Breaking the RPG mold...

I love this game because of it's differences from every other Japanese RPG.
I'll list a few to get you interested cool

- A first! An openly gay main character is in your party from the start of the game, He leaves later, and may come back, though I haven't seen him 1/3 into the game. (Wont spoil WHY)

-Quest Reminder System. On the start menu, there's a box of text telling you what to do next!

-Tactical Battle System. In the spirit of many other Strategy RPG's coming out, the battle system is set up like a grid, in which you move your characters around. Your attacks have different ranges and grid patterns, and some characters take up more than one space. It requires quite a bit of thinking.

- No money? No Problem. Weapons and Armor are not sold in shops. They are synthesized in a cool little "Core Gem" system, or found in chests ( I believe. )

-Going to town too tough? Towns don't have shopkeepers in many seperate locations. Instead, big purple gems are found floating near regenration points. You can use these stationary gems to buy healing items, and material gems, and synthesize golems (See below) and Weapons. You can also buy skills here.

-Golems? Golems are these strange creatures that are basically robotic/clockwork beings. There are over 100, and come in all shapes, sizes, and elements. They are leveled up just like characters (See below)

-Leveling. Leveling in itself doesn't provide huge stat bonuses... Instead, you use SP (Which is gained in Battles with money and EXP) You alot SP to your stats or to learning new skills. There's even a gem that adds 1200 SP (Which is pretty good in the beginning.)

I'll add more if I see any other cool things, until then, I hope you get it!
It's on the Xbox 360, and comes with a small 48 Page manga, which is a decent read.

I'll probably get it. Yes, I for some reasn found it quite funny the way the gay dude "left" your party. What were the little maid golems called? They were so awesome. I was sitting here all, "s**t, I got a maid?! Why would I need one of those!? Holy she has a gattling gun! DUDE! Dude~! She's so cool!"

And yes, the maid's for me, were quite useful. My only problem with it was that wierd number thingy that made you die when it ran out. That pissed me off when I ran out half way through the sewers.
