Isla Olvidada - The forgotten isle. Home to a small community mostly made up of the families of smugglers and pirates. Shady business is the only kind of business here, and secrecy is key to the survival of this illegal outpost.

Geography: Isla Olvidada is actually the name of the central island in a ring of smaller islands connected by a network of bridges. No one lives on the forgotten island itself, out of fear that the forgotten pirates who died there to protect their treasure might rise from the grave.

However, the surrounding islands are full of tiny homes tucked out of immediate sight, almost invisible from anywhere but the central island itself. There is a smattering of marketplaces spread between the islands, and at least one tavern per island. The largest and most popular of these taverns is of course The Golden Cutlass.

Rules: Normal rp rules apply. There is no city watch or anything of the kind, it's every pirate for himself. This doesn't mean that crime will go without retribution, it just means that you won't get a fair trial if caught.

It was yet another day in her small island home, and Taka Baine was beginning to get sick of the damned land. She missed the rocking of the seas, just as any pirate would. She woke reluctantly at Dawn, knowing damn well she wouldn't be able to get back to sleep once the sunlight had woken her.

Not knowing of what to do, she decided to take a stroll outside, to stretch her long legs and admire the wide, open sea. The wind pushed her long black hair back when she stepped outside, and she inhaled the heavy sent of salt that hung in the air. As she walked, Taka tied her unruly mass of hair back in a ponytail, it bothered her when it hung in her face.

The sun was warm already, heating her very exposed skin. Clothing was sparse on the amazon girl's body, and she enjoyed it like that. A smile played on Taka's lips as she began her stroll, it was a nice day and she was planning on enjoying it.

Why they sent him instead of a people person, he'll never know, for when he returned, the ship was gone and all that lay behind was a pistol. Why it was dropped, again he may never know. To want to investigate, it would mean he had to care, which he didn't in the least. Leaving the pistol behind, he returned to the town he had asked questions to and started to live there, building his home himself.

Walking around the island towards one of the bridges, he didn't really watch where he was going, more intent the Endless chain he was crafting from deep green rope.

The small tapping of nails on wood contented the blonde for the moment. Azure eyes stared idly at the sea stretched before him, lips drawn into an line lacking emotion. Unimpressed, it seemed. Or it could be that the young man was incredibly talented at keeping a straight face. Neither of the two possibilities was impossible when it came to Kyros Kommandant. He could flick his interest on and off as he pleased even at this young age.

This place was boring. Not that it really was, but there wasn't much that amused him here. Conversations worth carrying were scarce and hard to find if you had no money or extraordinary appearance. And he was flat broke, much to his displeasure. So there he was, leaned against the safety rails of one of the bridges, trying to think to himself what he could do to amuse himself while he watched the waves crash forth and then ebb away.

He was an excellent gambler, he considered, but there was no money around to be found... That was when he saw the bandanna-clad young man from the corner of his eye. Hm.. He didn't seem to be at all there at the moment. Didn't even notice him, it seemed. Kyros saw opportunity.

Casually and rather smoothly, the blonde took a few steps back from the rail into the other's direct path. As if he were thoughtfully drawing away from his musings... And then he turned at the final moment, stepping forward to make a rather harsh clash with the rope-weaving boy. "Woah! Easy there.."

If this guy had anything loose in his pockets, it was probably gone. Kyros' fingers made feather-light touches to the area surrounding the other male's waistband. With the collision, he was hoping he wouldn't be noticed. "Sorry.."

Hearing words, human words, Taka glanced up from the walkway below her to see two men bumping into eachother. She tilted her head, grey eyes shining as she caught the quick movement on the blonde's behalf, searching th epocket's of the other. A smile twitched at the corner of her lip, she wouldn't mention anything she had seen. It wasn't her way.

From a short distance, the tall woman paused to watch the two, to see if anything interesting was going to happen. When she had first heard Kyros speak, she had thought it had been the voices again. The damned things followed her everywhere, but since her arrival at the island they had quieted down a little.

At first, Taka Baine had thought she was going insane, and after reading an obscure Tome she had found on a... treasure excersion, she thought something might have possesed her. It had only been a few weeks since the night she chose to open the cover of The Tome of Secrets and was forced to read it's contents..

Whatever effects it had on her the moment she awoke, the cacophony of voices that assaulted her mind.. They had passed now, and Taka only got the occasional whisper.

The voices were always strange, distant.. and listless. Taka wasn't sure who they were, why they spoke, where they were, and what they wanted. So far none had said anything directly to her, but she had an eery feeling they might start.

The tall, slender woman blinked, then closed her eyes for a moment to recollect her thoughts. She had let her mind wander, and she had lost focus on the two men she was watching. Returning her attention to them, she ignored whatever the book had done to her.

If only she knew.. that the whispers were just the beginning.

Tracey was just finishing his endless chain knot, it was long enough for a bracelet or anklet. Sighing a moment, he was debating something when someone crashed into him.

Blinking his blue-green eyes, he looked at the guy who bumped into him, not smiling but not angry he responds, "No harm done, mate." He then handed the man the endless chain he had been working on, not tying the ends together so that he could so what he wanted with it. "Here."

Its not that Tracey was generous, more that once a knot was done, it was on to the next and what better way to get rid of a knot then to give it away? His belt was a knot work in it self, a long rope went along the inside and rope along with other knot working tools were in there, including a large monkey's fist knot that had his only two dabloons in the center instead of a marble or other sphere item like it normally would. His skill covered it up well.

ooc: Found a great resource for what knots look like, The Monkey Fist

The endless chain was made of blue rope and not tied but looks like The bracelet towards the top of the page

Taka Baine watched the pairs exchange with an odd focus, she was trying to keep her mind off of the Book that lay, hidden, in her small home. It seemed to call to her, just as it did before she read it, but this time the summon was stronger. She bit her lower lip hard, hoping the littl jolt of pain would control her wandering mind.

