Yes, there are actually trees around a side of the lake, not too deep, but not just like a little orchard either. The trees are tall and of many different kinds, some even baring fruit [ depending on the season ]. The ground is hidden underneath orange, red and yellow leaves from the previous fall. Animals live there, calling out to any passer-by, believeing them to be a small audience.

Artemis, having left the rest of her orientation around the grounds rebelliously, had decided to take a calm stroll out into the trees she had seen from a high window. Although the half-breed was not fond of large bodies of water, she felt like listening to the calm serenities in the forest.
Once there, Artemis looked up at the beautiful leaves that shaded her ivory skin from the sun, feelings the cool breeze that blew her way. She didn't expect to see anybody around. Why would she, in such a large, solitary place? Feeling her eyelids fall slowly, Artemis sat down under a tree, closing her red eyes and falling into a light sleep; though she would deny sleeping so happily.

Kimora Akello had been only to happy to escape from the non-magical self defense class. Although she didn't mind the hard edge of the teacher, she detested the cold and much preferred to be outside. Given that she didn't really know her roommate or even the campus all that well, she found herself lost quite quickly. Her mothers ornate thobe still draped over her broad, strong frame as she walked toward the nearby woods, distracted by the faint scent of honeysuckle. She bent carefully to pick some of the small flowers, putting them in her small leather bag and making several mental notes of some new herbal cigarettes she could share with that interesting Alauniira girl she had met not too long ago.
As she continued through the thick wooded area, she could not help but notice the presence of another. After a small bit of poking around and shading her dark skin from the sun, she noticed an oddly pale girl with light, practically white hair leaning against a tree.
"Excuse me, miss" she interrupted, a bit nervous to possibly wake this unknown girl, "I seem to be a bit lost. Do you know how to get back to the dormitories?"

Opening an eye, slowly, Artemis stared blankly at the girl with her bright, red eyes.
"I guess I should be going to unpack before anything anyway. I'll take you there." Her expression and tone were bored, as the elfling girl stood up and wiped any leaves off of her butt. She kindly placed her hand on her other's back. The other hand pointed straight.
"We're going that way. Follow me." Artemis began to trek forward, her long black boots making scrrch, scrrch noises against the dry marks of orange and red. It was harder to go back, having to deal with being 'The New Kid' and being ignored. The latter didn't mind Artemis. She didn't want any friends anyway. It would just be rude to leave the other student hanging there.
