Well, its my second day...I have to wonder why everyone keeps asking me how old I am? It's rude to ask a lady her age! The Ms. in my title should tell people that I'm an adult but I'm not ancient or anything...maybe just a little older than the average Gaia user (I'm somewhere in my 20's and thats all I'll say).

I've never really done this type of thing before. I've never really bothered with the instant messaging, or role playing, or anything until just this year. A friend of mine introduced me to this site and it was just so reminiscent of the dot hack anime series (which I enjoyed) that I thought what the heck and here I am.

I'm finding navigating around Gaia fairly interesting so far. I am currently in pursuit of gold since I met someone on my first day (yesterday) who told me my avatar was so old and practically screamed newbie. My, but outfits (good ones) are expensive!! The character in question was very nice about it and even anonymously sent me a gift of a Heart Shaped Box of Sweets. I have in fact updated my avatar a little...I'll probably change her clothes as often as I can (it has always been a bit of a pet peeve of mine that anime character almost never change clothes...is there no personal hygiene in the anime universe?! eek )

On the bright side I have managed to make three new friends since my first day (one of which introduced me to the site) and its certainly been an experience. People (when I have run into them) generally seem to be very welcoming. I'm enjoying the forum (although you see a lot of irritating view points) and I generally don't have any problems expressing my opinion (when warranted) in written format. (I'm not much of a public speaker...I stutter...and stumble...and make a fool of myself redface ... but give me a keyboard or a pen(cil) and I'll get you and your little dog too! twisted )

One thing I was curious about was the Gaia houses? What are they really for? What is their function? I have to admit I like my little house and did indeed spend my gold doing some modifying on it before I even thought of changing my avatar. It was just so dingy!! confused I bought some cheap blue wallpaper for the ugly walls and then I just had to change the floor to a cherry wood floor tile. Then I had to get something to put the plant on because it looked silly on the fridge or floor (the table was occupied by the lamp) so I purchase some makeshift shelving. I just recently bought another chair (it doesn't match my original though stressed ), another table (same problem with matching though) and a clock (I really am obsessed with time I've got lots of clocks in real life lol ). Am I doing all this in vain? Will no one see the effort I have put in to this house (and will most likely continue to)? Say it ain't so crying xp ?!!

Another thing why did I have to spend 500 gold on a license to trade with other users?! Shouldn't the trade be free!!? crying And I still haven't even heard how much this vending license is going to cost me...probably give me heart failure burning_eyes . Well a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do and I suppose I'll get that stupid license if its the last thing I do...and I'll make a really cool avatar (eventually) and have a real show place house (just in case)!! dramallama

Well enough for tonight, I may write more tomorrow in my quest for gold, oufits, and furniture...

By the way feel free to leave any legitimate advice about Gaia or this type of thing in general...this is a learning experience for me afterall...
