Greetings members of the Guild. This brief little announcement is to let you all know that this Guild is now operating under not-so-new management. I, the Magic Emperor Ghaleon, have been given ultimate domain over this establishment by my loyal creation, Cyril. The official announcement will be made later on at the Grindery, where the celebration will be held as well. I expect you shall all attend, but be warned. Do not enter the actual Grindery without my permission, or Cyril...who is still among us...will be permitted to have his way with you.

Until then, enjoy this little requiem of peace.

A note for all current and future members. I would appreciate if you could post a picture of your character that you will be using to RP in the Guild with your Registration from now on. I find it is more fun to interact with someone in an RP format when you have a picture of the person you are interacting with, and so, I would like to incorporate that into the Guild.

Thanks

Master Ghaleon.

Attention members of the guild. Please post a registration and fighters index if you have not already done so...This should have been done upon entering the guild. Thank you for your cooperation.

Attention those who will ever be fighting in the arena. Here is a short overview of how we fight here.

1. Each participant gets one turn at a time.
2. Each turn can consist of 4 moves. (a directional move ex. *flys at you*, A small physical attack ex. *swiftly knees you in the stomach*, a Special Attack *blasts a kamehameha in your face*, and finally another directional move or special ability. ex *jumps back across the ring* or *generates his energy shield*
3. Just because you attack someone doesnt mean it automatically lands. Your oppent can use part of thier turn to think of a reason why they had sustained no damage. So when attacking make sure they have no recourse for escape.
4. All special abilities such as flying, Zanzuken, making copies must be made before it can come into affect.
5. The judge or referees desicion is final. The match ends when they say it does. Blatent godmodding will result in a loss of points forst then disqualification. Killing is only allowed if they are able to be revived by you or someone near by.
6. The moves on your fighters index are the only moves allowed in battle.
7. *New Feature* We are adding the Burst Mode ability. Burst Modes happen when a fighter goes for a DIRECT physical attack, and the other one does the same and/or calls a burst mode. This does not apply if say, Cyril instant transmission's behind Sephiroth and backhands him. A Burst mode is when the two fighters presumably go into a super fast, heated battle in which they go blow for blow. The way a burst mode will end is like this: When it is called, both fighter must use the action modes in post options to roll 2 6 sided dice. Whoever gets higher wins the altercation. Now comes the damage percentage. The damage dealt when the Burst Mode is won will be determined by the difference between the loser's number and the winner's. 11-10 points is Severe damage/ 9,8,and 7 are great damage/6,5 are some damage/ 4,3,2 are little damage/ 1 is minimum damage.
8. *New Feature* We are adding the random effects ability. For those of you who have random effect attacks, such as Pale Horse or Pandora's box, you must number the possible effects of the move. When you use the move you will use the random number ability to generate any number in the ammount of possibilities listed. Whatever number shows is the status given.

A land cast into darkness,
a power far too great,
where mortals dare not tread,
our heroes make our fate,
if one unites the stones,
the power to stand is won,
but if the darkness finds them,
the heroes will be done.

The Magic Guild of Gaia, and the Quest of the Magic Empire

Story

Welcome citizens of the Magic Guilds of Gaia, to a world that has been won by the forcess of darkness. The Magic Emperor Ghaleon has succeeded in gathering the power of the Goddess Althena for his own, and has recreated the world as he has seen fit. What once stood as towers in the Magic Empire have been replaced with powerful villages lead by the elite followers of the Magic Emperor.

The majority of the world is directly in the service of the Magic Emperor, and yet, even in this world which he has created, there are a few who yet resist...

There are those who have cast aside the rules and standards set by the Emperor, and refuse to live in the structured reality which he has created for them. Rebels, knights, and demons alike have forsaken their lives in hopes that one day, they might find the key to defeat the Magic Emperor and his servants, and then win the freedom that was taken from them when Ghaleon achieved full-power.

