cut cut the blade shape from carbord andcover it with tinfoil, go over with clear paint if you want and forthe handle id use two wood slats and put the base of the sword in between them and wrap w/tape i used cloth and it fell apart so duct tape would work 90% better. did i cover your quettion? thats how i used to make swords.

Do you want a usable sword or something else?

You could always make a boffer weapon out of PVC pipe, Foam core and duct tape. I think that is how most are made for many LARPs.

I make my props out of styrofoam, then cover them in wonderflex.

Cardboard. Boxes. cool

I've seen a picture of a guy who made a Cloud sword out of painted cereal boxes.
It was hilarious.

It depends on which sword you're making (season 1 or 2-). I'm making the Zangetsu (the one that looks like a meat cleaver). I carved mine out of pine. It's the cheapest and easiest way to go (aside from actually cutting it out), but it will be really heavy and isn't very con friendly, especially if you're lugging it around all day.

I don't know if weapons there are sharp or not..
Since I got my sword from an estonian martial arts shop..I actucally got it from my parents as a birthday gift.And my grandfather made it non-sharp..Oh sorry for offtopic..^^;
