the day brakes
as the shutter shakes
due to my lack of you
even the earth knows when i'm not with you
i lay awake in my bed
i can't feel much due to the evening's bloodshed
so why must we suffer
my legs begin to shutter
just the thought of you has healed a bleeding heart
but your work is undone when we depart
the scars are healed when we're arm in arm
but when you aren't here i see their harm
they seem to tell a story, it's inscribed in the scar tissue
they tell of a clouded time, before you
