the effects were most greatly felt. Upset at the apparent snub and violently jealous of Tseng, Roka's social life began to fall into a dangerous downward spiral. Normally good-natured days out with colleagues became volatile arguments for almost no reason, and often times it ended with a man he might have otherwise considered a comrade on the receiving end of a physical thrashing. Mention of the new leader of the Turks became a taboo subject in his presence, and whenever the day ended at the office, Roka buried himself in several mugs of ale down at Gren's Jazz Bar. Still, somehow his high level of proficiency endured, so the ShinRa brass let him continue on as he seemed to be coping. In reality, nothing could have been further from the truth. It took a scary moment at the workplace for the problem to truly come to light. It was a weekend he would have rather forgotten, though it would be the beginning of a one-year span that he would never forget. It had been following one of his more dirty jobs, and his suit had been soiled with a great deal of blood. His partner, a male nunchaku master, was just coming back into the office with a satisfied grin to go over the report one last time before they took it in to Tseng. Unaware of the lingering hatred of their boss and the volatile state of Roka's conscience, the young Nunchaku laughed and patted him on the shoulder. 'Better clean that blood off, you don't want Tseng to chew your a** out for looking unprofessional, do you?' he had asked Roka innocently, but the mention of Tseng as his superior at that point in time was one step too far. Whether it was the wrong place at the wrong time, or if it might have happened eventually in spite of it, his partner had tripped a dangerous wire in the katana master's mind. Without hesitation, Roka drew his blade with one hand and pressed the nunchaku against the wall firmly with the other. A split-second later, the tip of the sword was pressed cleanly against the neck of his offending partner. 'What would Tseng know of professionalism? I could give a rat's a** what that b*****d says!' he screamed in a rage, his blade barely piercing the skin of the now terrified nunchaku. A trickle of blood ran down the young Turk's neck, mingling with the tears that came shortly after. He begged...pleaded with Roka that his words were a jest, and that he meant nothing by them...but the fury in the katana master's eyes was something akin to that of a beast whose lust for blood had just gone into overdrive. Several of their colleagues had rushed to the scene a moment too late to catch his arm as he thrust his arm forward... All save one...Rude...the only Turk whose physical strength was known to exceed his own at the time. The larger man caught his arm as he moved his blade, drawing it back with some effort away from the nunchaku's neck. Instantly, the young Turk scrambled away, and his friends leaped in to restrain Roka in his moment of insanity. It seemed, however, as if there was no need. As Rude retracted the blade, the consciousness returned to his eyes and he knew what he had done. Shamed, he retreated into his office until the orders to meet with Heidegger came down. As expected, he was given a discharge from the service of ShinRa, and sent back to his hometown of Junon...only now that he was no longer employed by ShinRa, he was forced to live in the decrepid Lower section of the fortress-city. The next year was a virtual Hell for Roka, a man once deemed as a true prodigy of the corporation's army. In line for a promotion to officer...and then a Turk with a three-year mark of perfection...was now reduced to living in the proverbial gutter, scratching for meals and warmth in any corner of the land he could find. His home was unremarkable, and the fireplace was rarely ever lit. It was almost as if he had lost his reason to live... A year passed, and Roka continued to grow colder and colder...until finally the call he had been hoping for came. Heidegger needed a good man, and there was no one better for the job...not even Tseng. Practically leaping at the opportunity to return to the lifestyle he had dedicated himself to, Roka accepted the job and completed it to absolute perfection. Upon completion, he was reinstated in the Corporation, and in the Turks...but still below Tseng. Unable to bit back the jealousy and disappointment, Roka fought hard to keep in control of his emotions. He began frequenting Gren's almost as soon as he reached Midgar, and continued to find other ways to vent his frustration. Eventually, he told himself, his time would come...until then, he had to continue to serve to the best of his ability for the ShinRa. After all, the ShinRa wrote his checks, and they were the only real power that mattered in the world. And if ShinRa was right, then it was only natural that they would reward his success eventually... Half a year after his return, Roka was assigned a partner in Kano that he knew instantly was going to turn out poorly. The kid had no respect for the completion of a job and it seemed that his only care was that he enjoy his work. And yet, the mindset of the young man slowly...but surely...began to grow on him. For years he had served the ShinRa diligently...perfectly...and as of yet, he had not been adequately rewarded or recognized. If he was not to be commended for his excellent service, then he should at least take pleasure in his work...shouldn't he? It was for that reason that he did not physically thrash Kano the first time he was the cause of a failed mission...though the verbal assault he had unleashed was one for the record books. Since then, the two have somehow managed to co-exist...finding some common ground on which they can stand in Gren's Jazz Bar and the pleasure they try to take in their work. Though they have their differences, they are a pair to be reckoned with when fighting together. To Roka, Kano had become not only his partner and techincal subordinate...but almost somewhat of a little brother. If there was one thing or person in the world that might be more important to Roka than a mission or the ShinRa, it might have been Kano. And so, the two still work together...partners...soldiers...Turks.

