They have two albums. One for song-lovers and one for album-lovers. If you're the former, Souvlaki. The latter? Pygmalion. Brian Eno reluctantly did guest keyboards on Souvlaki because he's a stuck-up b*****d.

I put Souvlaki over Pygmalion. I just love the album. Alison and Machine Gun are two of my favorite songs to ever exist.

You got to admit that it doesn't have as much as central theme as Pygmalion, but the individual songs are just generally better-arranged. Pygmalion just sounds like a more melodic Codeine much of the time.

Slowdive's always been a little too mellow for me, but I love the cover of Some Velvet Morning on Souvlaki.

If Souvlaki's too mellow for you, Lovesliescrushing, Medicine, and Bowery Electric are not things you would enjoy.
We owe just as much to ambient as post-punk for giving us shoegaze.

On a completely irrelevant note, I would totally have sex with Angel.
I consider myself 95% straight. I justify this by being very picky.
