Wishes

this world has gone astray
we try to keep up
but nothing helps
although we think we are in control
it'll all fall apart very soon
sometimes people wish
not aware of the consequences
but others keep their mouths shut and play along
i used wish things too
but now i see that wishes arn't quarters and have nothing to bring
they cant feed you.they cant really understand you
but friends can
true friends see the real you
true friends understand you
true friends will take you in in your time of need
alas, they are not made to be used
if you lose your friends whose there to stop you from betraying others?
whose there to stand up for you and shelter you?
whose there to make you live and not commit suicide?
who will be your counselor?
who will be your mentor?
these questions cannot be answered without going through this
its something only experience tells
but the answer is
NO ONE