However those who have forsaken him are swiftly met with the full wrath of the Magic Empire, and the number of rebels and villages have dwindled to a handful. The heroes of freedom are hunted, slaughtered, and cast out ruthlessly by the Magic Emperor's servants, who are more than willing to kill in the name of their ruler. Those who fight for true freedom often must hide, run, and fear for their lives, because the moment their guard is down, they know the Magic Emperor will deliver the hammerstroke of doom upon them.

This is the dark reality in which Ghaleon's vision has forced the world to live. And with the power of the Goddess behind him, the Emperor's regime has been clearly without rival on this planet...until now...

A hero of old, one of the forgotten heroes of Lunar who tasted victory against the Magic Emperor...a magician's apprentice named Nash Ausa...discovered a way through which a power that nearly rivals that of the Goddess could be unlocked. However, before he could unlock said power himself, Nash mysteriously disappeared, leaving behind only a rumor and a parchment which he imparted to the leader of a certain group of rebels, the Great White Knight Ryo Akiyama.

The parchment included a poem, and the story of a boy named Alex from a small town called Burg who saved the world from a great evil, long, long ago. It was left in the care of the White Knight in hopes that he would be able to decipher it and one day end the terrible rule of the Emperor. The next day, Nash left the village...it was the last time he was ever seen.

So now it comes down to this...a final quest for the future of the planet. If those who stand against the Magic Emperor cannot find the power of which the hero spoke, the world will remain plunged into darkness for eternity. However, if they can, then the light may yet outshine the dark once more.

The Magic Guild of Gaia, and the Quest of the Magic Empire

Division of the Population

After the action taken by the Magic Emperor against the rebels against his regime and those deemed unworthy of his cause, the Magic Guild was divided into a few groups...the power obviously remaining on the side of the Magic Emperor.

Magic Emperor Ghaleon's Regime

Ghaleon's regime is the group of high-rank warriors that can be found at and around the Grindery, who carry out the direct will of the Magic Emperor. Warriors in this group are usually long-standing members of his regime with a strong, proven battle prowess. These members can often be seen tending to some mission of their master, or en route to causing a good bit of trouble for the rebels. Notable members in this group include the Magic Emperor Ghaleon, his highest generals Master Cyril and Legato Bluesommers, and the Black Wizard Sephiroth.

The Rebels

The rebels are the largest resistance group in the Guild that stands against the Magic Emperor. While good players can find the greatest amount of power and security on their side of the struggle by fitting in with this group, it also undertakes the most fire from the Emperor's Regime. Being so large as they are also the most known resistance group by the Emperor as well. It is suspected that the strength and the future of the world may depend greatly on the success of this rebellion. Notable members of this group include the Great Ryoman, Captain Nightblade, and the missing Nash Ausa.

Mercenaries

A small group of people who have managed to go undecided in the struggle without incident, usually due to their immense skill and ability to get the job done. These players take no sides in the struggle but their own, and often have their own objectives when they take a job. The main objective of this group is to serve as hired warriors or assassins for either side (they will work for either, but may or may not have a preference of side to work for), and are often the best option for getting a fight or job done. The downfall? These guys don't work for free. To hire mercenaries for a job, it will cost either side a collective amount of gold to get them onto the battlefield. Situation factors into the equation often, as well. The harder the mission, the higher the price. Also, the quality of mercenary will vary the price. The better the mercenary, the higher the price. Overall, these are an interesting and useful group of characters...however, as they may discover, sometimes not taking sides can still place you directly in the crossfire...and for a mercenary, there are no allies to fall back on. (There are no current members of this group, and it is currently not taking applicants. If asked about a becoming one of this group you may enter, but if not, it is preferred that you join another group. On the norm, mercenaries are side characters, even perhaps mules. Main characters should stick to the storyline, but extras might fall into this category. Speak with me personally if you have questions.)

Other groups to come.

