Ah... The remake of Kanon by the fabulous Kyoto Animation....I have episode 1 download and I am just EXCITED WITH PASSION!!!

I wonder if he'll end with Ayu again. I dunno, I like Ayu, but I find that USUALLY they stray from the "main" girl... so to speak.

It definately will be interesting to see how it ends. I like the first eps. I am very happy with the art .

very old thread, as i see.....
kanon 2006 was great. the illustrations was great, as expected of KyoAni.
the part that got me really excited about this series was that Sugita Tomokazu, the seiyu of Kyon in the Suzumiya Haruhi series, played the voice of Aizawa Yuuichi.
very well-done when compared to the old 2002 done by Toei animation. the storyline is dramatic when needed, but fills the rest with supernaturalness, comedy, sarcasm, and action. in my opinion, i think this was the best anime ever in history. not the most popular, but the best.

Well this definately did turn out well, but I find that is did stray from the original story a bit... Not too much, but in any case it was still beutiful. Although actually I'm a little sad the ending was the same as the original animation.

i wanted Yuuichi and Nayuki to get together. they are such a good couple. the bad thing is that she didnt even kiss Yuuichi in this remake! i wanted to see that so badly!

Yeah, that's true, I wanted to see a Nayuki ending too, although I guess it wouldn't actually affect the overall plot that much, just kind of... change the end... Then again, any ending wouldn't really affect the overall plot unless it was Makoto, that being because then she can't uh... leave part-way throught the series. Otherwise, they still would probably hit every storyline one by one.

but i dont think the producers need to restrict themselves with the exact plot of the game itself. as long as it is accurate with any of the parts in the game, they could do whatever they want. but.... I REALLY LIKE YUUICHI'S PERSONALITY! sarcastic, funny, and serious all at once. i wish i could be like that.

OH yeah, I know what you mean. They definately captured him better in this anime than in the last one. Actually though, in the game she actually come across as just a tiny bit mean because how much his sarcasm and such can burn. XD

but hey... i heard that thats how Yuuichi was in the game, so its all good.
oh, and you noe how KyoAni worked on Kanon right after they did SHnY? many of the people on the internet think that the characteristics of Kyon was derived from Yuuichi, and you noe wut? i agree. he wasnt all that sarcastic and negative in the novels, so its obviously a parody of Yuuichi's personality.

Actually, I find that the lines in the anime of Suzumiya Haruhi are almost carried out to the letter as far as the books are concerned.

im not talking about the lines.... im talking about the comparison of Kyon's personality in the novel and in the anime. there is a big difference.

yes, the dialogue is part of the things that hint his personality, but there is always his train of thoughts whenever he is thinking aloud to himself. as far as i know, there is more reflection of Kyon's thoughts than actual dialogues that he participates in. there is also his reaction to different situations.
