When choosing a breed, you have the following choices:

1. Make a human (Elen). All humans live in Archaea-gaea. They cannot cross the path through the mirror, therefore, none of them inhabit Neo-gaea. They have the usual red blood. Most of the story will take place in Archaea-gaea anyway, so don't worry about making a human---you will not be left out. Elens usually call the Auldelens the Alibi---a derogatory term.
A. halfling: half-humans, half Auldelens. Most Elens hate their exalted alien relatives (the Auldelens), however, there’s always some that stand out and end up procreating with them ^^. Halflings can go unnoticed in Elen society so long as no one knows their ancestry---if they do, they are shunned.
However, this is not nearly as bad as the way Auldelens usually take them. Auldelens can immediately tell their kinfolk, and if they know someone’s a Halfling, it is usually apparent through some handicap with exalt, and are treated like absolute trash. All Halflings always have a small handicap of some sort (what handicap that is is of your choosing).
Halflings can have harmonies, just like Auldelens.

2. Make an exalted human (Auldelen). Most Auldelens live in Neo-gaea, but if you're part of the Aeolus Republic, you can have your characters camp out in Olympus Mons and be part of the siege operations with the Auldelen Queen. If you're an Auldelen, be aware that you are at quite the risk of being assaulted by bards, majjes, and druids. Different species of Auldelens are in the Worldbuilding forum. Middle aged (such as 40-50 in human years) is 90 years old about. Just double the number. This does not apply to halflings or elens.

A. purebreed: these Auldelen’s ancestries originate from only one tribe. These Auldelens are pedigree, so to say. Since tribes are very important in their culture, purebreeds are usually higher class and often take higher ranks.
B. hybrids: these Auldelens are a mix of two Auldelen tribes. Treated normally, though not as respected and revered. Usually the common Auldelen. Both of these have harmonies for exalt, and harmonies so people can tell them apart.

hybrids usually are halves of two different types of Auldelens. It's right that you chose to make him more darkwing, as darkwings are more of the dominant race.
If ever faced with a challenge as to how your character should look like as a hybrid, it's often either going to look more like a Darkwing, A Gorgonite, or Webwing and less like the other tribes as the other tribes are more rare and less likely to present themselves in hybrids.

Also, if you are making a character you can also choose whether you want your character to be blessed by the star of a certain god. This god must be greek, and you must specify what gifts are granted. These gifts must somehow be associated with the god you choose.
