Whispers in the Darkness and driving me insane, the voices ring within my ears and the nurse looks at me like I'm crazy when I ask if she heard what they said. It is nothing that is whole and it is nothing that can be distinguished. They are words of demons or fallen gods and the human mind cannot understand their ancient language. I want the rain to stop flowing, the thunder to stop rumbling, the lightning to stop flashing. I will drown, I will go deaf, I will go blind. Why does the nurse do nothing to help me. I don't understand. I see the liquid dripping in the hourglass of time. Clear liquid, not sand runs dripps so slowly. The Nurse is there and then is gone, time is moving faster, too fast. The images start to blur and my mind beats within my skull. The voices rise to the point that it hurts. What is this pain, what is this fuzzy feeling. I cannot escape, I am bound, my tongue is heavy. I hear death approach, I see her form standing before me. I realize who she is without a doubt and I absolve myself of any hope. Death has come for me with her dagger. She takes my hand and whispers for me to sleep and I can see only darkness, I can feel nothing and my mind races then is silence. I cannot formulate thoughts. I am terrified but then I forget how to be terrified and it becomes nothing more then a word. Black lips on a pale background enters my vision. They smile and show elongated canines. They smile sweetly at me and whisper, "Join Me." And I do. The whispers are gone, the insanity is gone, the storm is gone and all is blissfully silent. The hourglass of time is stopped and I know my time is up. And I finally die.
