Dane's Warning
"So have you planned a date?" Mrs. Jones asked her daughter and fiancee. Unlike her husband, she was happy about the thought of Aaron Kamirr becoming her son-in-law. The best part about it was the fact that she might have a grandchild soon. Well that's what all marriages produce, wasn't it?
"We're thinking about June sometime," Kathy smiled at her mother's support.
"Well there's no need to rush this sort of thing," Mr. Jones stated taking a big scoop of mashed potatoes and plopping it on his plate.
"True, that's why were thinking about June," Aaron reassured him, "That's still four months away. It's still February, sir."
"Hmph, guess your right," Mr. Jones said grudgingly.
"That's nice dear, but what do you think about a closer date? Let's say March or something?" Mrs. Jones urged.
"That would be great!" Kathy smiled at the thought.
"NO! I mean," Mr. Jones cleared his throat, "are you sure your not rushing into this, darling?"
"Daddy!" Kathy looked shocked at her father's outburst.
"Alex!" Mrs. Jones gasped.
"Uh... how about we compromise..." Aaron spoke up to draw the attention to him, "Why not late April, that's almost in the middle."
"Fine," Mr. Jones said gruffly, but he was thankful for the young man's rescue, otherwise he had a feeling he would have been sleeping on the couch tonight.
"I suppose," Mrs. Jones nodded, she was just happy it wasn't too far off.
"If you think it's the best" Kathy agreed.

"I for one, don't think it's a good idea," a calm, pleasant voice sliced through the air, "It might rain."
"I promise I won't let any rain fall on our wedding day," Aaron reassured Kathy and kissed her on her forehead.
"Oh please, cousin, you don't control the weather," the man said again. He had jet black hair. There was a lock that carelessly covered a dark blue eye.
"Dane, don't be such a downer. Nothing bad will happen on our wedding," Aaron brought Kathy's hands to his chest, "trust me."
"I do," Kathy grinned and she did, with all her heart she trusted him.
"Aaron... may I speak with alone?" Dane nodded to the kitchen.
"Alright," he kissed Kathy on the mouth and then let her sit down, "I'll be right back." he waited for her to nod and then followed his cousin in to the kitchen.
"Aaron, this is foolish. Bad things happen to those who rush into things," Dane warned his cousin.
"Thank you for your concern, Dane, but we're not rushing anything. Kathy and I have dated for three years and now we've decided the knot... and you're telling me we're rushing things?" Aaron asked in minor disbelief.
"Cousin, you planned for a June wedding didn't you?" he leaned against the counter.
"Yes, but-"
"Aaron," Dane held up his hand to silence the blonde man, "You need to give yourself time-"
"Dane! Three years are more then-"
"Enough.." Dane finished Aaron's sentence, "I know, but you have to give time to those who you've decided to invite." He rested his hands on his younger cousin's shoulders, "Just be careful. There might be a jealous man out there that wants to hurt you and that's the last thing I want to see happen. You're my favorite cousin."
"I'm you're ONLY cousin," Aaron chuckled, "Don't worry, I'll be fine Dane."
"Just watch your back cousin. In the mean time," he dropped his hands, "Go out there and comfort your soon-to-be wife." Dane watched his cousin go back to the living room and sighed.
