This story, at the moment, is untitled. It is also, at the moment, just being put into words. So, please. Bear with me.
It all began with death.
In one instant, a mother's heart was shattered. And in her pain, life was created. And this is what started it all....
The baby was perfect. Looking down at her child, asleep in his crib, she smiled. Just as she turned to leave, he awoke. Cooing at her, he waved his fists at her, as if he was calling her back. She laughed and waved her hand, causing a shower of stars to flash overhead. Her son laughed, and she was happy.
She was Gaia. A woman who would later be called Mother Earth. For now, she was just a mother. A goddess of terrible power, she had eyes for her son, alone. The boy had no father, she had no mate.
She had, in truth, found the child. Not stolen, but found. Abandoned, the child had been left to die. And not knowing his destiny had already been chosen, Gaia had interfeared. She had saved him.
"Still spoiling the child with showers of your power, Sister dear?" A male voice interrupted her thoughts. "Leave the boy and come join us."
The voice was thick with scorn. Gaia's eyes narrowed. "Jealous, Mars? Jealous that I might pay more attention to a male child than I would to my own 'brother'?" Ignoring him, she turned back to her son.
Mars grew angry. "Don't you turn from me, Gaia." He walked towards her, when she whirled around.
"Don't come any nearer to me or my son, Mars." Her hands clenched into fists and anger flew off of her in waves. "You do not scare me, and your petty jealousy only angers me." Turning back to her son, she said over her shoulder, "Leave me alone." She paused for a moment, then continued. "In fact, why don't you just leave."
Dismissed, Mars muttered under his breath. "Watch who you scorn, sister. Not even you can be on guard forever. Eventually, you will have a weakness. And there are those that will use that weakness against you."
With that said, Mars stalked out. Gaia let out a worried breath and ran her hand over her son's head, singing him to sleep.
A knock alerted Gaia to another visiter. "What now?" A hesitant voice answered. "Mother Gaia, Master Jupiter has called a meeting. You are needed."
Gaia smiled. "Luna, child. There you are. I had wondered where you went." Luna smiled softly and curtsied. "I was helping Lady Uranis locate HER helpers. I got tied up. I'm sorry."
Gaia chucked. "Worry not. Now, I need to go to that meeting. Stay with my son, and guard him well. I will return." With a smile to Luna, and a kiss on her son's head, Gaia strode out.
Luna walked over and looked at the son of Gaia. She had a sad smile on her face. She ran a hand over his soft hair and wasn't surprised when he turned from her.
He knew her for what she was.
She wasn't Luna. She was fate.
She was his death.

As the meeting was at its halfway mark, Gaia's head came up sharply. She gasped, as if in pain, and stood up so fast that her chair tipped over. So sudden was her action that the others around her were stunned.
With no words in explination, Gaia took off running. She cried out. "Star! Come!" A horse's whinny was heard in response. Reaching out, she wrapped her hand in his mane and swung upon his back. "Hurry, Star. Home!"
Star leaped into the sky, unfolding his wings. As if sensing his mistress's fear, he flew hard and fast.
When he neared, she slid off his back. Running, she held out a hand and her front door blew open. Up the stairs and down the hall, she ran as fast as she could.
Stopping short, she put her hand on her son's nursery door and held her breath. Placing a hand on the door, she waited a moment, then slowly pushed it open.
And screamed.
"NO!!!!!! No, no. Oh, please, no. Not my son. Please, not my baby son..." Walking over, she picked up the crib from where it lay on its side, and uncovered the broken body of her son. Nearby lay a woman. No longer appearing as Luna, this woman was an old woman. She was just as broken as the baby. Letting out a weak laugh, she pointed at Gaia.
"Stupid Goddess. Believing the word of a simple girl." Gaia knelt at her side. "Who are you?" The old woman laughed. "It doesn't matter who I am." Gaia's face went white. "Who sent you?" The woman laughed again. "Stupid goddess! Asking me questions to which you already know the answers? Your son was your weakness. In your pride, you forgot that the worst enemies are often the ones you see every day."
As she drew her last breath, the woman laughed again. "Mars sent me to kill your son. Your son, in turn killed me. But my death will be worth it, if it brings down Mother Gaia. Stupid....."
With that, the old woman died.
