I actually finally got my Macabre and Core CDs and my 5 Ugly Kingdom DVD the day after my last post! xD I was procrastinating though and didn't write another post. ;; Sorryyy.
My Macabre (Dir en grey) CD is AWESOME. There are a few songs on it that I've never heard, and at first I didn't like them as much... xD Like egniryS cimredopyH +) An Injection. I didn't really like it at first, but now it's always stuck in my head. xD I'm trying to memorize the lyrics, but it's hard... Kyo sings so fast in some parts. Anyway... Deity is a really cool opening song. I think Kyo's singing in Russian...? The lyrics to it in the booklet look like Russian, so I assume that's what he's singing in. I love how the beginning of the song is just very... Arabic ... and then after about a minute and a half the guitars come in, and then towards the end of the song Kyo starts singing. ^^ And chanting. It's cool. The next song, Myaku, has always been one of my favorites... the version on the CD is different from the one I've heard, though. xD; It doesn't have the really cool intro (or the outro) and just starts right away with the guitars. I've pretty much memorized the lyrics to the song except for the SUPER fast monologue part. o__o Seriously, Kyo says it scarily fast. I can't keep up. The next song is Wake. ^^ Before I got the CD, I hadn't heard it for a long time. I had forgotten about it. D: It's a really good song. I love Toshiya's bass at the beginning. ^^ It has really nice lyrics, too. "more than this more than this I don't want to be hurt but only now, it's only you that I wanted to love" The next song is egniryS cimredopyH <3 ( I'm really stupid and I keep trying to type the name backwards without looking at the words forwards first so I know which letters to put. xD So it takes me a few minutes to finalyl write it correctly. But it's fun that way. ) I already talked about the song, so... Toshiya did a good job writing the song. xD I don't understand a lot of Kyo's lyrics though. I love how at the end it's like, another part of himself that is virtuous, but "little by little by little by little" (I love the way he sings it, "dan dan dan dan DAN DAN DAN DAN!" ) he gets tired of his virtuous side and "hangs it". "I've got 4 screws loose in my head" Isn't that romantic ? Is my favorite line in the song. The next song is... uh.... Hydra. ^^ Ahh, Hydra. xD I love it. It reminds me of Child Prey in the Vulgar album, how it's the albums really crazy song. It's really cool how when it gets really intense, it suddenly stops and you hear this echoing chanting... I love that part. It makes me think of a really dark, abandoned and crumbling stone temple in the middle of the desert. Next is Hotarubi. That song is... amazingly beautiful. It's just amazing. I love the violin in it. And the lyrics are just gorgeous. "become the wind, the divine wind bloom in the evening of our reunion firefly's light and the flower of the lily " Shinya's drumming is really good in this song. And every other song too. xD Shinya's my favorite drummer. He's just amazing. Next is... eh... what song comes next? o_x I have to check the discography. xD Okay, next is [KR] cube. I love that song. It's so different from most of Diru's songs. The chorus always gets stuck in my head. The dual guitar in this song is really cool. xD Like, when Die and Kaoru keep switching off parts around the middle of the song before Kyo starts singing "Mother and you and my new relation". Now I'm cheating and I'm just looking at the discography for every song. xD The next one is Berry. The first time I heard that song, last summer when I first discovered Dir en grey, I did NOT like it. So I never listened to it after that. xD So now is the first time I've heard it for many months. I like it more now. That little girl at the beginning is creepy. xD It's interesting how the song sounds really upbeat and catchy, but the lyrics are... not. The part in the middle where you hear the dad screaming "Shut up! Shut up! I'm trying to work! Shut up!" and the little girl is crying and then the mom starts yelling too.... that part is creepy. It's a REALLY good song though. "Daddy, mommy, saaad..." After that is Macabre!! One of my favorite Dir en grey songs ever. And I think it's the only song that's had an album named after it. I can't even describe it there. Almost eleven minutes of perfection. Every instrument in this song is AMAZING. I think Shinya's drumming is the best part. Whenever I try to find the rhythm of the drums I keep losing it, because it changes so much! I can't imagine how he does it. Toshiya's bass is perfect too. And Die and Kaoru's guitars are so good. And Kyo's singing... <3 I love how the song is mostly based on the instruments. It's really, really good. If you haven't heard