Hours passed but Jezzel couldn't sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, images of the battle with Demyx flashed before her. The fight had served its purpose. She now knew with what strength she was dealing. Demyx was a fierce demon in battle and her future report to Lucifer would surely please him. She had risked a lot but she had secured her aim. Jezzel also realized that after centuries of serious inactivity left her a target to easy attacks. She had to start training her mental abilities again. She had the skill to stop time even up to an hour but now even few minutes were consuming too much energies. Her speed had decreased too.
After reflecting on her up coming training, Jezzel sighed and finally slept but not before wondering who had healed her.
Jezzel woke up, feeling more refreshed but still not in her best form. She removed the bandage from her hand as she walked up to her closet and changed. Her new black out fit was similar to the old one. The difference was that this was skimpier and showed more flash. Her red lips didn't show any sign of battles as she took her stuff in hand and left her chamber.
Lucifer returned to hell slowly. The lack of activity in heaven confused him. Something was going on somewhere, and he had not been able to find it. He let out a sigh, and hoped Tristan was having luck with the exiles. He entered his throne room, and sat down irritated even more then before he had left. He looked to a servant. "Has there been any word of Jezzel, and Demyx?" he growled. Lucifer sighed as the servant trembled uncontrollably in fear. He thought about kicking him, but he was just to depressed. He stomped to his throne, and sank down into the cushion.
Jezzel went to the Training Room. The room was circular in form with a dark rosewood floor boards. She went over to the centre, where a circular pattern was engraved in the wood. Jezzel sat exactly in the middle, crossing her legs and closed her eyes. Her energy appeared as a faint glow around her as it intensified with every passing minute. Her concentration grew and she started sensing the auras of the demons of hell. Lucifer's was the brightest. Its intensity sometimes hindered her concentration. Her body wanted to share that pure energy that only a fallen angel like him possessed. Jezzel never saw heaven, she only knew about it through her mother's tales and the rumours that the old demons shared. As an hour went by, Jezzel's energy was a glowing deep red. As she opened her eyes for a bit she noticed her body was changing slowly. She was slowly returning to her birth form and so she hissed and got up as she changed back to her usual appearance. She hated her birth form the most. Transforming in the hideous male demons didn't disturb her as much but she never could stand looking at true self. Jezzel made her staff appear in her right hand as she practiced some manoeuvres, twirling her staff, trusting and all. She then passed her hand over her staff, turning it into her night black blade. Jezzel continued practising as she planned to visit Lucifer later.
Demyx kept walking briskly towards Lucifer's throne room, pretending to be unaware of Elabeth so close behind him. He wasn't so sure about this whole idea of joining the demons' cause but still...War is like Death...they are both inevitable he kept saying to himself.
Demyx suddenly stopped in front of a huge, tall door- some see it as the door to their doom, others see it as the door to success in power after eternal nightmares...He twisted the cold, rusty door knob slowly and entered leaving the door opened behind him. This was the darkest room in the entire underworld but today it seemed brighter with all the fire lit torches. He stood on his guard "I'd like to have a word with you" his voice echoed while his glittering eyes ran from side to side as if he was sensing hostility and his fists were clenched firmly. He never fully trusted Lucifer even though Abadon used to say that he must respect him as an uncle of sorts.
Lucifer raised his aching head. He wanted to be left alone, but seeing as how that wasn't possible he sighed with irritation. "Alright. Speak then if that is what you have come to do." He waited patiently for what Demyx would say. Contempt for the situation growing with every minute.
Demyx stood still but then he folded his arms to release a little tension and took a deep sigh "I have been noticing your army is disorganized and is getting weaker everyday" he stated firmly while jesting with his left hand every now and then. "Since I'm fed up of waiting for a real battle I thought I may be useful and maybe deal with some of your dirty work" he said abruptly with determination. He finally felt as if he was doing the right thing at least as a matter of becoming stronger.
Lucifer glared at him as he thought over all that was going on. "So you have finally come to your senses. See what you can do with the troops then if you like." he said sitting back into his throne.
"Your troops?!" he smirked, "they can be very helpful" he said sarcastically. "Come on they are just losers who can only waste my time" he snapped at Lucifer. "If I am to join you than it would only be under one circumstance" he explained to the dark figure in front of him. "I won't be dealing with any of your lowly demons, I will be your last resort- your ace who will clean up some great mess" he adhered firmly. “I won't be running around wasting my time in persuading humans or provoking angels or exiles or whatever... I'm just good at quick killing" he paused "So you name it and I'll do it my way otherwise there's no point in me standing here" he concluded.
Lucifer smirked at him. "You think to highly of yourself... Why should I trust you instead of vaporizing you for what you have already done?"
"I'm sure you need me and I'm just taking an advantage, also you don't have other choices if you really want to win this battle" Demyx responded, his opinion and his determination were as firm as ever. "You knew my father and you know he was my mentor. What happened in Rome was a silly mistake but I have fixed it perfectly, I have proven myself worthy haven't I?" he kept calm and cool despite Lucifer's threat, he was sure of himself and very confident.
