"The World Today"

I see the news, I hear the music, I see the people, I feel the lust, I sense the hope and despair
Everyday I wake and see this place, this empty cage
People walk through life, blind to the fact
Blind to the things that bind us
We're nothing but slaves anymore, this was supposed to be something else
A universe, a solar system, a planet, an earth, a country, a state, something different
But it's all the same
History is told by those who win
So the truth is masked by bullets, fear and money
I can't change anything, I wouldn't if I could
Selfishness is a disease
People need to see this world
A world where cloning is legal, murder is justified for oil, rape is fine provided it doesn't spill into our suburbs, abortion is fine cause a child cannot comprehend, a place in our hearts for the child with a gun who takes anothers life because they can't find peace in their own, a world where people hate another for the color of their skin, a place where a person isn't a person unless they wear the right cloths
I see this place everytime I open my eyes and I've had enough, I will not buy into societies bull s**t anymore, I am a person and I have views and I will now accept the prechewed tasteless meat fed to me by the so called higher up of the world. I have a mind and I will use it. I will make a choice
