Cloud Strife of Nibelheim

PostPosted: Sat Dec 02, 2006 4:09 am

REMODELING DONE BY: Cloud Strife of Nibelheim

A church on the western edge of town that has long been abandoned by its pastor and congregation, the only reason it still stands is the fact that it holds some significant meaning to the leader of the Syndicate. Very few people ever wander into or near the church, since it is seemingly completely abandoned.

Very few times, though, Vicious has been spotted in or around the area of the church. It always seemed as if he was searching, or waiting for something to appear...and whenever he is there, his hand never wanders very far from the hilt of his sword.

(NEW)
Since the fall of Callisto into the hands of the Rebellion, the Church has been a constant reverie for the last of the Ancient's, Aeris Gainsborough. Though the church once held significant meaning to the Syndicate and its' missing leader, whatever secrets it kept have been lost with Vicious.

Now, the floor of the church is lined with beautiful flowers that grow, though the soil seems unfit. They are cultivated and cared for tirelessly by Aeris, who sells her flowers now throughout the city to raise the citizen morale and remind them that there is still some good in this world...even if the Military had hidden it from them for years.

Onyx wondered into the Church, feeling the peacefulness it gave off from outside. She kept her composure as she noticed there were flowers all over the floor. She walked deeper into the church and looked behind her, before she sat on one of the benchs. She smiled to herself as she looked at all the flowers.

"Doesn't matter what side of the war you are on. No matter where you are there will always be flowers. Delicate, fragile yet utterly resilient. Willing to grow through the creak of cement if they have to."

Onyx stayed there for a while before she stood up and vanished. Knowing it was best she was else where.

As the Tournament was preparing for its quarterfinal matches, the governor of Costa del Sol made his way towards what was in his opinion the most beautiful place in the city. More colorful than the sunset at the docks...and more fantastic than the sprawling buildings and the people who walked the street under the starlit, sea-side nights. The large wooden doors swung open with a creak, and in the doorway, backlit by the fading sun, was Cloud Strife and his massive Buster Sword.

Cloud stepped into the aging church quietly, and made his way towards the area with the open floorboards where the flowers now bloomed, and kneeled, remembering the first time he had fallen into a church filled with flowers...long ago, in the city of Midgar. He wondered what had happened to the old church...Aeris's Church...beneath the dark plate of the Floating City.

"Aeris grew them," he told him simply, his eyes still transfixed by the blossoms. By the voice and sounds he knew that his guest was his friend, Seipher of Aron. He was likely trying to find a measure of peace before his Tournament fight. "She's always had a gift for making life more beautiful."

"those closest too us have a tendency to do that. one must always remember those they loved even after their gone. for without the ones you care for in heart and memorie your bound to loose your way." he looked at the flowers and smiled. "you'll see her again in the after life i'm sure of it." he was still worried about his freind whom he had to face later today he was hoping that the fight wouldn't lead to his freind being severly injured.

"Sooner than you think, actually," Cloud spoke, a ghost of a smile on his lips as he turned to his friend. "Aeris is back, Seipher. By some will, she came back to us during the battle here for Callisto." The ex-SOLDIER's face wore a far off expression as he turned his mako-eyes back to the colorful flowers. Beneath his dreamy expression, however, was a very obvious hint of disbelief. It seemed that even though he had seen it with his own eyes, it still had not quite sunk in that she had, indeed, returned to him.

"She came back to us..." he whispered to a nearby tulip, "...she came back to me."

"she had longed for the one who filled her life with smiles. i guess you two should be happy to be together once more." he smiled looking at the flower he was talking to he knew the flowers must have been like children to her.

"It looks that way," Cloud muttered quietly, before standing to his full height and walking to the other side of the flowers. "Are you nervous?" he asked suddenly, his eyes raising to his friend. He wore a neutral expression as usual, though it was a strange question for him to ask.

"I don't want to harm my freind i have already seen him be reborn once before i don't want that to happen to him again i know the contest isn't to the death but if people saw any weekness in his performance then they might exploit it against him. so i came here to prey for his safety." he didn't doubt his abilities but the intentions of some in the crowds.

"It's a dangerous business when you fight in the public's eye, because enemies get a chance to study your techniques," the governor spoke, reminding Seipher of what he most likely already knew. Cloud paused for a moment, adjusting the sleeve on his left arm before continuing. "However, you have to keep in mind that whatever techniques they see you use, are techniques they will expect you to use again. Do you understand?"

" i have more technuiqes then i have shown i hold back what i can so that way they aren't expecting it. the more moves one knows the more possabilities but the way one sues their moves as well can make the situation change as well."
