This year for Valentine's Day, Istence is holding a city-wide festival in honor of Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. The taverns and inns have thrown open their doors, and food and drink is flowing. Musicians are in the street, singing and playing instruments, actors are making skits, poetry is being recited. For today, at least, all seems happy and good.

Rhiannon secretly loved Valentine's Day. Not that she would ever admit it aloud, but she was a ardent romantic at heart. The knight that won the fair lady, love won at all costs...ah. Those made her sigh and dream sweet things.
She was walking down a main street in Istence, her green eyes glowing softly. She loved listening to the poet recite love-verses, the street vendor hawking flowers. She even had bought a new gown in honor of the day.
Walking down the street, she twirled a red rose in her fingers, and smiled to passerby. If only everyday could be Valentine's Day.

((because I feel someone else should be RPing here too~ I'll be messing with Ith since it's OOC too!))
Itherul crossed his arms and let out a breath sharply. Valentines day. He hated Valentines day. It just seemed to mock him every year, that day just for lovers, forever reminding him he just wasn't right. The only thing he ever got from it was new ballads written by other people and a general sense that the world was crazy and stupid.
It was the only day he absolutely refused under every circumstance to be the entertainer he always strived to improve. Seeing couples everywhere made him uncomfortable; even singles paired up, presumably just for the fun of it. He leaned on a wall and tried not to be noticed - he was lacking places to hide due to the contagous 'romance' in the air.
