For days, Gaia wandered her house, from room to room. Not caring where she tred, eyes blind, ears deaf, heart broken. She wasn't crying. Not yet, at least. It was still too sudden. Still too new.
Not realizing it, she ended up in a top tower room, overlooking the stars. She sank down onto a window seat and just stared blankly at the stars and minor planets around her. How long she remained there, she didn't know, nor did she care.
"Mother Gaia?" Gaia's head snapped around. There, in the doorway, stood the real Luna. She had been found in the corner of her son's room, knocked out and tied up. "Yes, Luna?" Luna smiled gently. "I've got some things I need to go pick up. Is it ok if I leave long enough to go take care of them? Or do you want me to stay with you?"
Gaia smiled sadly. "Go, Luna. Take care of what you need to. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine." Luna came forward and gave Gaia a hug. "Ok. I'll be back as soon as I can."
Luna turned and was walking out of the room when Gaia's voice stopped her. "Luna, I don't want you going alone." Luna turned slightly to look at Gaia. "But Mother G-" Gaia cut her off. "I know you've gone alone plenty of times before, but humor me. Take Star."
Gaia's voice held no chance of an agrument. Sighing silently, Luna nodded. "Ok. I'll go get Star."

Star laughed when he saw Luna coming towards her. "Ah! Let me guess. You have somewhere to go, and Gaia made you take me along." When Luna made a face at him, he snorted, trying not to laugh.
"Don't laugh at me, idiot. I'm going to see Solarius." Star's jaw snapped shut. "Solarius? But... I thought only the higher dieties were allowed in his presence now." Luna nodded. "Normally, that's what happens. But I'm special. I cleared it with his attendant right after the incident..."
Star looked confused for a moment. "Incident? What incide-" His voice trailed off. "Oh yeah. That incident. And Solarius agreed?" Luna nodded again. "Yes. He agreed. And my appointment is soon, so we need to go." With that, she grabbed his mane and swung up on his back. He opened his wings and kicked into the air, heading towards the Golden Palace, where Solarius resides. A thought struck Star suddenly, and he snorted in laughter. "Luna? When Mistriss Gaia made you take me with you, why didn't you remind her that-"
He ducked his head when she moved suddenly to flick his ear. "Hush, Star! Sheesh. Talk louder, why don't you?" Star laughed. "Oh dear. You must have a lot of things on your mind. You seem to have forgotten that you are the only one that can understand me? Everyone else hears my words as whinnies or neighs." He snorts.
Luna's chin lifted and she crossed her arms across her chest. "I didn't want to. It was easier to make YOU do all the work." Star laughed and shook his head. "Ok, Luna." He was about to say more, when the Palace came into sight. "There it is. Lets go."

"State your business, please." Pluto stood before them, blocking the front gate to the Palace. He was the attendant to Solarius. "I am the goddess Gaia's attendant. This is her steed. We are here to see Solarius." Pluto looked both of them over, then nodded. "You have an appointment?" Luna raised an eyebrow. "Pluto, would I be standing here if I didn't?"
A ghost of a smile showed on Pluto's face. "No. Ok. I'll tell Solarius you are here. Wait, please." With that, Pluto turned and left. Star was impressed. "Wow. 'Stuffy Plu' has a sense of humor? Never would have guessed that!" Luna shot a glare at him. "Shut up, will ya!"
"Well, well. Look who's here. My darling sister's second rate attendant and her four-footed feather brain." The male voice was thick with mockery and disgust. "And you're here to see Solarius? That's a laugh. Solarius only sees those who are worth his time. Since you've been told to wait outside, you obviously aren't worth his time. They just won't tell you that." Coming down the steps of the palace, Mars walked up to Luna, a cruel smirk on his face. "I, on the other hand, don't have a problem telling you."
Brushing past her and Star, he paused for a moment. "You know, I'm surprised Pluto even talked to you. You are a pathetic excuse for a demi-goddess. Almost as usless as the goddess you serve." He let out a laugh. "Gaia, goddess of the Earth. Thats what they're calling her, you know. Earth! A barren wastland, with no life. No worth. It's a rock. Worthless." He snickered. "Let her have it, I'd say. Worthless rock for a worthless goddess."
Mars made a mistake, though he didn't know it. When he started insulting Gaia, he had his back to Luna, deliberetly. He knew he was making Luna angry, but he didn't care. What he didn't know was that Luna's anger, when aroused, took over, and she changed. Silently, as he continued to talk, she became a dragon. A very pissed off, very beautiful dragon.
"Sssstupid. Very ssstupid of you, Marsss." She hissed at him, smiling. When he turned around, she drew up to her full height. A silver dragon, with wings that glittered like crystals, ice blue eyes and long talons. Mars's jaw dropped. She was in the process of shifting closer to strike when a voice spoke out forcefully.
"Stop this nonsense!" Recognizing that voice, Luna stopped dead in her tracks. Backing off, she curled up and lay her head on the ground near where Solarius was standing, his arms crossed across his chest.
"You are Luna?" He asked, looking at the dragon. She blinked and raised her head enough to nod. He then looked at the pegasus. "And Star, you are from Gaia, as well?" Star nodded slightly, frozen in place. Solarius almost smiled. Almost. He turned his attention to Mars, who also stood frozen in place. But he didn't look happy.
"Mars. What a surprise." Mars bowed. "My Lord. I was just leaving." Solarius raised an eyebrow. "Oh really. Leaving, were you? Was that before or after you goaded Luna into biting you?" Mars's mouth dropped open. "Goaded, my Lord? She was going to attack me! You saw it!"
This time both of Solarius's eyebrows shot up. "She attacked you, did she? Pluto? Is that what you saw?" Pluto, standing to Solarius's right, shook his head. "No, High Lord. She did not attack him."
Solarius nodded once. "That is what I thought. I too, saw no such attack. Would you care to try again, Mars? Or should I tell you what happened?"
Mars went white in the face, then looked down at his feet. "I started it, my Lord." Solarius grew irritated. "Leave, Mars. And do not come back into my sight. I will let you know when I want to see you."
With that, he turned to Luna. By that time, Luna was back to her normal form. "Now, Luna. I hear you came to see me. Shall we go in, and you can tell me why you need my audience." Mentioning for Luna and Star to follow him, he walked back into his Palace.
Mars stood there, nearly red from anger. They would pay. No one embarrassed him before High Lord Solarius and got away with it. Turning on one heel, he yelled for his steed.
Pluto smirked. He never liked Mars anyway. Turning away, he went inside and closed and locked the doors behind him.
