Welcome to the Holistic Health and Eco-Conscious Living Guild! This is the thread to post introductions. There's no questionnaire to fill out--just feel free to bring up anything you like.
I totally got a wooden trunk while making this thread. Lucky!

You can call me Annalixa, I'm going to be 21 this year. I'm working for a Bachelor's in Creative Writing and Philosophy. If all goes well, I'll be graduating in May of 2008.
I practice Hatha Yoga (as in, I took a six week course and then continue to do the same routines and asanas on my own, though I occasionally add other asanas to the mix). In my spare time, I like to play video games, cruise the internet, watch movies/anime, read, and also read Tarot. I don't watch TV so much now, since MST3K's been taken off the air. sad

I'm Blindfaith^_^. Blind or faith are fin abreviations too. I will be 21 in May and I'm currently in college looking to major in English with a focus in Creative Writing and a minor in Women's Studies. Yes I know it is potentially the most useless degree ever, but a degree is still a degree and I should have one in the spring of 2008.
I do whatever Yoga I can sign myself up for, so unfortunately I'm fairly ignorant on the types. I also practice Reiki, which is a form of energy healing. I do lots of tarot readings for both friends and strangers, and I've always been trying to get into herbalism, but I have a lot of time putting the knoweldge into practical use and therefor often forget it. I'm hoping this guild may be able to help me learn and use herbs more. I love to grow all kinds of plants.
Besides college and my random intersts in all kinds of New Age Healing, I do normal friend activities like going to the movies, or going on day trips to different sights. I also knit a lot. I am strongly into the Pagan movement and pagan awareness and I am a strongly into learning about religions and religious rights. I also have a lot of interest in women's rights (hence the women's studies minor).
So yeah I'm here and woot to this guild ^_^

A knitter! whee I crochet a little bit (my mother taught me). I can never get the hang of knitting, though.
It's okay if your degree is useless. Mine is too. sad

Hi, I'm unknowing. I'm 22, engaged, and about to have a baby in a month/month 1/2! Annalixa's no poo thread brought me here. (I found that thread when I was bored one day and was looking at people's post history in the Linux guild. razz )
When I wasn't pregnant I did Vinyasa yoga, and recently got a pregnancy vinyasa yoga DVD that I haven't tried yet. I don't know why I've been procrastinating, and pretty soon I won't even be pregnant anymore!
I've been going on and off to a community college, and major in art. I've switched majors a lot, but art is something I've always fallen back on. If I eventually switch to a four-year college, I will probably minor in a foreign language or some type of history.
I find religion and , well, "mystical' type things terribly interesting from a sociology standpoint, but have long not needed it myself. (Mystical is the only word I could think of to collectively describe things like Tarot, astrology, and the like.) My interests are in movies, reading, creative activities, filling my head with often useless trivia, and my family. Speaking of MST3k, I'm watching that right now! ^.^ Usually it's all I watch thanks to wonderful people encoding their video taped episodes.

Mine is too. sad Ah, I'm quite the other way around in regard to knitting vs crochet (my mother is still trying to teach me to crochet ocassionally). But it seems for most people you can take to one of the other but its hard to get both. Hello unknowing good to meet you too ^.^ I actually stumbled on the No Poo thread by looking at thread histories from Sacred Texts while bored.

Hey, I'm Belina. I'm a sophomore in high school, and plan on going to the Academy of Arts University and major in Directing and Fashion, and get my BFA in Directing. I love the environment, and for religious knowledge, I'm Pagan and proud...Well, that's about it....

Hello! heart I'm Bonnie. I'm twenty (although I don't look or act it, and growing up too much freaks me out) and I'm completing my second year of college and transferring from a community college to a university college in the next state. My major is psychology. heart I'm interested in counseling. Although, I do have some interest in art as I went to a vocational high school in the visual arts department during high school, but I mostly prefer to decorate clothing, paint t-shirts, etc. I also love thrift store-shopping.
Leesee. I am currently studying witchcraft, getting into the practice of meditation, and I adore natural shampoos and soaps. I love faeries and nature, but I'm especially obsessed with rain and dancing in it. I'm generally a thrifty shopper and I like to save money and energy when I can. I also love certain animes and mangas, but mostly Revolutionary Girl Utena, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Princess Tutu.
Okay, I think that's enough about me. sweatdrop
This sounds like a lovely guild idea, and I look forward to lurking and posting. 3nodding

I'm a 21 college sophmore. If everything went accordingly, I would have graduated in June of 2008....but will most likely be in 2010+ since my major is BS in Dental Hygiene. I have no idea when I'll get in to the program because it's just as competetive as nursing, not to mention there is only one college that offers this major in Oregon. xd Right now I'm in process of getting the AAOT with pre-requisite for above major completed, and I'll probably spend nine month to complete dental assisting program to increase my likelyhood of getting in, and also to get hands on experience and wage higher than typical $8 an hour. I'm member of Weston A. Price Foundation (get raw milk on weekly basis. Check out Sally Fallon's "Nourshing Traditions" for wholesome recepi), and I am interested in holistic dentistry. To be honest, science and math is my weak point so I am struggling(initially I was arts major XD). But I think as long as you pursue your passion, you can make a living, whatever the major is. (Statistics show only 10% job in U.S. require bachelor's degree anyway) Rest is up to passion and experience.
Aside from the academic that consumes majority of my life, my religion is Christianity (authentic one where you don't go off bible-thumping people to repent or go to hell) Every individual is given freedom of choice by God, so no human being has a right to force anyone to change his/her standpoint. But I do love discussing the Bible with anyone who's interested, so I would like to combine this with my major by joining International Medical Team to travel and heal the sick physically and spiritually.
I would love to learn how to knit and crochet! To be honest, I need to improve my manual dexterity or I won't be able to clean people's teeth. xd Nice to meet you all, and I can't wait to have more members to share the wealth of information.

I think I am the only person in the world that LIKES going to the dentist.
I never get cavities so basically it's like...I get to chill out for a while, I get a little goodie bag at the end, and my teeth feel so nice and clean afterwards! I've got my dad's teeth, he's 48 and he only has two fillings, and that was due to some meds he was taking that made his teeth kind of brittle.
What is holistic dentistry, exactly? I mean I gather what it IS, but more like...the specifics involved.
Actually, if you made a thread about that, it'd be cool, because I've definitely never heard of it before. 3nodding

Hey everyone! I'm so happy to be in this guild! It looks so exciting! Anyway, I really like meditating-- I have alot of anxiety often and it really helps. I've just gotten into yoga lately as well, so I'm just a begginner. I'm also trying to change my eating habits to stop eating so many chemicals. This seems to be the most difficult. Ok peace. Talk to you soon, my new guildies.

Hi everybody. I'm 15 and you can call me gwin or Nicole-whatever you prefer. I'm pretty laid back and am really interesting in working with herbs. I'm still unsure of what I'm going to be doing once I graduate and I've been debating it for some time but nothing seems to really fit with me. Meditating makes me dizzy, but I like it and I think that's it. Any questions you have, feel free to ask.
