Characters Name: Garret Tarangail

Age: 106

Race: Light Dragon

Weapons: None

Weapon/Fighting Skills:
Doesn't like fighting, tries to incapacitate rather than kill, likes to sneak up from behind using his powers before knocking them upside the head.

Abilities:
Can manipulate light, sound, and smells, allowing him to make masterful illusions. (For a much more detailed version, see below)
Rather than normal sight, he sees the web of light. He also sees sound as vibrations
Likes to craft things normally as well, paintings, sculptures, incense, as well as decorating and music.
Knows a great many languages.

Family: Father and Mother

Biography:
Likes- art, talking, philosophizing, jokes, plotting, daydreaming
Dislikes-fights, bullies, jerks
Personality- cheerful, bubbly, unconsciously flirtatious
Appearance- Normal for light dragons about 9 and a half feet tall standing up. See picture below for coloring.

Garret is the only son of two light dragons. His mother and father are avid and successful crystal technology inventors. So Garret was often left to his own devices. They were slightly disappointed that he took to arts rather than following in their footsteps, but they both still loved him and supported his decision. As soon as he was old enough, he immediately set off to explore the world, occasionally returning to visit his parents. He finances his travels as a bard, creating fantastical illusions for wealthy patrons.

Light- He needs a light source to create the visual illusions. He can create a small ball of light though and carry it from a light section to a darker section, containing the light and releasing it when he wants to see. Becoming invisible is a fairly simple task of just bending the light around. Actual moving illusions are more difficult. His illusions are based off what he has seen or can imagine. So if person A is familiar with person B, person A might notice some minor discrepancies in an illusion of person B. He can also create an area of complete darkness, by bending all light away.

Sound is a bit different. He can create sound, allowing for ventriloquism. He can alter pitch and volume, but can't achieve the whole sonic scream that bursts your eardrums and sends you flying across the room. He can create an area where no one outside the area can hear what's going on inside the area or vice versa.

Concentration varies depending on a variety of factors, familiarity with the image, still or moving, silent or talking, and the size of the illusion. He can create simple illusions all day, complex moving/talking illusions can be sustained for a couple of hours, while huge illusions last only a couple of minutes. Characters Name: Kent Forest

Age: 20

Race: Reincarnated Human

Weapons: Large Paintbrush that he uses as a quarterstaff. On command it can shrink to the size of a normal paintbrush, or leak ink that hangs in the air.

Weapon/Fighting Skills:
Kent is a very skilled in using his paintbrush in practice bouts, however he hasn't been in an actual fight for survival though. He focuses on quickness, feinting, and strikes to critical places.

Abilities:
Kent uses a linguistic magic, making him a more general mage, dabbling in a variety of things but not a real master at anything. He is limited by what words/symbols he knows. Details below profile.

Current Symbols Known-
"Element"-grants a limited control over a random base element, fire, water, earth, or air for a limited time, ten minutes or less. Can make rough walls and throw elemental balls.
"Close"- magically locks doors, closes wounds, or mends rips or tears. This is rather patchy, so a person who had a wound closed should take it easy or it might open again.
"Name"- Allows him to see the lesser names of people with magic, or grant a person knowledge of his/her true name. Knowing a lesser name will allow him to target a person with magic(divination, etc.), but he can't do much with it at his current knowledge. Currently sees them as symbols, and a person who sees his lesser name would get a feeling of it being right for them, but slightly off for some reason they can't explain.

Biography:
Likes- bread and cheese, practicing with his paintbrush, learning
Dislikes- secrets, being told what to do
Personality- Has an awed outlook on the world that hides an intense focusing capability.
Appearance-As picture, but without the crosses and with medieval clothing. Occasionally, symbols can be seen moving across his eyes.

Kent is a reincarnated soul. He doesn't remember his life before, but he knows he was killed when he was a child. He remembers his trip to the underworld, and being offered the chance to return to life if he allowed his body to play host to a long dead magic. He accepted and was born to his current parents.

Kent grew up in a small settlement of humans, where he grew up a fairly normal life, secluded from major magic and dragons. He always knew deep down that eventually he was going to have to leave, as he had a purpose to fulfill, and although he wasn't sure what that was, he knew he wouldn't be able to do it here. So he lived hard and had fun harder.