Status: SOLDIER 1st ClassAppearance: Name: Karel Morosov Race: Human enhanced with Mako and Jenova Cells Player Level: GoodPower Level: StrongPrize for Victory: Age: 19 Height: 6'0 Weight: 164lbs Weapons: Kusanagi, Runeblade Special Abilities: Incredible agility, speed, aptitude for magic, and other skills due to materia, mako, and Jenova cells. Bio: Karel Morosov was born into a poor family on the outskirts of Abbey village, the training grounds of some of the strongest mercenaries on the planet Gaia. From a young age, Karel seemed destined to join them in their powerful quest for greater riches. His power and skill with weaponry was remarkable, even at the young age of 12. By that time, he had bested many of Abbey's finest warriors, and was developing an edge in combat that was both fearsome and deadly. But more scary than his power was his speed and technique, which was developing finely under the watchful eye of the previous leader of the village, Boris. Karel was a prodigy in his own right, sure to become the strongest in the village... Then came Kai and Tala, fresh off their release from the service of the Empire. The Blitzkrieg Boys, once the prize students of Boris, returned and laid claim to the village that had once housed them, removing Boris and every last trace of his reign...including Karel. Despite his anger, both he and his family knew that attacking the famous generals of Ghaleon's armies at the time was folly...and so they left. Suddenly, the young would-be mercenary was without a home. Just days before the cui, he had been hailed as the future leader of their humble village...now, he drifted, homeless and starved, to the Port City of Balfonheim. There, he met Tseng...then just a high ranking member of the Turks. Awed by the authority the man held over other grown men, but unimpressed by his skill, Karel knew that he could best this man...and if he could, perhaps earn himself a place within their organization. Karel waited for the opportune moment to strike...in the dead of night, as the Turk was loading his boat for the trip back to Midgar...and Tseng had just broken away from his group for a moment to make a call. With his future on the line, Karel leaped from the shadows and made his move, striking out at the Turk with a feral fury that nearly felled the young Turk...but Tseng was a crafty foe. Off-guard but not unprepared, Tseng found quickly that he was at a disadvantage hand-to-hand with the obviously faster assassin. His speed was incredible! If he were to survive, he would have to outwit the young mercenary...and so he did, luring his attacker onto the ship where a large dispatch of MP's and a pair of SOLDIERS were waiting for the Turk's return. Outnumbered and desperate, Karel fought back at the MP's and the two SOLDIERs even harder than before, nearly breaking through their siege to the edge of the boat. At last, however, he was dropped by a well-placed dart from the sly Turk. His last thoughts before he lost consciousness were of his failure to forsee Tseng's trap, and his desire to live...a wish that was granted, by the mercy of the ShinRa Corporation. Karel's skill was undeniable, and the accounts of his desperate battle against not one, but two SOLDIERs and an armed unit of MP's made waves throughout the ShinRa brass, and almost instantly, the boy was put into the treatments to become SOLDIER. Only half-conscious of the world around him, Karel was a helpless witness to the experimentation and treatments that Professor Hojo ran him through, injecting him with Jenova Cells and showering him with advanced levels of Mako. The pain was great, and madness threatened to take him on several occasions... But Karel's will to live was greater than the pain. And so, he lived...and became SOLDIER. Once he emerged from the tube after roughly half a year of treatments and tests conducted by the mad doctor, he was granted the rare honor of being placed in the direct care of a SOLDIER 1st Class, and given the rank of SOLDIER 3rd Class. That SOLDIER's name was Weiss. The two worked together diligently for years after that, and Karel earned his promotion to 2nd Class SOLDIER in that time. They had become comrades...friends, even. Karel had also grown to know Weiss's brother, Nero, and the three of them worked closely together for some time. And then, Weiss and Nero disappeared. And Karel was promoted to SOLDIER 1st Class... Since then, Karel's questions about the whereabouts of his friends have gone unanswered, but rather, the responses he received were stock...as if it was something on a need-to-know basis, and he did not need to know. It upset him...Karel could scarcely believe that his two friends had simply vanished without a trace... And yet, he served...and served well. To this day, Karel is a powerful and respected member of the SOLDIER Units 1st Class Branch, continuing on in the position vacated by his former friend and mentor, Weiss.

