3rd Fall: Adaptation

“ Why are you crying, Maya?” Riku asked. “It’s just that.. you don’t need to raise your voice like that..*sniff* I don’t like people shouting..” Maya said then bursted to tears. “Oh.. I should be the sorry one.. Sorry Maya…I just got carried away.. Sorry Maya..” Riku said then hugged Maya. “Yes it worked! I knew this guy’s heart’s the softest thing…” Maya thought. “Okay Riku.. I forgive you.. but please don’t do it again..” Maya said. “From this day on, I’ll guard Maya Nightingale from any danger even of it costs my life!” Riku declared to everyone there. “Then it’s agreed. When will you wed my beloved daughter, Riku?” King Tronos asked.
In Maya’s mind: “Now! Now! NOW!!!”
“That..um that.. is.. Maya’s decsicion! You should ask her not me,sire. It’s ok even if she disagrees.” Riku replied. “What a gentleman! If any man was asked that same question, they would have answered tommorow or even later! But you Riku… You really are worthy of my daughter!” King Tronos said. “Just don’t let my sister know this, father…” Maya said. “Sure thing my daughter. Not a word out of my mouth… Riku! You’re in charge of my daughter now! I insist that you live together… ” King Tronos replied. “So be it my king” Riku replied.
“ What?! Little Mamay’s getting married to this handsome man?” Louise, sister of Maya, asked Riku and everyone. “Hehehe Mamay…what a cute name…hehe” Riku giggled. “It’s not funny! How did you know about it?” Maya asked.
“Someone told me..”
“And that someone is?”
“Someone.. just someone..hehe”
“Was it Father?”
“No.. he haven’t told me a thing about it..”
“Then who was it?”
“um.. someone!”
“Augh! Who’s that someone?!”
“Hehe I won’t tell you a detail…”
“…Hayate-kun!”
Then out of nowhere a dashing man came. Wearing a blue coat and a long rapier, he swooped down the hall. “What is it milady?” Hayate asked Maya. “Find the one who told my sister about this!” Maya ordered. “Affirmative!” Hayate said then vanished. “Where ever this situation is getting to, I’m putting an end to it. No one can hurt Maya.. not even emotionally” Riku said then stood between the two sisters. “Oh, such a gentleman way of protecting his beloved fiancé.. How sweet of you two..”
“I’ve sworn by man’s words that I’ll protect her even I die..”
“That’s sweet. Really sweet. My sister really does need you! Ok.. I’ll give you to her”
“ So be it” Riku said then held Maya’s hand and wlaked away.
“ Thanks for what you’ve done… I owe you one.” Maya thanked Riku. “It’s nothing Maya.. It’s my duty” Riku replied. “It’s not nothing but everything for me…” Maya said then hugged Riku. “ Oh…” Riku was out of words. “Riku! Rik-..” Dyalan was calling them but paused when they saw Riku hugging someone. Dylan aproached them and said, “ What’s happening?”
“Oh Dylan it’s you.. Oh I forgot you two haven’t known each other properly. Dylan this is Maya, Maya this is Dylan.”
“Hi Maya.. what exactly is your relationship with Riku? Oh don’t say a word. You two are engaged right? And Riku’s new job is your bodyguard right?”
“How did you know?!” Maya asked. “By your sweet eyes- it tells that you were in deep relationship with this guy. By your arms- that grip cannot be done if there’s no really relation and Riku’s hands- they hold you like there’s no losing of grip ‘til Ragnarok!” Dylan said. “Nice one as always Dylan… there’s no secret that cannot be unraveled with you around!” Riku said. “Thanks.. Oh yeah found any of The Sentinels? Those high-rankers can get us jailed in no time!” Dylan said.
“ Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you that Maya’s a Nightingale!”
“ What does that mean? She’s a bird?”
“ What an idiot! No silly! She’s the daughter of King Tronos Nightingale!”
“ Tronos…Tronos… Never heard of him”
“ The Nighthawks?”
“ Oh The Nighthawks… There’s not much information about them… some say they’re higher than the Sentinels! But I know it’s just a myth”
“ NO they aren’t”
“How can you say that?”
“It’s because Maya’s one.”
“ What? Maya! Are your family really higher that the Sentinels? ”
“ Yes. They’re one of the family minions. They’re low in rank, really.” Maya said.
“ How can you say that?”
“ I’ll show you. Sentinels!!”
One by one the Sentinels came, all lined up.
“!!!!”
“See.”
“ Your majesty…”
“ So what’s are we going to do Riku?” Maya asked. “Get rid of those soldiers first Maya then I’ll tell you.” Riku said. “You’re dismissed!” Maya said then all of the Sentinels disappeared.
“Now Riku?”
Riku then began whispering to Maya. Maya then blushed and replied quietly. “ So Maya, are you up to it? This can get really hard but fun.”
“…Sure Riku… I’ve never done it before but… if you’re with me I know I’ll be just fine.”
“ Then let’s go now!”
“Wait... Where are you two going?” Dylan asked.
“ Going to do something fun and entertaining!” Riku said.
“Where exactly?”
“Cooking”
“Oh… I thought it was... oh forget it.. Just continue, I won’t bother you.. but…”
“But what?”
“Why did Maya blushed?!?”
“She never cooked before so she’s afraid to mess up and get embarrassed.”
“Oh… that’s why.. then be I’ll be off then!” Dylan said while waving good-bye to Riku and Maya.
