((Neo-gaea is not available for RPing until later in the story.))

Neo-gaea is, you guessed it, present day Earth, and most of the Victorianesque stuff is quite present in Auldelen society. However, as usual, it is different from the way it is today. When the Auldelens migrated to Neo-Gaea, the planet was near the end of its Ice Age. Auldelens managed to adapt to this environment and some have grown very tolerant to cold weather and little sunlight.

However, to their shock, the ice begins to melt, and many of the plants and animals that they sustained on began to die off. To Auldelens, you know, they're going "this is the apocalypse OMG" though today we know that the ice age is ending and better things await.

Because of "the melting" of their planet, the Aeolus Republic looks to their neighboring planet, Archaea-gaea, and upon Queen Auldhelna's command, plan to recapture what they call their "homeland" from the Elens and live there. They are mainly focused on the Northern, icy parts of Archaea-gaea, but their deep hatred for the Elens for driving them out of Archaea-gaea justifies revenge.

Despite their ongoing Ice Age, the Neo-gaeans have quite a lot of resources at hand. The plants and animals do not differ much from the ones on Earth but there are a certain few.

*Gorgons: Yes, Gorgons. They do all the things that normal, mythological gorgons do. However, they are smaller and can be domesticated. Obtaining a Gorgon is expensive. Only the richest of nobles (and Gorgonite) can obtain one.

*Nymphs: Most of the nymphs in Neo-gaea have been wiped out, save the select few in the hanging waters. These Nymphs (water nymphs, technically) are founders of many royal bloodlines in the hanging waters. Most Auldelens, however, are said to have nymph and Elen ancestry. Royals usually have more of it, and it is visible in their black-blue blood (which is really more of a lubricant for exalts).

Chimeras and Cerberi (sp?) also exist in the northern areas. Centaurs and Minotaurs are also common, and some live in Auldelen towns.

Most of the RP as far as Auldelens go take place in Europe and a little past the Mediterranean. However, the Webwings live all over the atmosphere. Regardless, all tribes eventually unite in the Aeolus Republic.

And some Auldelen quirks you should DEFINITELY know, especially if you're playing one:

*For one, their blood is black more often than not (if you've a lot of nymph blood, it's black/blue). Also, it's not really blood, it's lubricant. When Auldelens exalt, wings and claws and skin and scales pour out, depending on the species. The lubricant spurts out every time, and losing it is no big problem as it regenerates quickly.

*Auldelens often exalt for battle or for strength or for attracting mates. The bigger your wings, the bigger your...no of course not D< it only determines how strong you are. Royal Wings have the largest wingspan by far, followed by Gorgonite, Darkwings, and Webwings. The others can't fly or glide and don't have wings.

*Darkwings and Gorgonite have a much more conservative culture than the other tribes. Sure, most of them are already segregated to begin with, but those collectively do not like to mix. Darkwings and Gorgonite have been under several skirmishes with each other, mainly to dominate the other. They often fight over room under the giant storm cloud that passes all over the planet; this storm cloud shields the Gorgonite and the Darkwings from the otherwise barren landscape (they cannot tolerate too much sunlight). Darkwings and Gorgonite that already live in established areas under the Aeolus Republic already have an ointment created to combat the sun, but their more traditional relatives still migrate in small tribes across the planet.

*Earthenhoofs also do not like to mix, and thusly, they have set up much of their land on the Darkside---the side of the planet that is usually darkest at the poles. When time calls for it, they migrate away from the sun. Earthenhoofs can live in sunlight, but they are very conservative and do not like being discovered. Unlike Darkwings and the Gorgonite, almost none of the Earthenhoofs inhabit towns. Therefore, their existence can be somewhat of a myth.

*Auldelens cannot cringe or shake and fail at blushing. Because of their blood color, their face just looks sooted when they get embarassed. They cannot cringe because it's just not their nature (I used to have an explanation for it but I forgot it).

*Auldelens think good luck, bad luck, and superstition is rubbish. They also do not usually believe in intuition, the third eye, and the sixth sense. Those that do are oftentimes called naive.
