A ShinRa Inc. Memo

From: Rufus G. Shinra, President of ShinRa Electric Incorporated

To: SOLDIERS, Turks, and other active personel in the ShinRa Corporation

Topic: Mission Requests and Briefings

Body: All ShinRa personel should check this bulletin board daily from here on out, in order to adequately fulfill your duties as a member of our company. Mission briefings will be posted below as they are requested, and then based on who replies each bill, we will assign personel to complete each mission.

Mission are to be carried out in an efficient and timely manner, and you must be assigned to a mission to complete it. If you do not check with your superior before you accept an unassigned bill, it will result in the termination of your contract and position in the ShinRa Inc. Also, if your name is already assigned to a bill, it is your duty to complete that mission without question. Anything else, and let's say you would rather not wish to be a member of our company any longer.

Missions will be posted as they come to be necessary, and will be posted by either myself, Heidegger, Tseng, or another of the ShinRa Inc. top brass. If a problem persists that you feel needs attention, bring it to our attention before you post it on the bulletin board. If you do not...well, you get the picture.

Again, all forms will be posted below, some with assignments already made, while some will be open to volunteers. Remember, the more missions you complete, and the more efficient you are in completing them, the higher your standing within the company. Understood?

Here is the model form for all bills posted on the Mission Briefing Bulletin Board:

"Read the Bulletin Board!" (Title of the bill)

Date Posted: December 24, 2006 (When was this bill posted?)
Posted By: President Rufus G. Shinra (Who is ordering this mission to be completed?)
Briefing: In the ShinRa Corporation Headquarters, there is a digital bulletin board on every level from 60-70 which lists the briefing on each mission posted by the ShinRa Corporation. It is your duty as a member of the corporation to stay up to date on these missions, and to accept and execute them as you are ordered. At President Rufus' request, you are to read this bulletin board and continue to check it daily for more information and missions pertaining to you. Got it? (The story)
Mission Objective: Read the Bulletin Board on your floor in the ShinRa Corporation daily! (The goal of the mission)
Secondary Objective: Complete any missions assigned to you! (Secondary goal of the mission.)
Special Objective: (None) (Other important goals that may also be possible on a certain mission.)
Mission Commanding Officer: All SOLDIERS, Turks, and ShinRa Employees (leader of the mission)
Mission Support: None (Partners, infantry units, etc.)
Mission Inventory: No materials needed. (Helicopters, bombs, etc.)
Other Notes: If you do not complete this mission, you are incompetent and consequently, fired. (Any special notes or other requests.)

Mission Accepted On: (Date the Mission was read and accepted by the mission's commanding officer.)
Mission Accepted By: ("Signature of the commanding officer")
Mission Completed On: (Date the Mission was completed.)

Mission Report: (Summary of the mission as submitted by the commanding officer of a mission. Should note the status of all assigned objectives, any resistance met, and any losses (financial or personal) incurred during the execution of the mission. Include also any notes which you might deem important to the ShinRa Inc. brass. Use your own discretion, but do be wise about what you include. This should be submitted directly to your commanding officer. Report should also include the "Mission Accepted On" date, the signature of the commanding officer, and the "Mission Completed On" date at the top. Be thorough, but don't fill the page with useless information.)

Thank you for your cooperation, and continued service to the ShinRa Inc.

Cordially,

Rufus G. ShinRa, President of ShinRa Incorporated.

"Operation Passing Storm"

Date Posted: December 25, 2006
Posted By: Tseng, Commander of the Turks
Briefing: Reports of storms brewing below the plates in Sector 4 have lead us to believe that someone using elemental materia is causing havoc and raising the fears of the common people. At any rate, storms below the plate are impossible, and therefore, this matter warrants an investigation whether or not there is, in fact, a terrorist at large. We cannot have a terrorist causing problems below the plate, because eventually, it will spill into our streets above. If there is a terrorist, it is likely he will have a few followers, so be prepared for any eventualities. You may have to search a few of the abandoned warehouses and homes to find his/her base.
Mission Objective: Discover and identify the source of the so-called storms in Sector Four.
Secondary Objective: If the source is, in fact, a man using elemental materia, you are to apprehend him and bring him back to ShinRa Headquarters by whatever means necessary.
Special Objective: Execute your mission with as little collateral damage as possible. NO civilian casualties.
Mission Commanding Officer: Not yet assigned.
Mission Support: No partner yet assigned, but a standard military soldier dispatch unit of two MP's will be your support. Officers Waylon and Jennings will be the two support units.
Mission Inventory: One pair of infrared goggles and a special train at the station in Sector Four to bring back any suspects.
Other Notes: This mission is to be kept as quiet as possible. It is better for the people to believe in impossible storms than that a terrorist is at work.