He chuckled to himself. "Don't flatter yourself. I NEED no one. Now if you wish to continue with your ... one circumstance then you are welcome this one time only to leave hell. However, if you choose to go ahead, and devote your unyielding loyalty to me I can forgive the incident in Rome."
"I will be as loyal as ever of course" he kneeled in front of his prince "and I will never question you don't worry" he stood up again "But I won't tolerate being used like a pawn in a chess game, I am and will always be at your service just like my father did before me but I wish to be respected and trusted just like you did with my father- nothing more nor less" he said coldly, he knew he was risking but he had nothing else to lose except his 'cursed life' which he was never proud of.
"Respect, and trust come with time. For now you will do as I desire. Skills are not everything here. Your mere claims here are enough for me to throw you out to the pits..." he paused thinking over Demyx's father. "...However, I will give you a chance. As I said before. Work with the troops, see what you can do with refining their skills. Don't get me wrong Demyx I will be watching you. Nothing about you thus far has given me any faith in your loyalties."
"As you wish but so as you know I don't give a damn about my new 'cursed life' and about my new powers, so if you want to get rid of me I won't stop you but after the war don't say I didn't warn you" he spoke sharply looking Lucifer in the eye. "And no this is not a threat but a suggestion, I have mastered a lot of skills and if I die you would have lost a valuable pawn" Demyx concluded bluntly, the powerfully twisted demonic look once more shaping in his irises.
"A pawn is only as valuable as they are trust worthy." Lucifer said looking him directly in the eye. "Now go."
"A pawn has but a short life meaning that it is never able to enjoy the king's trust... it is meant to die" He replied in shrewd words. "I am not a pawn however I'm not saying that I am a knight either" he smiled carefully. "I have to go play with your troops now, I'll try to turn them into surviving pawns at least but I can't promise anything exciting" he said as he gave his back to Lucifer and walked away finally getting out of the throne room and closing the door behind him.
As the door closed Lucifer smiled to himself. "If he drops his attitude he might make it here. Let's see what time has in store for him." He looked over to the servant whom seemed confused. Lucifer kicked him down. "No I wasn't talking to you."
Jezzel wiped her forehead from sweat beads. After 3 hours training she was exhausted. As she made her staff disappear in thin air and replaced her black dress to a wine coloured one. It was long and not one of her usual short skirts but this time she had a low cut over her breasts and at the back. Her long black hair was shining. As she made her way to Lucifer's throne room she noticed a pale looking woman outside. Her hair was blonde and she looked different from any demons she had encountered in hell. Then she saw Demyx coming out from the Throne room and moved to talk to the woman.
Jezzel just ignored her as she felt a bit jealous but then made her way, chin up high and pushed open the door, not glancing at Demyx.
Lucifer looked up at the new intruder. "Yes?" he asked raising his eyebrow at Jezzel.
"I thought you'd ask for me to come, but since you didn't I came myself. Maybe this is not a good time. I'll just leave if you want." She told him with a seductive smile on her blood red lips.
A smirk befell his face again. "I see you are back to yourself." he said motioning to a chair of mainly cushions. "Come in."
Jezzel smiled contentedly as she entered, her hips and hair swaying as her stiletto shoes clicked. "I'm glad you're receiving me. I see you still look tired and worried." She told him, sitting beside him, though lower, her legs crossed by her side, one of her hands on his thigh.
He looked down at her hand curiously, but decided not to bother. He wondered what her intentions were, and if she thought she could manoeuvre her way higher by such ploys. "I have been to heaven recently, and I am more sure then ever that they are on the move. It should be only a matter of time." he said an edge to his voice.
Her amber eyes gleamed in the light of the torches as she tilted her head sideways, "I hate those angels and I'll do what it takes to see their downfall soon." She told him. "I saw Demyx exiting earlier. May I know what he came here for?" She asked him curiously.
"I would assume the same as you. To assure his place here." Lucifer answered as if it were a common thing. "Yes, the angels must be stopped. You will take some of the troops, and work with them on their skills. Between you, and Demyx I expect them to be at their best." Lucifer thought a moment his eyes a blaze with irritation. "You were not with out fault in Rome." he said. "You have fallen slightly in my eyes." he said. "I expect to see you stronger then before."
"I'm sorry about what happened in Rome but at least I served you in my defeat. Finally I've managed to test Demyx's abilities. I saw the cold-hearted Demon in him and for a split second his eyes gleamed with a blood thirsty desire." She said pausing slightly, "If he came to secure his place, then it must mean he finally made up his mind and chose the right side."
"So it would seem." Lucifer said. His tone was cold, and distant as he wondered which would surpass the other. "Go, and work with the troops I need them all ready to go soon." he said. "I will attack before those damn angels are ready to defend themselves." he said with a wave. He need to rest, and regain his composure.
Jezzel sighed and got up reluctantly, "I shall leave immediately" She bowed and turned to leave.
Lucifer watched her leave before he stood, and walked toward his door leading to his chambers where he could rest. He walked in, and sank down into the bed. The doors closing everything out behind him.
