I saw there was a topic created about journal writing ( http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=1614534 ) and that led me to the idea that we could hold some kind of contest or something instead... It hightens the use of the guild and it's fun. Anyone up for things such as themed contests, challenges or collaborations or anything along the line? Example: write a christmas-themed story with at least two characters and with a lenght between 1k and 5k. Use at least three out of the following words: tree, snow, cold, angel, blanket, doll, present, animal, photo, sock. Use the word 'merry' at least 10 times throughout the story.Just a thought...

yeah that sounds great blaugh and the mondthly thing is cool too, but i think funds aren't too high so it could be seasonal, but do i know... we should all give ideas.

I like the idea of a conetst. Who's going to host it and judge it? Or is it just going to be a kind of a group/community type of thing?

Zaurak I like the idea of a conetst. Who's going to host it and juge it? Or is it just going to be a kind of a group/community type of thing? I reckon we could put a thread here with links to the entries... And stories can be put up on various art/writing sites or in the Library. This guild will host it, and it will be for members of GBG. A judge... Man, haven't even given thought to that part yet... sweatdrop See, there's a lot to do. wink You can help out if you want to.

Yeah...I wouldn't mind helping at all. And I think putting on a conetest would be good for the guild.
However, if this contest goes off well, I was thinking maybe the guild could hold a contest in the Writer's Forum. That way we could raise funds for the guild and get in some advertising. It's just a thought.

Raise funds? Why? We don't need any more subs... Getting more publicity WOULD be a great idea though. But first, let's not grab a task too high and see how we pull this off here...
