Located below the surface of the city of Midgar are the slums. The slums are a very poor area of the city where houses are often made out of whatever trash is dropped into it from the city above, and the citizens survive by whatever means necessary. It is a terrible existence, but those who live there still have some sense of pride in their homes and the land which they live on.
A few nicer places exist in the slums, though they are not cared for by the Shinra, such as the church and Wall Market. So long as they pay the Shinra for their energy and their taxes, they are usually let be. Still, it is not uncommon for a person causing trouble in the slums to simply disappear...
This is the tattered reality of a life in Midgar.

A woman ran swiftly through the shadows of the slums, her footsteps made no sound as they touched the pavement. Soon she slowed to a stop and looked down the street where she lived and noticed there was only one car on the whole block and she knew exactly who it belonged to. "Shite." She cursed under her breath, they were there for retribution and she knew it. They blaimed her for Chantz's 'death' and said she was a traitor to their cause. She snorted at the thought, she only join their damn group to fight, it was her addiction and her whole reason for getting up in the morning. She watched her home for a couple more moments before she slipped back into the darkness and dashed across the street quicker than anything else. She skirted around her house and looked through the window counting only three heavily armed guys. She looked up and smirked, jumping up and onto the roof with silent ease. She always had a way in and out of her home for emergencies, and getting her shuriken now was one of them. 'If they go missing oh well, they're interferring.' She smirked at the thought and slipped in through the hidden passage. She moved, pushing a kill switch for the lights as she went. She listened to them curse and stumble around as she grabbed the three knives she had hidden in the passage, knowing she had to get them the first time or it would come down to hand to hand combat in the dark. She mentally wondered if she was allowed to do this, but decided she needed her weapons and would get it at any cost. She heard one of the move right under her . Aurora jumped down silently behind the man with a smirked. "Boo" He jumped into the air and landed only to a knife lodge itself deep in his chest cavity. The other two watched as their buddy dropped to the floor, giving Aurora the chance to nail one of them in the throat with the other knife. She ducked under some empty crates as the last guy began to shoot up a storm. 'What a waste of bullets at this rate someone will come in here.' She waited till she heard him reloadi before getting up and throw the last knife at him. What she didn't see was him grabbing another weapon instead. As the knife lodged itself in his thoat his finger pressed on the trigger. She cursed and hit the floor once more, not minding the fact she now had a cut where one of the bullets grazed her. She waited till she knew they were all dead before she got up once more. She walked quietly to the bodies and looked around. "Look at the mess you guys made, all for absolutly nothing." She sighed and dragged the bodies down to the make shift basement and piled them up in the corner. She looked around and smiled grabbing her Large Shuriken. She brought it upstairs and piled her clothes into a duffle bag and some of her main weapons. She tossed them outside. Aurora walked back downstairs, holding a small bomb that would just blow up the house and destroy everything in it. She set the bomb and walked out of her home and her past and into the arms of the future. As she made her way to one of the abandoned ShinRa Warehouse, she counted the seconds till the bomb went off. As she felt the small explosive go off she smiled. "Pathetic fools"

As Aurora walked silently to the Warehouse she wondered why she was even going there in the first place. She picked up her Shruiken and spun it around her hand, keeping her eyes on the people around her. She shifted her bag on her back as she neared the warehouse. "One would think your crazy for doing this, then again when did I ever care what they think?" She looked around the area quickly before she slide the warehouse's door open and slipped inside. She looked around and headed up to the place where she last saw Chantz alive. She walked into the room and looked down at the spot where she once stood. 'Why didn't I move? Why didn't I disobey his ******** orders and go after him? What the hell was wrong with me, I could have easily protected him and get him out of here, and yet I just stood there like an idiot.' Aurora growled and threw her Shuriken into the wall, where it dug itself a new home. 'The only one who ever cared about me, the only one who offered me a purpose and I did nothing to save him!" Aurora couldn't stand it any more, she grabbed chairs and threw them out of the room, tossed tables out the window and basically demolished the room completely. She even lit one of the chair on fire, which set of the sprinklers over head. She stood in the middle of all the mess, allowing herself to get soaked, with her eyes closed allowing the water and her tears to mix. No one would know she couldn't stand the fact she did nothing for the one who did everything for her.

