This subforum is intended for longer RPs of an ongoing story sort. Playing around in a thread performing actions is more suited to the main forum.
And now: Some MORE rules and guidelines rolleyes (As with everything else this is a work in progress. PM me if you think something needs added/changed/etc.)
1. As always Gaia's and Temple rules apply.
2. Follow individual RP rules. They're set up for a reason.
2a. Please have rules for your RPs, even if just simple guidelines. Be clear.
3. Unless individual RP rules state otherwise, PM the thread creator for permission before jumping in.
4. Absolutely no "sexy" RPs. This includes but is not limited to slave, slumber party, pool party and lock-in RPs.
5. When posting or replying, please be literate. Use correct spelling and proper grammar when possible.
5a. Make clear whether you are speaking, thinking, performing an action or posting out of character. (Quotes, asterisks and the like are good to offset these things, see below.)
6. If your RP needs bumped move the storyline further along with a post.
7. Read carefully. Make sure you understand what you are replying to in order to avoid miscommunication.
8. If a lengthy OOC discussion is needed, try to create another thread in the main forum or take it to PMs. Also acceptable is conducting the discussion within the RP thread in white text. That makes it far easier to find the actual GAME stuff.
9. Make an attempt to always post content over 2 or 3 words--a full sentence should be the absolute minimum in any given situation.
Common RP signifiers:

(Colons and slashes are not recommended as this is a bbcode forum and use of them may change
how your posts display.)
OOC: (followed by an out of character comment)
(OOC: {followed by an out of character comment}) out of character

Terms:
Powergamer/Godmoder/munchkin: a roleplayer who's main interest revolves around going on a power trip. They often enjoy portraying characters such as Gods, Ancient Red Dragons or ultimately powerful mages. Characters who never display flaws or weaknesses are powergamers. (You see a lot of this on Gaia. I won't make it against the rules but if it causes too much conflict action will be taken.)
Godmoding: one player taking over another. This is extremely bad form especially in unmoderated games. A simple example: Fellanora throws powder in Vox Mortis's eyes and he instantly falls asleep.
The better way: Fellanora throws a handful of powder at Vox Mortis's face.
A good gamer will weigh this situation fairly and decide if their character can feasibly avoid this attack. (This is where moderation comes in VERY handy--or at the very least the Roll Dice Post Action if players have agreed beforehand on what sort of # takes precedence.)
Twink/Twinkie/Twinker/Twinking: This is much the same as godmoding but more geared to a character always sidestepping danger. Attacks never hit home, nothing "bad" ever happens, no other character can ever seem to get an action in edgewise on the character of a Twinkie. It's like powergaming in reverse.
Doublegaming razz laying your character and someone else’s by the other player's request, due to a player needing to go AFK, etc. For example, two players of related or otherwise involved characters may know and trust each other enough that they agree to doublegame each other's characters when necessary.
GM/DM/GOD: Just a few abbreviations for the person running a structured game. (Game Master, Dungeon Master, and Game Operations Director respectively. Storyteller is also sometimes used.)