it, listen to it. It isn't one of those boring long songs. xD Next is Audrey. I think... Audrey would be better if it didn't come RIGHT after Macabre. It would be better if they put a different song after it. Maybe if they switched Hotarubi and Audrey's places in the album. Anyway, I think Audrey is my least favorite song on the album, partly because of the placing. It's just hard for me to get into it. Maybe if I listen to it a bit more, I'll like it better... xD Next is Rasetsukoku. It reminds me a lot of "R to the Core" on the Vulgar album, because it's the shortest song on the album yet it's just insane. It comes, blows you away, and before you know it, it's over. xD The song that comes after is Zakuro. Zakuro is THE Dir en grey "sad song". Everyone knows it as such. It's beautiful. "Time is too long, time is too painful...I am breaking losing you I love you. " It's very slow and beautiful. While I still love "new" Dir en grey, I wish they would do some songs similar to this still. The guitar in it is amazing. I LOVE the part near the beginning where Kyo says "Aaahh..." really softly and high pitched. I think that one small part is my favorite in the whole song. The last song ( D: ) on the album is Taiyou no Ao. Another slow song. It's really pretty. ^^ I haven't heard it much, so I can't say a lot about it. D: It is a sad song though. It's a good song to end the album with. I love the chorus, how it suddenly speeds up, yet Kyo's voice is still mournful. Apparently the song is about a girl he loved who left him for his own friend, but I don't know how reliable the information is.
I keep listening to the Macabre album over and over. <3 It's just so good. The only other Dir en grey album I have besides it is Vulgar.
I also got the Core album by Kagrra,. ^^ I made sure to not listen to ANY of the songs before I got it because I wanted it to be completely new. It's the first time I've ever gotten an album without hearing a single one of the songs. Because I've only heard the songs two or three times, I can't say a lot about them... D: And the only song title I've memorized is Irodori no Sanka, which is my favorite song on the album, and the first track. Wait.... no, I THINK I remember the second song! xD The second song is... Ujyou, I think? It's a really catchy song. It's hard for me to review the album because I've been listening to it while I go to sleep, so I've really only heard the first 7 or 8 songs. xD I always have fallen asleep by the end. Kagrra, is so calming. They're one of my favorite bands. ^^
( I have Zakuro in my head now. o_O )
I also got. The Rettou Gekishin Angya Final 2003 5 Ugly Kingdom DVD by Dir en grey. -dies- -dies again- IT WAS AMAZING!!! And completely worth the price. At CDJapan it's only around $55. heart I don't even know if I can talk about it... it's just.... oh... wow. Ain't Afraid to Die was the most beautiful performance EVER. When the flower petals started drifting down I started to cry. Umbrella was such an awesome performance. Kyo looked so happy during Jessica! xD And [KR]cube is the performance that I saw on Youtube and made me buy the DVD cause I loved it so much. I can't even talk about this... it was so amazing. If I had been at the concert, I would've DIED. I love the beginning where they all walk out one by one... it's cute when Shinya stands on the platform and turns in a circle. xD At the end of -mushi-, where Kyo was stabbing himself with the microphone, and you could hear it echo... it was beautiful. Somehow, it was beautiful. You could feel his pain... the same with Bottom of Death Valley, where he scratched his chest. I'm just glad that during this DVD there was barely any mutilation. >< I don't like it when he does it a lot. It's so awesome too, because my parents made this room in our basement with a projector screen and really nice surround sound and comfy chairs and... xD It's so cool to watch the DVD in there! The only problem is, the sound in that room travels really easily, so if you're upstairs you can hear it, so I didn't want to turn it that loud. DD; One day when I'm home alone for two hours, I'll turn it really loud and watch it. biggrin I can't wait. xD I love watching the extra videos of them just being cute. ^^ It's kind of annoying though when they show their other concerts and show like five seconds of a song, and five seconds of another, and eight seconds of another, and two seconds of another... the sound and images jump around and... yeah.
I have to go now, so I can't keep talking about the DVD. xD But it's AMAZING. I highly recommend it. And it's worth buying instead of downloading, because it's nice seeing it on a big screen. xD But if you have no money, it's kind of hard to buy... I understand, I do the same for a lot of things. xD -broke-
