Chobits was one of the first animes that I saw the whole series too when I first got into anime and manga. Also, I have the first four manga.
I would deffenitally say the manga is the way to go for this series if you want to get into it. The anime takes a long time to get to plot important info, where as the manga gets it out farely quick, while still providing the great entertainment.
Also as a side note, The panties episode, is one of the funniest things in the history of anime >.>

If you get into cheesy romance's. and fan service, and very random moments of seriousness and humor, then its worth picking up.

Though, Plum, would have drove me freaking crazy. On another note, it was really cute. It was good. I think my favorite quote was from the first manga. "Why am I getting a hard-on at breakfast!?" and then when Plum demanded applause(sp?) from Kotoko after the phone call.

Chobits was a good series, i got all of the books from my library. It was a funny series, then it got a bit serious in the end, which seemed to work for it. Chobits also had a lot of suprises in the last coulple of books, some of which you, in no way, could possible see them coming.

One of the best things about chobits is that the series and the manga are so close and similar. Which is good but bad at the same time. You don't get something new from one or the other but then you aren't let down by drastic changes.

the ending made me cry, i didn't want it too end. i got three other friends of mine to read it though. they love it! Chobits reminds me of dearS alot though i'm not sure why but i guss it has to do with the the whole story both girls get kiddnaped both have higher ups after them both get found in streets, both seem to consider themselves slaves, and a heck of a lot more things are similer.... like the panties problem.
