A small cottage on the Eastern peninsula of the Kerwon Continent. Rumored to live inside is a mystical sage with unrivaled knowledge of the World and its long History. Reclusive to a fault, this man doesn't speak with just anybody...and ejects trespassers with extreme prejudice!
For your own safety, don't touch his hair. God no, don't touch his hair!

Onyx had been in Costa del sol getting her new weapon, Tiamat, when she over heard someone speaking of a sage that knew everything but didn't reall talk to anyone. She was curious so she wanted to chck it out. Her emerald eyes scanned the cottage before she walked up to the door and knocked on it softly. She kept her guard up knowing it could be a trap. She took a couple steps back from the door.

The forest around his cottage was thick, but for once, it seemed to have failed to keep out the travellers. He sighed in aggravation. His knowledge was a valuable commodity to those who knew how to unlock it, but none ever seemed to understand. Answers never come without a price.
A swift bolt of lightning struck the ground before the trespasser's feet, a warning to thwart those who were not serious in their pursuit. Seconds later, the door swung open to reveal a cloaked man. His shaded eyes regarded her with mild interest. Yes, he had heard of this one.
"Can't you people take a hint?!" he barked in a dialect that was far too refined for a man living alone in a forest cabin. "I haven't the time to waste on curious wayfarers and slovenly hicks searching for a free meal!"

Onyx blinked her emerald eyes before placing her book in her bag. She regarded the lightning scorch mark at her feet, before looking at the man infront of her. "Things that are free have no real value to them, free things are known to everyone." Onyx took a step forward, infront of the mark. "I'm here for knowledge that is valuable, value comes from things that are worked for." She stood there, watching the cloaked figure, wondering whether or not he was what other claimed him to be. Judging by the voice, I would assume so. Then again I've been wrong before

"In the search of knowledge...? I see. Well, you're right, knowledge must be obtained through hard work," the sage agreed. "Otherwise, it is impossible to fully grasp the lessons. That is a lesson I learned when I was very, very young..."
He trailed off, in deep thought. A moment passed, before another lightning bolt strike the ground before her.
"I haven't the time to share wisdom with just anyone, you know! If you want to know my secrets, you'll have to do something for me first. Not that a peasant like you could ever accomplish that type of feat..." he thought for a moment, a small laugh evidence of his doubt. He tilted his head suddenly, as if batting around the thought in his mind.
"Then again, maybe you could..."

"JUUUUUUUUUSTTTTTTTTTTIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Came a ridiculous shout as a "masked" figure lept out of the trees, sliding to a halt just short of the wizard (Not unlikely a threat to his health). "I hear there's an old wizard guy here! Everybody was saying that he was all like "Buaaahh!" and they were like "GuaaaahhhhH!" and so I was like "Ah-ha! Justice! And you can believe that cause it was in front of like, people and stuff!"
Ryo'man' smirked, looking at the two. His face suddenly turned slightly dumbfounded though as he began turning his head back and forth. "Huh...I could have sworn this was where they said he was. Hey, have either of you seen an old guy? Like, I'm guessing 50, probably short and pudgy, and has bad gray hair? I was gonna ask him about something..." Ryo turned to the others, shrugging.

"MIND YOUR TONGUE, BUFFOON!" the sage screamed at the tactless newcomer, unleashing a Thunder Bomb that easily singed every hair on the would-be hero's body. Whoever he was, his choice of words was definitely lacking in wit and wisdom.

Ryo coughed, the ash falling away from his face. "Can I get you a glass of water, sparky? I take it you're the 'old, bad haired' wizard I heard of...I take it you're very touchy about your age? I don't see why...I mean, you're not even QUITE middle-aged yet! You've got a few years, and I don't see ONE gray hair...man, those scouts must need glasses, or something."
Ryo looked over at Onyx, glaring. The Empire's lapdog had also come searching for the Powerful Wizard? He couldn't let them take whatever knowledge that might be had...and even if the wizard would go willingly, he couldn't let such a prize fall into the hands of Ghaleon.

The sage resisted the urge to growl.
"How ignorant can you BE?!" he chided the mysterious person, pausing at the mention of scouts. "Hey, wait a minute...THOSE GUYS WHO KEPT BOTHERING ME WERE SENT BY YOU?!?!"
Another volley of thunder magic struck the hero.
"Jeez, you remind me of..." the sage paused, the trademark antics of a hero from long ago bringing about a revelation in his mind. His shaded eyes widened in realization. 'L-Leo?!'
"What are you doing here?!"

"Uh, I thought I already told you, I am...HE WHO DOES NOT ALLOW EVIL...THE CHAMPION OF JUSTICE...THE GREAT, RYOMAN!!!!" He struck the poses, smirking at the end. Even if nothing else moved this stubborn sage, he knew that even his thick hair couldn't stop such beauty and justiceness from penetrating that skull of his!
"I've come because, I told you, I want to find out something from you...I want to find out the location of my friend, who left me this piece of parchment when he disappeared last. I don't understand, and without him I'm afraid our Resistance might be doomed." Ryo pulled forth Nash's Parchment, revealing the sacred item that he had been given ere the changing of the world. The riddles it still held were foreign and clouded from his vision, but Nash had always been the smart one, and if he could find him maybe he could get his answers.

'He really can't figure it out?' the sage thought, giving the old parchment a once-over. There was a riddle...several riddles, actually...each with an answer to be found throughout the world. 'Then again, this is Ryo...guess he's still got a lot to learn.'
"Knowledge never comes so easy, Ryoman. If you want your answers you have to do something for me, first," he explained, angling his head to a condescending tilt. "Not that a peasant like you could ever accomplish that feat..."
He considered the comment for a moment, then tilted his head as if batting it around in his mind.
'Then again, maybe he can...'

"You scratch my back I scratch yours huh? Well I say no! I don't like backs...they're hairy, and you don't know where they've been! But if there's ANYTHING else I can do for you, then you have yourself a deal!" Ryo smirked, feeling his identity secure and his mission beginning to prove fruitfull. Never the less, with the Emperial standing nearby, he would have to be quick lest they get ahead of him when this 'game' began...

"What the...?! Are you out of your mind!?" the sage shouted, nearly losing his cloak. "I'm not so sure you're the guy for this mission..." he reconsidered, unsure if this man was mentally stable enough to entrust with such an important task. Still, it would be unfair of him not to give him a shot if it was, indeed, the White Knight Leo...
"All right, answer me this question. Get it right, we've got a deal. Answer it wrong, and I scorch your tail with powerful thunder magic and send you from this outpost never to return, got it?!"

"NO YOU BUMBLING, HALF-WIT, MERIBIAN BABOON!!" the sage shouted, sparks almost literally flying from beneath his cloak. "The question is this:'
'Why does an M&M melt in your mouth and not in your hand?"