Appearance: Name: Aurora Alias: Shuriken Race: Human Player Level: Height: 5'6 Weight: 140 Weapons: shuriken Special Abilities: Bio: Aurora was born and raised by a loveless family in the slums of Midgar. In her early years, the only joy she found came in the form of competition between her and the neighborhood children. Being a smaller woman, however, Aurora had always lacked in strength, and often found herself on the wrong end of her competitive endeavors. Though she enjoyed the games, she found quite early on that she hated to lose... At the age of 12, Aurora became aware of the fact that her family was not your garden-variety unit, and that the cold nature of her parents was anything but normal. Slowly, she began to resent them. Still powerless to change things, she threw herself wholly into her competition and training. If she could not change her family, she could at least train herself to be stronger...and train she did. At the age of 14 Aurora won a city championship in track and field in the 100m dash, the 1600m run, and was runner-up in the discus throw. It was a feat that to this day remains unmatched in the history of Midgar scholastic competition. Her determination and diligent dedication to training had transformed her from an undersized child into a strong, athletically gifted woman. Few could deny that she had become quite the physical specimen. But now that she had won, Aurora found that the games were losing her interest. She had trained so hard to win, but now that she had, she wanted more. Her parents treated her terribly, and though she was well-known throughout Midgar as an athletic star, she knew that her life wasn't complete. It was by accident that she discovered her next challenge. At the age of 15, Aurora was walking home from a practice when a pair of thugs attacked her in the dark with the intent of stealing whatever money she had on her. At that moment, something clicked within her. Her hands moved like clockwork, one striking one attacker on the nose and the other in the groin, felling both her attackers in a pair of well-placed strikes. The rush of battle was amazing...and it hooked her. She began to walk the streets alone at night on purpose, hoping against hope that a band of thieves, a desperate beggar, or a dirty rapist would leap out at her...giving her free reign to do with them as she pleased. And she was rarely disappointed...Midgar was a desolate city, and there was never a lack of desperate men looking to catch a break in the form of an unsuspecting victim. Sometimes she would even be so luck as to find larger groups, three or more attackers at a time. And never had she even been taken in by an attacker. Aurora began to train herself to fight, practicing in the silent confines of her own parlor. As her parents went out at night and ignored her existence, their daughter was training herself to become a warrior. Still, the thrill of battle began to wane...as opponents grew more and more scarce and less and less challenging, the teen knew that she would soon have to find a more entertaining pasttime. At the age of 16, that pasttime found her. During one of her nightly excursions, Aurora happened onto a group of men who seemed to be intently focused on some task just outside her home in Sector 1. Deciding to test her luck, she made her way near them, and to her unspoken delight, the four men noticed her immediately. They told her they were busy and that she should scram while she could...she kept walking towards them. The first attacked her with his fists, but she was faster...two perfect shots to the throat and the chest putting them on the ground. The second swung at her with a knife, grazing her cheek...she caught him with a knee to the center that left him gasping for air. A third swung three kicks at her that all sailed over her head, the last giving her an opening to drill an uppercut to his chin that dropped him to the ground. She stomped his chest twice to ensure he wasn't getting up any time soon. Then she came face-to-face with their leader... The man was a broad shouldered man, but his look was neither ill nor fair. He simply smiled at her, crossing his arms as he sized up the little girl who had just annihilated half of his group. It was at that moment that his mind was made up, but before he could tell her, the woman had drawn her own knife, looking to carve her name into his flesh. But he was faster...and she could scarcely come close to him, never once landing a blow. Still, he was impressed... She lunged at him finally, frustrated by his constant dodging...and then suddenly everything went dark. He had knocked her unconscious with a single blow. She awoke some time later to the barren inside of an abandoned ShinRa Warehouse, and that same man staring at her intently from a nearby chair. From that chair, this man...the first to have ever beaten her...delivered her fate. "Your parents are dead," he told her simply, "they were caught in an explosion and burned to death." Those words were strange to her, because they meant that she was finally free of the burden they had been to her. They had cared so little when they were alive, and now, she was returning the favor upon their death. Aurora didn't shed a tear. The man stood, turning his back to her, before speaking over his shoulder once more. "I brought you here because I know there's nowhere else for you to go. But I'm giving you a choice. I need skilled men and women to help make my dreams a reality, and you're about as skilled as I've ever seen. You took out three of my best men with ease," he explained, wiping a hair from his forehead before continuing. "You can stay here and work with me, and I'll take care of you. Food, clothes, and a roof over your