To hear better, Taka reached up a hand to tuck her black hair behind an ear, and blinked when she felt something odd. With the tip of her finger, she ran it over the very top of her ear, there was no longer the smooth curve she was used too, instead a very, very faint beginnings of a point. It wouldn't be noticeable unless someone concentrated hard on the top of her ear, but to her-it was quite obvious.

A pair of golden brows furrowed slightly as he pulled his hands back, empty. Plenty of knots and rope to be found, but nothing of interest to be had. Kyros was disappointed, but not really surprised. The other didn't look rich, after all. A slight blink came as the other proffered the knot he'd been working on, but it was taken and studied for a moment. "Thank you?"

This was useless too, he decided. It wasn't going to be worth anything on a mariner's island. Still, he kept his face free of the annoyance that wanted to break into his features. His blue eyes flickered elsewhere momentarily, catching sight of a girl farther off. She was... playing with her ear? Women confused him often, and that was saying something. The best response for seeing this... was not to dwell on it. Instead, he returned his gaze to Tracey. "Do you often hand off your... crafts to strangers?" That was the nicest way he could put it. Kyros was a bit suspicious, regardless of the thing's insignificance. Apparently the idea of just giving something away without expecting anything in return had never occurred to the young man.

Tracey followed Kyros's gaze to the woman. She was pretty, and apperently liked her ear. Not dwelling on her at the moment, he turned back to the guy he was talking to. Answering his question, he responds,"I do when I can, making knots is fun and all, passes time on this no action islands; however, there isn't much I can do with them after a while. If someone else may like them, then I see no reason not to share." For a pirate, Tracey had an odd verson of greed. He loves to take, but gives willingly.

Taka was fascinated by the sudden change, and worried too. She froze in midmovement when she noticed that she had caught the attention of both men, she dropped her hand by her side, her frown only deepening. She had missed any words said, but didn't think that much had gone on.

To act casual, the piratess decided to continue along on her walk, hands staunchly at her sides and not fretting over the strange change in her ear as they wanted to.

Sydney jumps from the ferry, and lands squarely on her bare feet, instantly feeling a sliver lodge itself in her callosed feet. Flinching she straightens her vest and ruffles her hair, the butterflies fluttering in her core as she looked around this new isle that she would be staying on for the time being. She started to stroll into town, back hunched slightly, setting herself in her usual saunter, hoping her illusion holds.

As she's surveying the town, noticing a bar girl winking at her, she smiles slightly, and winks back, something else catches her eyes. A absurdly tall woman, who seemed to be strained about something, arms tensely at her sides. Instantly Sydney became jealous of the gorgeous woman walking towards her, and wished she was that tall.

Noticing as well the males down the road, and believing that at least one of them seemed like a ruffien she stepped forward towards the beauty. She cleared her throat and spoke softly, trying to keep her voice deem.

"Excuse me, mi'lady, but I was just wondering if you were alright. You seem agitated about something, and I was wondering If I could help?"

Sydney looks up with a smile and then back down, uncomfortable with the lack of slouch needed to look up into the womans eyes.

Taka paused in her step after being confornted by what seemed to be a boy with vivid red hair and a bit of a self confidence issue. She chuckled at being called Mi'lady, and quickly relaxed her posture, splaying out a hip and resting one hand on her side. "Nothings the matter with me, hon." Taka said, glad to have someone to distract her.

"No need for any mi'ladys' either, I'm Taka Baine." She said, extending the hand that wasn't resting on her hip. "You might be? New, I'm guessin' since y'just got off the ferry." She flashed a smile in response to Sid's, making sure she kept the worry and fear out her soft gray eyes.

Baine had not a lcue what was going to happen to her next, afte rhte small ear discovery.. She was rather shaken. What was this strange book she had stolen? Why did it, even now, seem to call out to her?

Sydney, in hearing the questions froze for a second, half wanting to just say Sydney, but that name was tarnished for her, as she might have heard of the red haired girl who looked like a boy, remembering her brainstorming earlier she extended her hand, slowly.

"Sid," she said kissing Miss Baine's hand to her lips with a bow. "I heard this was the ideal Isle for signing onto a pirate ship, Miss Baine."

Noting the preoccupation of the young lady, she bowed again and made to leave, blushing slightly ashamed of her callosed hands, Miss Baine's softer feminine hands reminding her of what she was not, and would possibly never get to be.

Taka snapped back to reality again, quite flattered by the gentlemenly ways of Sid, and surprised, too. She rarely got treated as such a lady, more used to the horny advances of vile seamen. "Ideal?" she echoed, musing over the word alloud. "It works. So far, I haven't been able to find a ship for myself."

She winked and grinned roughishly, "Where do you think you're going, hmm?" She said, chuckling again. "We had just gotten to talking. I'm at a loss of something to do, so you don't mind if I tag along a bit?"

What she asked was true, though she mianly wanted to distract her thoughts and keep them from wandering. Such thing was getting very complicating, as small, barely noticeable whispers seemed to echo in her head.

Sid smiles and tries to get rid of the blush looking up. "Far better than my home port, plus I had to get away."

She bites her lip momentarily, angry at herself for letting that slip. She wonders about the preoccupied young lady, but nods her head with a smile at the request.

"I suppose you could show me around." She smiles, a slightly quirky smile. "That is if you yourself are from around here?"

Her back is starting to hurt from the attempts to slouch her back and yet look up at the woman, but to look elsewhere would be rude, and to look as high as she could without putting herself in that predicament would be ruder still. She looks back at the two men, curious as to what part they had to play in the schemes of her day as she waits for the young woman to lead the way.
