Ray slowly opened his eyes to the light of day. He looked over to find his window open, his eyes widening a bit. He was shocked that his window was open, because he remembered closing it before he even went to bed. Slowly he forced himself out of the bed, limping over to the window since his leg was asleep. He slowly shut it, but as he did he heard a noise.

“Help me!!! help me please!” The voice cried out as it seemed to slowly fade. Ray’s eyes once again widened, but out of fear this time. He pointed at the chair that had appeared in front of his door . “H-how did that get there?” He asked, walking towards it, but suddenly he came to a stop. Before his eyes the same teenage boy from the picture appeared, right in the chair.

“Are you ..here to help me?” He asked, holding out his hand. He looked like he hadn’t aged a day, but his skin was pale. His long green hair blew as if there was a breeze in the room, but there wasn’t. The clothes on his body looked like rags, torn and shredded as if he’d been roughed up. Ray offered him a hand “H-how can I help? What happened to you?” he asked, expecting an answer.

Suddenly both the boy and the chair faded from Ray’s eyes, making him fall back onto the bed. He gulped as he whispered “b-but he was right here!” He shook his head, gripping his hair a bit, closing his eyes and opening “I know that wasn’t a dream, I don’t day dream..” He sighed as he got back up, changing into black jeans. He took off his shirt, walking out of the room slowly to find no one around.

He blinked as he looked around “Um am I alone here?!” He checked his sisters room, blinking to find the beds all made. He then walked out into the kitchen, the area was really big so it would take him a while to find them. Suddenly he found a note on the fridge ‘Dear Brother, Jessica and I have gone out to meet the locals. Don’t worry, we’ll be careful. Just don’t wander off too far without telling us, or..else!’ He laughed as he read it, looking at the picture of a fist she drew.

Ray slowly went into the living room, looking around. It was kind of barren right now, but that’s because he hadn’t moved any furniture in yet. He sighed as he walked back to his bedroom, sliding on a black muscle shirt. His muscles showed through the shirt, which made him blink “I didn’t think I had those..wow, I am learning!” He laughed a bit as he picked up his wallet, attaching it to the chain on his pants.

He then walked up the stairs, holding a key in his hand. As he walked up the long stairwell, he began to hear the voice again. “Help me..help me please, oh god..oh no!!” He heard a scream this time, making him run up the stairs. When he got to the top he saw the boy from before, but a man holding an axe as well. The man attempted to slice him, but apparently the boy had slashed him straight through. He watched the boy pull out a knife as his eyes widened.

Suddenly the boy began to speak “Maybe they’ll leave this world if I kill myself..let’s hope.” He began to run, shouting “No, don’t do it!” Suddenly he fell right through the boy, but he hadn’t moved. He gasped as he turned, watching the boy shove the knife into himself. Ray’s eyes widened as he watched it fade again, standing up as he backed out of the room slowly.

He could barely move, walking backwards to the stairs. Before he knew it he had tripped, wincing as he begun to roll down the stairs. “ow ow ow OWWWW” He shouted as he rolled down, his shirt getting ripped, his skin getting cut in multiple places. As he rolled to the bottom he shouted “Oh god, oww!”

Jessica and Hannah had just walked in the door when they heard him, rushing over to him. Without speaking they called the ambulance, not taking time to ask what happened. They followed behind the Ambulance as they drove Ray into the hospital, but he didn’t wake up till hours later. As he opened his eyes Ray winced, whispering “W-what happened..?”

Hannah was asleep in the chair beside him, but Jessica was just staring. She stroked his cheek as she whispered “Why don’t you tell us..” Ray looked down, whispering “I-I..fell down the stairs.” Jessica knew he was lying, but she wasn’t going to bother him about it. She stroked softly as she whispered “We came home right after you fell, and how lucky were we. If we hadn’t got you here any sooner you might be in a coma!”

Ray laughed “I think that’s just something they say to reassure you.” Jessica gulped, tears welling up in her eyes “I-I don’t care if it is, I’m just glad you’re ok!” She threw her arms around him, bursting out in tears as she laid her head on his chest. Ray sighed as he held her, lifting her into the bed with him. “Calm down Jessica, I’m not going anywhere.”

Jessica didn’t respond, just cuddling close to him. Ray then blinked “well ok I guess you can sleep here tonight. Just don’t try to molest me in my sleep.” He laughed lightly, then Jessica poked his nose “I would never! Besides, isn’t that what YOU do?!” Ray and Jessica both laughed, smiling at each other. Jessica slowly laid her head back on his chest as she closed her eyes, falling asleep.

Ray kept silent, stroking her back as he whispered “I only wish I knew why I saw those images, or what really happened.” He shook his head, smiling at Jessica “Well..none the less, I’m still here with the people I love.” He stroked her cheek softly as he held her softly, closing his eyes as he whispered “Only problem is..when do I tell them that I think I’ve gone crazy?” He fell asleep slowly, letting the thoughts in his mind fade for the time being.