head. Or, you can go try to make it on your own in the slums of Midgar, and end up like one of those beggars out there...either way, think of this as a defining moment in your life..." The man paused then and made his way towards the door. Aurora squirmed for a moment where she laid, still bound by the ropes the man had placed around her hands and feet. It was obvious she wasn't going anywhere soon, unless he let her...but still, she wondered who this strange man was, and why he was really willing to help her. "Who are you?" was the only question she asked. "I can only tell you if you are with us..." he countered, tilting his head from the doorway. "So...are you?" There was barely a hesitation before she nodded in agreement. "I'm Chantz," the man told her, drawing a cigarette from a pack in his pocket. "Welcome to the gang..." It became apparent to Aurora early that this was no ordinary job, and that her role in Chantz's organzation was something she could have scarcely imagined. His "gang", as he called them, was a terrorist organization known as the "Dead Scientists" that had been striking out at the ShinRa and their branches throughout Midgar. Unlike some terrorist groups like AVALANCHE, however, their motivation was not at all environmentally linked. "We aren't some band of tree huggers trying to save the planet, or anything noble like that," Chantz had once told her, "we're just a group of guys who are pissed off at the system because we didn't get our fair share." That was how he described them. In fact, Chantz and his men had once been employees of the ShinRa Scientific Research and Development Department that had lost their jobs when President ShinRa decided to focus on the Jenova Project and the Neo-Midgar Project instead of their own... Now, they were just getting back at them by taking out some of their officers and warehouses, building the strength so that they might one day have the ability to challenge the company itself. And Aurora had become their best assassin under the daily training and tutelege of Chantz. Each mark she had been assigned had been eliminated without incident, and for that reason, if nothing else, her importance began to grow on the leader of the Scientists. The two became close, if only in a master-pupil sense of the word. Their training sessions often wore on until the wee hours of the morning as Aurora would try to break down Chantz's defenses or match his speed...but the ex-scientist was amazing! His speed was unmatchable, and his strength was beyond that of any normal human being. And always when they fought, his blue eyes seemed to glow...only for her. It was as if Chantz had become the family she had never had... Years passed and her skills grew remarkably under Chantz's watchful eye, and their group began to grow in numbers. Men with a grudge against the ShinRa, for whatever reason, began to flock to their hideouts to join in the militant movement against the company that had just started to make waves... But there was a spy among them... In his growing confidence and constant training with Aurora, Chantz had made the mistake of letting his guard down, and had inducted Reno, the Turk, into his organization. And a few nights later, under cover of darkness during one of their training sessions, ShinRa made its strike against the base of the "Dead Scientists". The terrorist organization never had a chance... Many men were captured in their sleep, others killed, but the real target of the raid was their organizer and leader, Chantz. At last they came for him, Turks and ShinRa MP's together. He had barely enough time to gather himself and prepare to fight...but before he went to face them, he ordered Aurora to leave them. "Go, Aurora...consider this another turning point in your life," he had told her simply, before heading out to meet them. But she didn't move...and she could not will her feet to leave the room which they had shared together. Gunshots rang out in the halls, as did fierce battle cries. Finally, it all began to die down. Footsteps could be heard down the hall...vaguely, she hoped that it was him. Instead, it was Reno, accompanied by several ShinRa Soldiers. The lax Turk looked her over, resting his rod on his shoulder. If she had wanted to, she might have attacked him then and escaped...but she didn't. 'What're you doin' in a place like this?' the red-haired Turk asked her, tapping his rod boredly on his shoulder. 'Don't you think you should be running along, now?' Still, however, she remained still. Somehow, she knew that running would get her nowhere...and that this was the beginning of something for her. 'Ain't you got somewhere to go now, sis?' Reno asked curiously, to which she shook her head purposefully. Her expression was passive, not at all intimidated. Reno smirked. 'Whatever...but hey, if you're gonna be lookin' for a new job you should come up top...of the plate, I mean,' he mentioned it, glancing up for emphasis. Neither Reno nor Aurora knew why he had said it, but at that moment she knew what Chantz had said was true...this was a defining moment in her life. 'ShinRa's always looking for new people...you got nowhere else to go, right?' he offered as he turned and headed for the door, his MP's following him silently. And that was how it happened... The only family she had ever known had been taken from her, and then she had been offered work by the very man who had done the taking. But that was how the ShinRa worked...and Reno's was right. She had nowhere else to go. And so she applied to the ShinRa...and became a member of the Turks. Still she wondered, however...just what had become of the "Dead Scientist" who had given her a chance at another life. She never did see his body, after all...
