This morning my best friend Edwin got the long fought for 'OK' from his mom. Now he can move to Frensno when he's 17. In California. And he's more serious about this than anything I've ever heard him talk about, and so is his mother.
He says his life isn't going anywhere here. He wants to start all over.
And I'm begging him not to.
I wrote this on a napkin today at starbucks after school and I passed it to Edwin:
"Say the things you say,
And do the things you do,
But sometimes circles run around you.
You've run your life and been around,
You love to live to hate this town,
And I hope and dream just like you do.
We've been all through this twice before,
You want life to mean so much more, and I hope that everything goes through."
I got back, "Sorry babe. Nice rhymes."

I don't want him to go...it's like a brother moving away to the other opposite end on the country. Mexico is closer.
He better not actually move, but I'm afraid he is. We're only freshmen and it's hard to tell now, but he's talked to the counselors at my school and he's gotten in touch with colleges over in Santa Barbara and Fresno.
I've been thinking of maybe taking some years off and going some place for a while. Maybe some other state, maybe in some other country. Just to get away for a few years and try something new, possibly with Ralph if we're still together. I dunno. I think moving is too drastic though...
I got my braces yesterday. Hurts like a b***h in hell.