When he was eighteen, he started to change. He started seeing symbols occasionally, on objects or floating through the air. People would stop talking to him in mid conversation, saying they saw something moving across his eyes. He stopped his normal life, researching, puzzling, searching. He finally understood a few of the symbols, and with understanding came a power to use them. The town grew restless about him, even his own parents, so he left after he turned 20.

Linguistic Magic

There is a language that is, in and of itself, magic. Unlike magic incantations, which shape the magic within a person that allows it to be used, in this language, the words themselves provide the power. This allows a completely nonmagical being that knows this language to perform magic.

However, using the language is not just saying magic words, or writing magic symbols. It also requires a deep understanding of the meaning. This prevents just anyone from copying something to use it, requiring students to learn from someone who already knows, or from a dictionary-like magic tome.

Kent is an incarnation of this magic. He is the link between the language's power and the world, a conduit that allows the world to draw on the language's power. He also has a fairly large pool on which to draw on, but it drains him since he is the incarnation of the language. However, he doesn't know the language completely yet. Currently he only knows a few magic symbols, but will eventually learn more and get into the spoken language.

Possible History- This languages magic is linked to the world through an incarnation of itself in human form. It is passed on to other people, usually to the incarnation's children, but it can also be given to someone else. While teaching a new incarnation, they both share the power making them weaker than normal. Perhaps they were killed, and this magic language stopped working, so people developed an offshoot of it that used their own energy, as magic incantations and circles.

Characters Name: Terro

Age: 37

Race: Human

Weapons: Creates weapons from the earth, whatever he feels like using

Weapon/Fighting Skills:
Tweeo uses his small size to his advantage, dashing in between legs and hamstringing opponents. He's also acrobatic, aiming to slice throats.
Tweeo favors claws made out of earth, but he has a style in which he changes his weapon, which keeps his opponents guessing.

Abilities:
Can manipulate earth and gems. He's got great strength, and an incredible sensitivity, allowing him to sense and manipulate dust particles in the air.
Can teleport items smaller than a watermelon, that is within sight and fairly clear, to him. One way.
Has powerful legs, which allows him to kick and jump more than a normal kid.

Soulbond Traits
Timeless Body and Mind- Ever since the accident, his mind and body stopped developing normally. He looks and acts like he was still seven, though he is smart, and talented, his age at the time of the accident. He'll still die of old age when he gets there.
Enhanced Endurance- While in a child's body, he has the physical endurance of an adult
Enhanced Emotions- His connection to the basilisk gives Tommy some enhanced emotions that strongly affect him sometimes, blotting out all else. His eyes change color when under this influence.

Black-Berserk- You've got about five seconds to live if you're the reason his eyes turn black. We recommend you take up a hobby. Like running. Or religion.
Empathic Link- Tommy can feel the basilisks emotions, and pain seems to traverse the link easily.

Biography:
Likes: sweets, playing, fighting
Dislikes: meanies
Personality: childlike, but sometimes seems sad or psychotic
Appearance: As pictures, except basilisk has wings. Terro has large green scaly patches and a scaly tail.

Terro was abandoned by his biological parents when he was born. A nice earth dragon wizard found him before Tommy died and adopted him. Terro was well taken care of, but an accident occurred when he was seven. The wizard was experimenting with magic, and accidentally unleashed an entropic field. Entropic fields create an area in which random effects occur.

Terro's soul was bound to a basilisk. The entropic field affected them both in different ways as well. Terro was rendered blind, and the basilisk's ability to turn people to stone was removed. Terro manifested the ability to teleport objects to him. The basilisk grew larger, slightly smaller than a red dragon, taking on some fiendish qualities, large spikes erupting from it's back and it grew wings. Through the link, the basilisk gained a measure of sapience. The earth dragon was also merged into Terro, giving him the appearance of a half-dragon boy, his earth abilities, and strong legs.

Terro was left alone with his basilisk, the area around the wizard's home ended up a mass of weirdness. He saw by sensing the dust particles in the air and how bodies displaced/ were covered by them. They traveled around, mostly staying to themselves due to many people not very happy about the basilisk.