Mission Accepted On: Not yet accepted.
Mission Accepted By: Not yet accepted.
Mission Completed On: Not yet completed.

Mission Report: Not yet complete.

"Operation Black Dagger"

Date Posted: December 25, 2006
Posted By: Heidegger, Head of Public Safety and Maintenance
Briefing: A former member of ShinRa's SOLDIER program named Kongol has defected from the company and is now raising support for an anti-ShinRa campaign in Rocket Town. The people of Rocket Town are already upset with the company for the failure of ShinRa No. 26, so it is imperitive that we put down this attempt before it catches on with the public. Intelligence tells us that the SOLDIER is camped out just outside of Rocket Town, near the launch pad for the old rocket. By day, he searches the town for those who will join him, and by night he makes plans at his camp on the outskirts of town. It is our belief that the best time to strike from the standpoint of public opinion would at night and at their campsite. Given the dangerous nature of the defective SOLDIER, the authorization of deadly force has been given.
Mission Objective: Eliminate the ex-SOLDIER and any members of his resistance group that stand in your way.
Secondary Objective: Deliver a story to the citizens of Rocket Town to ease their worries about the SOLDIER and whatever stories he might have told them. Public opinion in a ShinRa city so near to Midgar is important, and must be kept at a high level.
Special Objective: Avoid all civilian casualties, and do not damage the rocket if at all possible. Do not let fighting spread into the town.
Mission Commanding Officer: Karel Morosov, SOLDIER 1st Class
Mission Support: Two standard soldier units of two MP's per unit. Officers Eckle, Santoro, Ronso, and Yoshi will be the support units.
Mission Inventory: Four mako-powered automatic rifles for the support units, two pairs of infrared goggles, one ShinRa-type helicopter.
Other Notes: This SOLDIER is raising support in a ShinRa governed town in hopes of turning the public support against the company. Tensions in Rocket Town were already high as a result of the failed rocket launch, so it is a precarious situation for us here at ShinRa. It is imperitive that we eliminate the SOLDIER responsible, and all those who support him. At the same time, it is also important that we smooth over the tensions in Rocket Town, because it is an important tactical location in the development plans of the company. This is a deadly adversary, and thus, we have authorized the use of whatever means necessary to complete this mission. Failure is not an option.

Mission Accepted On: January 1, 2007

"Operation Smooth Descent"

Date Posted: December 26, 2006
Posted By: Heidegger, Head of Public Safety and Maintenance
Briefing: A non-militant anti-ShinRa faction has taken up residence in an underground facility in the city of Tokyo, where they feel the local government will keep them out of our reach. From there, they have been making videos to show the public with regards to the "damage" our reactors our doing to the World. This is a clear case of propoganda war slandering the good name of our noble president, Rufus. While they pose very little military threat, we cannot allow them to sully the good name of the company from their rat-hole any longer. Somehow, we must infiltrate their base without stirring the defenses of the Tokyo government, and shut down their operation once and for all. Their leader is a man by the name of Rory Childers, an environmentalist who has long opposed the ShinRa Corporation's plans to expand our Makou production worldwide. As he is both their financial and spiritual leader, his apprehension or elimination should be enough to put an end to this little movement.
Mission Objective: Stop production of the anti-ShinRa videos and apprehend the head of the group that created them, Rory Childers.
Secondary Objective: Eliminate all who resist, and use deadly force if you must to silence Mr. Childers. Also, destroy the base of operations and the equipment they have been using to produce these videos.
Special Objective: Do NOT alert the Tokyo government to your presence until AFTER you have left.
Mission Commanding Officer: Not yet assigned.
Mission Support: No partner yet assigned. None
Mission Inventory: ShinRa-type helicopter (Not to enter the city limits), 4 units of ShinRa's finest explosives, and two ShinRa-type motorbikes for speedy transportation within the city.
Other Notes: This is a precarious mission in that we cannot alert the Tokyo government to our presence. If they are to catch wind of our presence, we will have much more than this small faction on our hands, with the possible inclusion of the Dragons of Heaven and Earth. It is imperitive that we procede with caution, and eliminate the group thoroughly. Afterwards, we will destroy their equipment and underground base. These explosions should create havoc in the city, as we have given you far more explosives than necessary. With luck, the Tokyo government will blame the incident on Childers and his group, painting a good picture of ShinRa in their eyes. For this to work, you must evacuate the city as soon as possible after planting the explosives. Do NOT fly within Tokyo airspace using our helicopter! Use the motorbikes for high-speed transportation once you have reached the borders.

