Holmes of Baker Street Crew

If you're too dull to figure out why this guild exists, then perhaps you don't belong here. We're here to pay homage to the Master, discuss his cases, his foibles, his talents, and any and every other aspect of him. If you're here with any other purpose in mind, chances are, you should go elsewhere.
We are here, also, to prove once and for all that Sherlock Holmes was a real person. You may define 'real' however you wish, but the fact remains that real he was, is, and probably will continue to be for many centuries more. That he was a fictional character is immaterial.
Yet another purpose for our being here, in an organised group, is that we may skulk about the Chatterbox spewing randomly chosen quotes and driving everyone nuts. The Baker Street Irregulars are taking over, you know...

A real person! I agree. Whenever I say anything about Sherlock Holmes, my Mom says "You know he's not real, right?", to which I reply "He's totally real! Everyone who's anyone knows that!" or something along those lines. biggrin

I applaud the mission. Of course, Holmes is real. One of the things I love about Laurie King's additions to the record is that so many other "fictional" characters (like Lord Peter Wimsey) are validated also.
A toast to confusion in the Chatterbox!

Kim O'Hara... I particularly enjoyed that touch. And Dashiell Hammett in Locked Rooms. heart That was great.

I wrote about fictional characters being real for a college thesis.

Did you by any chance use Markale as a resource? His concept of the myth is truly intriguing.