"You must have cared about him a great deal, huh?" a smooth voice came from the doorway where Chantz had exited on that fateful night. It was the same door that he had come in moments later. "We thought you might come here...figured it was better somebody tagged along. You made quite a commotion down here, you know." In the shadows of the doorway stood a man a bit taller than herself with a long, red ponytail and a pair of Turk-issued sunglasses resting precariously on his forehead. Twin scars under his freen eyes were reminders of his own clouded past, but it was something he had long since given up caring about. His suit was poorly kept, though to him it was a style. It got wet as he stepped into the room, as well as his uniform shoes which squished on the floor of the warehouse. Reno leaned his rod against his shoulder and continued to stare at the newest addition to the Turks, wondering if she had what it took to be one of them.

Aurora smirked and looked at the Red head. "when no ones else gives a damn about you but a ******** stranger, I guess you come to care for them. But if I cared so god damn much about him, why the hell didn't I move to help him. Why did I follow his god damn orders to stay. . . ." She became silent once more, before she shook her curls out. "We who Red? and why would it be better that someone tag along?"

Reno smirked, kicking a piece of furniture away from him that got in his way. He took another step into the room, watching the woman with some interest. She was still so young...it reminded him of Elena a little, but not that much. He tapped his rod on another broken chair. "You probably didn't follow him because you know you would have died," he thought off-handedly, though it was more than likely true. "What's the point in dying if you don't have to, right?" The red-haired Turk tapped a broken piece of furniture again with his rod, causing the leg to fall to the soaking floor. It was funny, he thought...a flick of his finger and every living thing in this place would fry. 'Kinda makes you feel powerful...' he thought, dismissing the thought as it came to him. "What're you doin' here, anyway?" he asked her, the question heavily measured.

"Avoiding the question Red?" she watched him carefully, judging his motions. "If you haven't noticed a little bomb went off a mile away, that would be my house." She growled to herself. "Those fools thought they could catch me." She laughed to herself

"Come on, you know the answer to that," Reno laughed uneasily, scratching his back with his rod. "The ShinRa keeps us on a pretty tight leash. Once you sign up, your a** is theirs." The green-eyed Turk stepped through the water and past the woman, the equipped materia clearly visible in his weapon. He glanced back at her for a moment. "You know, it's not good to dwell on the past, it'll only give you headaches," Reno told her seriously, though he still wore a small smile. "You're a Turk now, and that's all you need to know."

"Being a Turks shouldn't be tough. If you can't set the past aside, we don't want you." The ill-versed Turks spoke, a rare occasion even to his fellow mates. "We just do our job...nothing more, nothing less." The cool eyes of the Turks watched their shuriken specialist through his tinted sunglasses, a momento of his hidden demeanor.

"I set it aside at my house and blew it up for fun, I came here to leave Chantz's damn problems here also. I will NOT allow his stupidity to hold me back. He made his choices and I've made mine." She walked pasted Red and grabbed her Shuriken. She then grabbed her bag and looked at the two guys. "So Red and Mystery, what are you two doing here, other than checking up on me?" She said with a smile on her face. 'Yep now there is nothing else to look back on, all I need to look on now is the future.' She thought to herself

"Actually, we've got orders," Reno informed her, his green eyes somewhat dubious at the fact that she had put her past behind her. After all, if it had been so easy, she wouldn't have come here. Still, he would let it be for now. The red-haired Turk turned to his partner and nodded, a signal that it was time to get things moving. He squared back up with the woman and smiled a bit apologetically. "We're gonna make this place into a parking lot," he told her, his rod scraping against the floor of the warehouse as he leaned against it. "ShinRa's orders."

"Sweet, So are you going to blow it up? Can I help?" She asked 'What a better way to end a day than blowing up not one but two buildings? Other than more than that.' She watched them carefully as she leaned against the door frame.

"They don't like loose ends. We're going to burn the HQ of the Dead Scientists as a symbol...no one opposes the ShinRa and lives very long." Rude lifted the large bag he had carried with him, pulling out a number of explosives. The Turks slowly went to work, placing the explosives around the warehouse. He took no time going about his business, knowing that the sooner they had completed their objective the sooner he could go get a cold drink at Gren's Bar. "Reno...time to get out of here." Rude turned, showing him the empty sack before heading towards the entrance.

"No time," he told her, following Rude out the door. "Better get a move on if you don't want to go up with it. The big guy here doesn't mess around." Reno set his rod on his shoulder and motioned for her to follow him out the door...a symbolic gesture, really...much like the one he had made her when they first raided the joint. It was her chance for a new life, as a member of the Turks. But to do so, she would have to turn her back on the Dead Scientists...and Chantz, too. ShinRa wouldn't have it any other way.
