AH! I'm so mad right now.
Daddy gets a phone call from someone I pretty much don't even know or have any desire to know and suddenly everyone's in freak out mode. Suddenly we're all wondering if it's really a good idea to have Charlie so far from home. Because you know, 40 minutes from Dad and Shawn, and 15-20 from Michael, Ben, and AK is so out of the way.
Daddy said if I got a job on campus, keep my grades up, and visit often, I could get an apartment like Michael did when he went to Findlay. Of course I jumped all over this! I'd be really close to Ben and AK! Michael says I just want it to have Ben over alone, but even if I stayed home, I'd have it all to myself for most of the day anyway. Ben's in Bluffton, down one way on 75 and Michael and AK are in Bowling Green the other way. It's the perfect location as far as I care.
What's this HUGE sudden problem that comes in the form of a simple phone call? Oh just some crazy woman claiming shared genes. How she got a hold of us is pretty wild. Why she suddenly decides to call now? Well Daddy thinks it has just about everything to do with my age. Oh I'm definitely an adult now. I can "supposedly" do whatever I want. Clearly, this lady DOES NOT know my dad...or my brothers. Still I was pretty confused about why still. So what? I'm 19? What does that have to do with anything? Well it probably has to do with the amount of zeros in Daddy's paycheck. Like with the right amount of bonding and a good sob story I'll just give a "Daddy please" and she's got some extra income? Please. As if.
Now as far as I care, I don't know this woman. The last time I saw her I was what? Three? I don't even remember half things I was taken away from her for, but Daddy and Shawn do, and Michael to an extent, so they're all freaking out. Suddenly that quick drive to Michael isn't quick enough and Daddy and Shawn are practically lightyears away. Ugh! This is so not fair! I mean I AM 19. I CAN take care of myself.
Ben was confused about all the trouble. I had to explain all the gory details I've been told. He reacted in a similar fashion to my brothers. I don't get it. The last time I saw her I was THREE! I admit a little helplessness then. I probably would have killed for a bunch of overprotective males then, but c'mon!
Thankfully Daddy's not going suddenly make me stay home. He's just probably going to send Michael to be all up in my space frequently and demand a lot of weekend trips home. So it looks like I'm still in my home away from home...but that doesn't mean the home I went away from won't come after me and bug me frequently. Great.
You know, even before this call, Daddy's kept reminding me, if you're going to be out all by yourself, you HAVE to remember to lock your door. Oh yeah. I won't forget. It'll probably be the only way of keeping Michael out anymore. *sigh*
This so isn't fair.
