Rules and FAQ!Hello and welcome to our Harry Potter Guild! This thread has been designed to help out our users with some of the more frequently asked questions, as well as to understand the rules. We've also included a list of the guild moderators, as well as what they're in-charge of (if anything specific) so that you can pm us if you have a problem.

Rules!1. Please look over the Rules and Guidlines and TOS before posting anything in this guild. Any and all incursions of the rules stated in the rules or TOS will be reported DIRECTLY to an online gaia moderator, and will get you ban from this guild.2. All threads need to be related to Harry Potter. If we don't think it qualifies, we'll delete it. Off-topic discussion needs to go into the Common Room and Hallway threads!3. No duplicate or spam threads. PLEASE look over the WHOLE forum very carefully before posting a new thread (remember, there can be multiple pages of threads - check the bottom to see if there's more to be seen, not just the first page!) If you're not sure about thread content, pm myself or Emberleigh and ask about it.4. No spamming. There is a ZERO tolerance policy on bumping in this guild. We don't need or want it thanks xd 5. No flaming and trolling. We all want to get along, so don't start swearing or abusing each other, just because you think differently. Arguments about Harry Potter stuff are allowed (like in Book Discussion, for example), but straight-out abuse or ridicule of other members won't be tolerated.6. Keep the RP in the RP threads. Seriously. Make sure that the thread you are posting in is in fact, an RP thread. The Common Rooms and the Hallways are NOT for RP! They are off-topic!7. We have the right to kick out inactive members and every now and then we will do a guild cleanout or all the people with less than a certain amount of posts. PLEASE stay active!8. Always give credit where credit is due! If you find a cool essay somewhere, link it - don't repost it - and then add the discussion. If you find an awesome fanart, don't just post the pictures with no credit - send us back to the creator's page! Same with fanfic and all sorts of stuff!9. Similar to the above, but do not steal my images! I can't tell you how long it took to create them all, and I drew them just for this guild, so PLEASE do not steal them. If I catch you using one of my drawings (that's ALL the little anime mascots in this guild) without my permission, I will BAN you from this guild and then I will report you for art theft to the Site Moderators. (This is LamingtonQueen, by the way)..10. Always try and read the stickies and announcements before sending off a pm or posting a question. Likely, the question you have has been asked before. If it's not pressing, try the Questions & Suggestions thread.

Frequently Asked Questions! Many, many, many times, the questions we are asked have been asked before. Here's a list of the most frequently asked ones. We'll add to it if new questions arise. If you can't find your question in here, try the Question & Suggestions thread before pming a moderator with your answer - thanks! 3nodding
I'm new - what do I do? Well, it's really up to you. However, first I'd read all the announcements and stickies, then go an introduce yourself in the Hogwarts Express thread, which can be located in the Off-topic subforum. Check out any of the threads that intrest you and add to the discussion - get a feel for out little community xd
How do I get sorted? Simple answer is, you don't. We don't have any sorting thing located here.
So how do I know which common room I'm allowed to post in, then? The common rooms are set up so that like-minded users can get together and chat about off-topic stuff. You decide which house you would most likely belong in. If you'd like, you could also take one of the hundreds of off-site questionnaires that sort you into Houses. Don't just choose the 'cool' one though - if you're really a Hufflepuff deep down inside, you'd probably be happier hanging out with other Hufflepuffs...
Where does my thread go? Probably in the main forum. Think about what subforum it would belong in, most are common sense.
Is my thread okay to post? If it's Harry Potter related, and isn't a repeat, it's probably alright. However, you need to consider that threads like 'do you think Sirius is really dead?' or 'do you think Harry will die?' are better suited in the Book Discussion. Stuff like 'don't you love the twins?' needs to go in Favourite Characters, whilst 'omg, look at the cool art I drew!' needs to go into the Fanart thread. Consider if your thread actually NEEDS to be made. If you're still not sure, contact one of the crew members wink
Can I be a mod? Pretty please? At the moment we are going to hold a... contest... if you will to try and pick new mods. We'll have everyone nominate people they think would be good mods, or you can nominate yourselfs, and we will pick from that list the most helpful and reliable people and make them into mods.
Can I be a prefect in the Common Rooms? Yes and no. No, if you're talking in an RP sense - that would go in the RP thread. However, there should be at least one mod who is 'in' each house. Don't bother asking for Gryffindor, I'm already there ninja
What the hell is with the entry fee? To start off, whilst we moved, it will be 0 gold, but I may increase the cost to deter people who don't REALLY want to spend that 100g... sweatdrop
What's with all the little anime Hogwarts girls? I thought they would be cute. You know, so each house could have a mascot, so to speak. Four little faces that can represent the guild. Plus, graphics make the guild look more professional ninja
What are their names?? Currently, they have none. I plan to hold a guild contest in the future to name them - prizes and everything! :O
Who drew them? LamingtonQueen. Don't steal them, or I will eat you!
Can you draw me one? Can you draw one doing _______? Probably not. They take a while, and I'm both busy and lazy. I might draw some for contests or maybe just add some more as I feel the guild needs it, but who knows?
I got a problem with another user? Who do I contact? Depends. If they're harassing you within the guild, pm either myself or Emberleigh and we'll look into it. If they're harassing you outside of the guild, you'll have to contact an actual site moderator to help you out 3nodding
I'm from the old guild - how do I join? Just resend in an application like you're applying for the guild the first time, except mention that you were in the last guild.
What's this about an 'old guild'? This guild is a new form of our old guild, ||___Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry___||___The Original Harry Potter Guild___||, which was originally created by Polaris.
Why did you re-create the guild? We had a lot of issues of in-guild drama and bannings and then our captain was banned from Gaia for an unrelated matter. Since this was before Vice Captains were invited, this put us in hot water. We could no longer edit any of the guild settings, and we were left with only 2-3 mods to try and run everything.
So, the remaining mods decided it would be best to invest in another guild - one we would have control over - and just shift everything over with us - threads and users 3nodding
