I Can Complain Too!
Advanced = a*****e?
Having never really had the pleasure to immerse myself in Gaian RP culture, I wasn't aware that classifications beyond "literate" existed for labeling the style of role-playing you use. "Semi-literate" meant that actions were in brackets and it was only usually one or two lines per post, and "literate" meant that you wrote in paragraphs with quotation marks and correct grammar. But apparently it extends past that now into a realm referred to as "advanced RP".

As far as I can tell, advanced role-players are the epitome of what I hate. They're the people that don't know when to shut up-- the ones that are so concerned with length that they choke their own writing with unnecessary adjectives. They get so wrapped up in writing their own little novel every post that they manage to say nothing and be completely annoying doing so.

But by far, the worst quality of the advanced RPer is their utter and complete hubris. It's almost comical how holier-than-thou these a-holes can get sometimes. From naming their guild "Us > You" to publicly berating anyone who doesn't do things in their roundabout long-winded manner.

As Iilayah, the founder of "Us > You" stated on their recruitment forum, "Most of the time quantity comes along with quality" after denying a girl membership to her petty little club because most of her posts were only 2 paragraphs long. That pretty much describes how they feel about the way writing should be handled. "Hey! It's okay if your writing is soulless and trite as long as there's plenty of it!"

God, that's so utterly disgusting.

If I have a lot to say in a particular post, then of course it will be long, but if I don't, I'm not going to turn a paragraph of solid writing into half a page of watered-down text for the sake of these jerk-offs and their a**-backwards ideals.