The Magic Guild of Gaia, and the Quest of the Magic Empire

Items, Key Items, Events

Items

Also known as "Artifacts", Items will be given as prizes for events, tournaments, victories in battles, and for other random events that happen in the storyline. Each time an item is found or won, it can be used by the person who controls it until it is won from them by another person via event or battle. Each artifact holds its own mystical power, some greater than others, some less than others. A list of items that will be available eventually and some of their locations will be revealed later. (Items that are found will only be given with a notice from a moderator, so please do not "pick up an artifact" to use for later, because we will not permit it. Discovery of items is meant to be random and exciting, and thus, will be controlled by us.)

Items List

Ghaleon's Tear: Effect Unknown.
Master Sword: Sword fit for a master.
Pheonix Crest: Crest with the mark of a pheonix (Effect unknown)
Wolven Crest: Crest with the mark of a wolf (Effect unknown)
Hell Ring: Increases magical power two-fold, or reduces magic/energy consumed by 1/2.
Fiend Ring: Drastically increases the power, speed, energy, and magic of the user, but...
Dyne's Sword: The sword of the Dragonmaster Dyne. One of the finest blades in existance.
Alex's Ocarina: An heirloom of a forgotten past. Plays several tunes on its own.
Nash's Comb: Don't leave home without it!
Nash's Treasure: A picture of the lovely Mia Ausa in a moment of recess. Oh, Nash...
Mia's Bromide: Self-explanatory...
Jessica's Bromide: Ditto...
Kyle's b*****d Sword: A sword once used by the guardian of Nanza. Cuts down enemies like your father cut you from his will...
Keys to the Dragonship Destiny: Keys to enter and pilot the Great Dragonship Destiny of Althena's Guard.
Dragon Diamonds: Very valuable jewels straight from the dragon's...err...lair.
Passion Fruit: A fruit that fully restores the life of those who eat it. Tasty, too.

Lucia's Pendant: Mysterious pendant said to have been dropped by the lady on the Blue Star. Pssh...right...
Other...

Key Items

Key items are artifacts or items that are necessary to proceed further in their quest, or to achieve a certain goal in the quest. Each village or travelling group will need to find one of them, or will be competing for the rights to a single artifact. Key items may be given as prizes, or found by careful exploration (Again, we will moderate all finding of key items.). Key items will be revealed as the story progresses, so that when one becomes known, everyone will have to do their best to acquire it before other groups manage to do so. A list of Key Items will be added later.

Current Key Items List

White Dragon Aura
Red Dragon Aura
Blue Dragon Aura
Black Dragon Aura
White Dragon Wings
Red Dragon Shield
Blue Dragon Helmet
Black Dragon Armor
Althena's Sword
Other...

(other possibilities include Tournament Entry Forms, Keys, etc.)

Events

Events take place throughout the storyline, usually offering some key item or important thing to the winners. Tournaments, challenges, or battles will often be the events that take place, with competitors representing every interested party usually invited to attend and take part. Events will be key in attempts to achieve power, so paying attention to notices and being prepared is a must. Some events may be put on by the Magic Emperor, and thus, some rebels may want to be wary of traps there. Likewise, Empire loyalists who attend Rebel events may want to watch their backs, same for neutrals. Types of events will be listed, but for actual event listings, keep your eyes open.

Types of Events (No Particular Order)

Battle Tournaments (Compete in a competition of skill and strength to see who is the supreme warrior in the lands.)
One-on-One Challenges (A grudge match between hated enemies, honorable foes, or simply a scuffle over a precious item.)
Ambush (Beware of the shadows in the trees, you never know when you may be attacked by the creatures of the land...or worse, another warrior.)
Celebrations (Even the Magic Emperor allows his people to celebrate now and then.)
Gambling (A chance to win or lose items without literally risking your neck. That is, unless you can't pay your debt...)
Performances (Chances for villagers to exhibit their skills for the world to see. If you want to sing, read your own poetry, tell a story, etc., go ahead and try your luck at these opportunities.)

