Quiet And Confident
Chapter One.
Today was the day. I had my tickets set on my dresser next to the clothes I was to wear. I woke up that morning with a smile smeared across my face. I sat up and stretched, then yawned. I looked at the clock. Everything was going to be perfect. The concert was at 1:00 PM and it was only 12:00– Wait. My alarm was supposed to be set... for.. 8:00...
“I’M GOING TO BE SO LATE FOR THE CONCERT ” I screamed, jumping out of bed and pulling on my set outfit. I was having MAJOR difficulties getting my sneakers on, I grabbed the tickets and brushed my teeth, spit out the toothpaste, grabbed my soap, washed my face, splashed water at myself to rinse, nearly ruined the tickets, brushed my hair, looked in the mirror. “All set.”
I ran downstairs and got my cell phone from the kitchen table. I called my bestfriend whom was supposed to call me at 9... She probably overslept, too.
Oh, you’re probably wondering what concert I’m going to with my bestie. It just happens to be The Academy Is... Hip Hip Hoorayyy.
Anyways.
I called her. Oh, who? None other than my only friend that likes The Academy Is...... AMANDA
“Ay, Amanda ” I said cheesily, “You awake?”
“Yes I’m rushing out the door ” She exclaimed.
“I have your ticket here.” I said. “Pick me up at my house?”
“Sure.” She said in a forced calm voice.
We hung up and I sat at my kitchen table. I shivered at the thought of meeting William Beckett. Yes, oh so very cliched to love William, but I did. Amanda soon was honking outside my apartment. I ran out my door and down the stairs. Out the door and I jumped into the car. Literally jumped.
“DRIVE DRIVE ” I shouted, pointing.
“I’m driving ” She started driving to the concert. Finally. It was 12:15. (Yes, I get ready fast when I have to.) We had a forty five minutes to get there. There was no traffic at all so we actually had time to spare. There was a BurgerKing on the way, so we stopped to get something to eat. (Since neither of us ate breakfast.) We pulled into the parking lot and parked.
“Wait, we’re going in? Why don’t we just go to the drive through?” I asked.
“Well we’re already out of the car.” Amanda shrugged.
“I’ve always wanted to order from the drive through without a car.” I smiled, walking towards the drive through window.
“You’re such an idiot, ya know that?” Amanda sighed, following me.
“Thank you ” I said.
“Go faster, there’s a big bus thing behind us.” Amanda pushed me. I stopped at the window.
“Ummm I’ll have.... the.... Hmm....” I mumbled while looking at the menu.
“JUST GET A CHEESEBURGER.” Amanda exclaimed in a whisper.
“But I don’t know if I want that.” I sighed, “How about...”
“Come on already ” The people behind us exclaimed through their window.
“WAIT.” I screamed. “I KNOW THAT VOICE.” I turned around and looked in the window. I blinked, then fell backwards.
That’s all I remember.
Chapter Two.
Next thing I knew, I woke up in a room crowded with people. There was loud music. Very loud music. I was sitting in a chair. The rest of the people were dancing and jumping and screaming. There was a cheeseburger on a small table next to me. I picked it up and started eating it. BurgerKing. Mmm. I looked around. I forget what I was doing... or who I was with...
Refresh my memory, please.
Oh right. Amanda. What were we doing again...?
Oh yeah We were going to a concert But then... I saw something... what happened...?
I looked over at the stage. I saw Amanda practically on stage. That’s how close she was. Eww There’s onions on this burger...
“AY, AMANDA ” I screamed as loud as I could, hoping she’d hear me.
Lucky me, she did. She glanced at me, I waved. She pointed at the stage. I then remembered what happened. I think I fainted again for a second, because William Beckett was looking at me. Our eyes met as he sang. I think I just died and came back to life.
“Come over here ” Amanda called to me.
“Whaaaaaaaat? ” I exclaimed back. No seriously, I didn’t know what she said.
“Come hereeeee ” She yelled.
“WHAT?” I asked.
“COME HERE.” William said into the mic.
I was silent and most of the crowd looked at me. The song was paused for a moment, then they continued. I stood up and bit my burger again. I walked through the crowd over to Amanda.
“Whats going on?” I asked.
“William is such a sweetheart ” Amanda smiled. “When you fainted, he came out and helped.”
“William... Beckett?” I laughed sheepishly.
“Yes. Look ” Amanda pointed up. William was literally RIGHT there. William FREAKIN’ Beckett.
They were performing Neighbors. My favorite song.
William looked at us again. The song was over and they were taking a quick break. Chizzy was talking and talking but no one could understand him so no one was paying attention.
“Stay after the show.” William said to us.
“Whaaaat? ” My eyes got big.
“Thanks, Bill ” Amanda smiled at him.
“Are you guys like best friends now or something?” I joked.
“Nah, but he likes us.” She smiled.
“Well this is awesome.” I smiled back.
The show went on for a while longer. As they played their last song, people started leaving. Me and Amanda stayed put. I was grinning so much. I think my smile was about to tear my face.
So, the place was empty. Some security guards came over to us and told us to leave. The band was putting away their equipment and stuff.
“No, they can stay.” William said. The guards walked away. Then William looked at me. I melted when he smiled at me.
“You okay?” He asked me.
“What?” I raised an eyebrow.
“Haha You’re all flushed.” Amanda teased.
“N-no I’m not.” I covered my face with my hands.
“So where are you guys from?” William asked.
“Here.” I sighed. “We live only like 20 minutes away.”
“Come on stage.” William offered his hand to help us up. I took it and he pulled me up.
“Dood, you make me feel so short.” I looked up.
He chuckled, then helped Amanda up. He was even taller than Amanda, and Amanda is tall.
“You make me feel fat, too.” I looked at him. “You’re like a toothpick.”
“I’m not THAT skinny.” He shrugged.
“Yes you are ” Amanda and I said in unison.
“Okay okay.” He sighed.
“Hey, who are these two?” Sisky asked.
“SISKY ” I screamed, then tackle-glomped him.
“MELISSA I THOUGHT WE AGREED THAT WILLIAM WAS YOURS AND I GOT SISKY ” Amanda pulled me off him.
“Agreed?” William raised an eyebrow.
“NOTHING ” We both shouted.
We chilled while the band finished cleaning up. I offered to help, but when I did, I dropped Chizzy’s guitar, so they yelled at me.
