●---------BEGINNER'S FAQ---------●

. . . On Obtaining a Demon . . .

How do I get one?
From Dark Nights and other events.
Auctions and customs are very rare, but they do exist from time to time.
You will need an OC human character ready for RP in order to contract a demon.
See "how to contract demons" in the second part of this FAQ.

Do you have flatsales?
No.

How is the art done?
All characters at are individually drawn at their different stages.

Can I get one for someone else?
No. You also may not share with or give your demon to someone else.

Can I bribe the artists?
Check the customs section in Availability.

Can I have two demons?
Yes, as long as your first demon is grown.
However, new owners would be considered more by the judge panel in a contest.

. . . On Contracting a Demon . . .

How do Dark Nights work?
It is an interactive RP prompt which spans for a few hours.
There will be Shades present, and you will need a human character ready to RP and
interact with the Shade. The said human character may or may not know what the
event is about. The Shade may choose a human that it favours and commit to
serving that human.

How does contracting work?
The shade or the human will propose a contract, then negotiation, detailing and
approval may ensue. The interaction happens between the Shade and the human.
By the beginning of the actual contract, the Shade will become an Imp.

Does the contract ever end?
Each contract's terms are different, and it ends whenever the contract is fulfilled.
The demon then will still be roleplayed by you, just detached from their owner.
However, when the demon dies or is forced to break the contract,
you will lose the demon.

. . . On Keeping a Demon . . .

Are demons rp-required?
Yes.

Do I have to roleplay my human?
This is optional.
Your human may be only a side character, it's up to you.

Do I need to feed my demon?
Imps need to be fed at least once every three days until they grow into Demons.
You may buy food items from the Grocery Store.
Or, if your demon has special preferences, you may get your food items from the Alchemist or quests.
After am Imp grows into a Demon, it will not need any more food and simply
sustain itself by draining the human host's energy.

What if I don't RP or give it food?
You will be given warnings before the demon decides to leave their owner.
In that case, depending on the demon's personality, it will either starve itself to death,
flee or find itself another owner. If you need to leave for a period of time,
talk to your RP manager about it or ask a friend to feed the demon for you.

When would an Imp evolve into Demon?
If you feed it and roleplay often in the guild, it would generally evolve in a month or so.
The trick is to push some plots and contribute to story development.
You can do this via multi-player RP. Single-player RP is optional.
When their contents are substantial, both will help the imp's growth.

. . . About Items & Credits . . .

What do special items do?
Find out from their descriptions.

Can I buy food and items for other demons?
Yes, you may.

Are items transferable?
Only special items.

Can I buy the items now and reserve them for future use?
Only special items.

What are shop credits?
You may send gold to shop mule Tino Karta and we'll record it as your shop credits.
You may use credits to buy things if you prefer not to send trades all the time.
Leftover gold may be returned to you upon request, or when we feel like cleaning the records.

●---------ROLEPLAYER'S FAQ---------●

. . . On the Issue of Metaplot . . .

How does it work?
In the Metaplot Thread, there will be a series of chapters recording our current
overarching plot and RP summary. You may check the past chapters on all the roleplays that happened thus far
in the shop, and base your current new roleplay on the latest chapter available.

How does it grow?
Chapters will be written once every while when a significant amount of plot have been accumulated.
All of our RPs in the shop will contribute to the growth and expansion of the Metaplot.

. . . On the Nature of a Demon . . .

Are they supposed to be evil?
Demons here were supposedly born from the chaos that is darkness. They can take up on
negative traits and bad morals, but they aren't necessarily out to destroy the world.
Unless they meant to, of course.

Can they disguise as humans?
Yes.
The duration and effectiveness vary with each demon's skills and personality, though.

Can they use magic?
Only if they've aged quite a bit or drained powers from somewhere.

Do they eat and/or curse other humans?
If they want to.
Contracted demons are not supposed to feed off other humans, though, and cursing won't
work unless the demon have substantial power.

What other abilities do they have?
One that demons all share is the ability to camouflauge
in shadows. Their bodies remain vulnerable to
touch, but they will be unseen by naked eyes even to a high priest unless illuminated by light.
Most of them also possess physical abilities superior to that of humans. Ones that have wings are able to fly.
Individually, they also have unique abilities in accordance with their nature.

. . . On the Nature of a Contracted Human and Their Contract . . .

How does the contract affect the relationship between human and demon?
New demons are like parasites when contracted to a human. The contracted demon needs to stay relatively
close to the human in order for the human's life energy
to sustain the solid shape of the demon.
As a general rule, demons become more independent as they grow older.

What happens if the human and demon are physically separated?
Short separations are fine by all means.
However, if they part for too long causing the demon to lose stability, the demon will dissolve back into
the form of a shade. If they come back together again, as long as the same contract hasn't
been broken in between, the demon can resume their usual physique.
As a general rule, demons become more independent as they grow older.

What does the contract do to/for the human?
The demon will serve the human as stated in the terms on the contract, and try to
fulfill the human's wishes to the extent as described by those terms. As a result of the demon leeching off
the human's energy, though, the human may feel physical weakness and discomfort from time to time.

What does the contract do to/for the demon?
While the demon serves the human, they can leech off the stability of human energy and sustain a solid
physique. This way they may grow into a true demon, one that does not need help to sustain their physical shape.
After gaining full independence, the demon usually waits until the contract term ends and leaves the human.

. . . On the Nature of an Exorcist . . .

Who do they serve?
They serve the Light whom they call God, and the Holy Father of Light that is their Pope.
Read this thread for Church descriptions.

Do they use magic against demons?
Yes, they have their pretty little tricks. They use holy items and church rituals to exorcise demons.

Why are they all pretty boys?
The God of Light prefers it that way, perhaps.

. . . On the Topic of Time and Place . . .

Where are we, and what's the place like?
The Collective States of Pesso much resembles Europe where the scenery
is much like the old times but with hints of modern life quality.
The map is here. The Metaplot started in a small town called La'To in the state of Heme.

What era are we in?
It is now Year 2011 in the Sun Calendar of Luminarias, modern like our real-life world,
except a lot of the old European traits remain.

Can we venture out of town?
Yes. But keep in mind that most roleplayers and major plots will still be in La'To.

. . . On the Topic of Quests . . .

What are Quests for?
It would either be for 1) obtaining special items, or 2) expanding our metaplot on a big scale.

How do we receive Quests?
It may be offered on special occasions by a staff member
(mostly Rethen Kel'Sviet the Alchemist or Tino Karta).

●---------ADVANCED USER'S FAQ---------●

. . . On Demons . . .

What special abilities does my demon have?
You may decide on something related to the nature of your demon.
If you aren't sure and would like some suggestions or finalization, you could
always ask the staff! Staffs may give you warnings if the abilities you've decided
on are too far off from the demon's nature, or simply too strong for an average demon.

What do the Alchemic items do?
When used during a demon's Imp stage, they may affect the nature,
looks and/or abilities of the adult demon.