The Magic Guild of Gaia, and the Quest of the Magic Empire

Rules and FAQ

Rules

1. No Godmodding. (Stay within the rules of the fighting system, which will remain the same as before.)

2. Literacy is appreciated. ("*action* Words" are allowed, but we need to know what you are doing.)

3. Stick to the storyline. (Adding to your own ADVENTURE storyline is all right, but adding ideas to make your character better than another's is unfair. There will be opportunities to win items that will improve your skills and power, take advantage of them.)

4. Everyone must be active. (No member may ignore the happenings around them. If you're attacked, you cannot simply ignore it and continue like it never happened. Battle or attempted escape are the only options, and continued attempts at escape will only lead to continued attacks.)

5. Killing is allowed, as is reviving. (However, there are limited Angel Tear's, so unless you have revival magic, preserve yours and your friends' lives.)

6. Incoming characters start with an assumed player and power level that is basic. (Only through work, improvements in performance, or a storyline boost can one gain strength.)

7. Each group will have to come up with and execute several plans and ideas in an attempt to defeat the other. Higher participation and input can lead to greater success. The more active everyone is in their group, the better.

8. Battles will be conducted as they were before, but instead of certain arenas, challenges can be made anywhere. (Battles may destroy landscape, buildings, etc., so it is best to be safe when battles are nearby.)

9. Members may only be in ONE PLACE AT A TIME. (If you wish to go to another forum you MUST post an exit! Remember that there may be a time delay depending on how far you are going.)

10. Psychic Abilities are limited. (No reading the minds or thoughts of a group from another area simply because you can go read their posts. Only if someone is in a nearby place, and has little mental capability can you read their mind.)

11. Items/artifacts can only be found, won, and/or used with Moderator permission or victory in battle. (Saying you found a materia, per chance, that is stronger than Ultima to give you an edge is forbidden. However, if a moderator posts nearby about a "glowing orb with a powerful aura" near a character, take heed and grab it!)

12. All beginning weapons are assumed to be weaker than any that may be found later on in the RP. (To improve weapons, armor, and such, you must find them, or items that may enhance them. Training your weapons and improving them is allowed, as well as finding new ones, with Mod permission.)

13. Key Items must be used to unlock certain effects. (For example, no one may captain the Dragonship Destiny without the Keys. Likewise, no one may use the power of the Black Dragon without the Black Dragon Aura. Also, if there is a seal on a pathway or area that requires a certain item, you MUST FIND THAT ITEM OR YOU CANNOT GET THERE!!! No special teleportation or such allowed in those instances. Ghaleon's magic is stronger than yours. It's a fact of life.)

14. There is no place for complaining in this RP. (If you don't like how something turned out, don't go on a rant about how it was unfair and you're not going to listen to it. A mod or someone will post shortly after if there is any controversy with a post that clearly states what happened, and both parties are to act accordingly. Questions may be asked in PM form only!)

15. Defections from one group to another may take place, but only if the other group will accept them. Groups have the right to reject members, but they also must remember that it might not be a bad idea to increase members.

16. Trading of items is allowed, but keep in mind that certain items may be important to the storyline. Keeping those around would be preferable. (Stealing of listed items is NOT permitted unless given expressed consent by the Moderators. Complaints about theft should be done in PM FORM. Mostly though, items should be won in challenges.)

17. Items may be used at any time, including battle. (Key Items, however, may only be used when applicable. And remember that some items may have no use if you use them in the wrong situation.)

18. Items found will usually come with a short description. (Any questions about the item will either have to be discovered, or answered briefly in PM form.)

19. Weapons and armor found may come with a short description, and questions about this should also be directed towards PM's.

20. Skills will be the same as listed in your Profiles and Fighter Index's. They will be one of the few carry overs from the current Guild. All new members will be required to place a profile and Fighter Index in the Grindery.
More to come...
