Soo, I just came back from the Ayabie concert at Baltimore!
My godmother took my girlfriend and I to see them. ^^ It was really, really awesome! I've never been to a concert before, let alone a Jrock concert, so yeah. We waited in line outside the building for a while. Even though there were people behind us, somehow when we were inside we were behind almost everyone. I guess a lot of the people who had been in line behind us went up to the balconies? While in line, my girlfriend told the person behind us that she was cool. xD She was cool, even if we only talked for about two minutes. It was actually a really small place, but that made it a lot more intimate than if it had been a huge place. And somehow, though there were probably not much more than 60 people there, it was REALLY loud. People were cheering a lot, it was great. I don't remember most of the songs they played, but I know they played Cubic' [L/R]ock, which I was really happy about~ They also played Hinata, which is awesome because just a few hours ago I had been singing along to it at home with lyrics. x3 Unfortunately I couldn't remember most of the song, but I sang a few parts. AND during the encore they played Kimi no Koe to Yakusoku, which is one of my favorite songs by them. I almost started crying. xD; At first, I could not recognize Yumehito, because he looked so DIFFERENT! He had short, brown hair! And Intetsu had long blond hair, so for a moment I thought he was Yumehito. I loved Intetsu's outfit, too. X3 My girlfriend and I were pretty much right in front of Yumehito, so he and Aoi were really the only ones we could see easily. I could barely see Kenzo at ALL because one of his cymbals was completely blocking his face. I've always liked him as a drummer, but somehow tonight I realized that he was really, REALLY good! I couldn't see Takehito and Intetsu that well, but whenever I looked at Intetsu, he looked like he was just concentrating mostly on playing his bass. During the encore though, he was grinning like crazy! It was cute! Takehito was really good~ I could barely see him, which kind of sucks. So since Yumehito was the easiest to see, I looked at him mostly. He kept smiling and interacting with the crowd. X3 I'm pretty sure he looked at me at least twice. He kept grinning when he saw us or people in our area doing the hand gestures (I can't remember what they're called >< ). It was so much fun copying Aoi's hand gestures. X33 During most of the sad songs, people were still grinning and screaming, even though the band members looked really sad. So during one song I was really thinking about it and I guess I had a serious expression on my face, and Aoi made eye contact with me for about two seconds and his expression was really... wow. I noticed his eyes are really black. A while into the concert there was this really metal song where Intetsu started headbanging. xD And another song... I can't remember what most of them were called... Aoi was acting like his mic cord was a noose, and made a slicing motion across his throat with his finger. I wish I knew what the name of that song was, it was really good. And at the end, before they all left for the encore, they all reached out to touch everyone's hands. I was just a FEW centimeters away from touching Intetsu, Yumehito, and Aoi! Oh well. xD And I THINK at the beginning of the encore, Aoi handed a beer bottle he had drank from to someone at the front?! It might have been juice, but it looked like a beer bottle. Then... for some reason, after the concert, when we went to buy tour merch, there weren't any CDs! I really wanted to buy one, since I don't own any Ayabie CDs yet. So... I bought a T-shirt instead. I wanted a poster too, but I only brought a small amount of money, and some of it had to be used for dinner. I took out $20 from my Otakon funds, since I'm broke otherwise, and my mom gave me $13 for food. I spent $25 on a shirt though. xD The guy who was selling the merch was cool. I really wanted to stay to get signatures and tell all of Ayabie "arigatou gozaimasu!", but my godmother didn't want to stay. x_x So we went to eat dinner instead, and we put on our Ayabie shirts. When we finished eating a bunch of other people wearing Ayabie shirts came into the same restaurant. It was cool. xD And walking back to the car we saw people wearing them. I never meet other people who like Jrock, so it was nice seeing all these people who did. It was so much fun, but now that it's over... I dunno. It's weird... there was a real connection between the band and the crowd, and it's weird thinking that there's a good chance that I'll never see them again. I really hope they come back so that I can. ><
I'm.... not sure if any of this made much sense, since I'm completely exhausted and rather dehydrated. But with the concert and my girlfriend sleeping over, it's been a fun day. xDD