"Operation Crescent Dawn"

Date Posted: December 26, 2006
Posted By: Tseng, Commander of the Turks
Briefing: It has come to our attention that a former employee of ours, one Doctor Lucrecia Crescent, has been located somewhere near the Gold Saucer area on the Ordalia Continent. Dr. Crescent was, and still is a very valuable person to the ShinRa Corporation's Scientific Research Department, and may have information that is vital to several of our Top Secret Research Projects. Her recovery has become a top priority to the company. We would like to have her returned to us by whatever means necessary.
Mission Objective: Locate Dr. Crescent and call back and report to the ShinRa Headquarters. Then, recover the doctor and bring her back to Midgar.
Secondary Objective: Eliminate ANY opposition and use whatever means necessary to return Dr. Crescent to the ShinRa.
Special Objective: Absolutely NO harm is to come to Dr. Crescent. Resistance is not anticipated, but if it is, secure the doctor before you engage.
Mission Commanding Officer: Not yet assigned.
Mission Support: No partner yet assigned. Standard dispatch unit of two MP's will be assigned. Officers Carbuncle and Saben will be the supporting officers. Also, Professor Hojo has requested to accompany the attending party. Approval of his request is still pending.
Mission Inventory: One Gelnika-type long-range cargo airship, one ShinRa-type helicopter, two mako-sensitive transport vessels, two materia cutters for fossil recovery, two sets of ShinRa-type heavy artillery, and two ShinRa-type heavy blast shields.
Other Notes: Take the utmost precaution when recovering the doctor. Such a precarious recovery procedure on foreign soil and of such a precious subject is certain to have a high level of difficulty. Whatever you do, however, you must protect the doctor and bring her back to Midgar.

"Operation Hidden Treasure"

Date Posted: December 28, 2006
Posted By: Rufus Shinra, President of ShinRa Inc.
Briefing: When Midgar pulled out of the Aronian capital, we left behind a rather large and profitable Makou reactor for those fools in Aron to use. However, to allow them to make a profit off of our technology is simply unacceptable, so we have decided to destroy the power grid between the reactor and the city. Still, there are still two very important things we can gather from the reactor, which are just as important as destroying the output device. Two materia...one Huge, and another unknown...are still in the reactor, and must be retrieved. The means by which these objectives are inconsequential, only their execution.
Mission Objective: Destroy the power output from the ShinRa Makou Reactor to the Aronian Capital City.
Secondary Objective: Recover the Huge Materia and the new materia from the core of the reactor and return them to the ShinRa Headquarters in Midgar.
Special Objective: Authorization to recover by whatever means necessary is granted.
Mission Commanding Officer: Roka of the Turks
Mission Support: Kano of the Turks
Mission Inventory: ShinRa-type helicopter to reach destination, two units of ShinRa's Finest explosives, and two makou-resistant arms for the extraction of the Huge and new materia.
Other Notes: First priority is the materia, second is the reactor. If we must destroy the reactor for any reason, do it. If you must choose between the reactor and the materia, take the materia.

Mission Accepted On: December 28, 2006
